I so wished that the singer could actually sing. Because I loved what they were doing with their music and the concept behind the performance. I didn't think it was wise to focus solely on the singer, even if he could actually sing. They should have incorporated the entire group, highlighting the musicians, who were the real talent of the act, instead of putting them in the background, practically unseen in the dark, while the spotlight was on the guy who couldn't hold a tune in a bucket. Maybe in future somebody will make a do-over of this act and do it better. There were so many ways they could have made a much more creative and memorable performance. What they need is a leader who has the capacity to make such a great idea work.
I don't think anyone would say this is 'classical' music by any stretch----it actually would be interesting to see that kind of a meld with pop music, but this wasn't it.
@@CathyDoll-qb7og He did not have a great voice! I think he may have hit one or two notes but the rest was totally off key. I don't know why the group thought they even needed a lead singer. At the very least, they should have chosen someone who could actually sing. It just ruined the whole concept of this act.
I normally agree with Simon's criticisms, but here I feel he was quite rude to buzz them right after he sang the first line. That said, the soloist had got a strong singing voice, but his notes are sometimes off key, so I think they should have gotten a more polished soloist, or a male-female duet. This was 2010, so what happened to The Arrangement and the soloist? I didn't find anything from a web search.
He has decent control, but initially he sounded further off-pitch, and without emotion in his voice. I think honestly it was just not the best choice of songs for his vocal range, but the idea was okay. The semi-final was better, but still a bit over-serious instead of seeming to have fun with it. A bit too restrained in many parts.
Stronger as in actually able to sing! He is a terrible singer and I was disappointed because it could have been so much better with a skilled singer and with the musicians more than just background music. They were the talent here. I feel bad for them for not realizing that their singer was awful and their talent with their instruments and music was sidelined.
I so agree that's the first thing I thought about the singer a young Paul Mc Cartney. Give them a chance a new approach to music.. I'm 70 and I would go and watch them. I hope they become famous as a group or individually. Well done I'm proud to be a Brit😊❤😂
😢🎉I was disappointed to say the least. I pray they do not give up. I had the same reaction as Simon. I think he should have given them the benefit of the dought. I would have still told them to go practice and come back and see me next year. My child plays the cello. So I listened to the end. 😢 They need more practice and maybe a different singer. I do not sing much better than him but I would love the chance to audition. I do not have finances to come and sing for you. Keep practicing; You have the potential and youth on Your Side. 🎉❤
Even if you had the finances, if you can't sing better than him, why make such a statement as if you're fishing for the job? And 'dought' is spelled 'doubt'. They don't need a bad singer on that stage for any reason.
One what? You bought something that was uncomfortable and stopped using it. Using what? Like what are you talking about? Are you on the wrong video or something? Makes no sense.
Ok... It just was not my cup of tea. I'm sorry to say, I was not entertained and it was like watching someone scrape their nails on the blackboard. Please stop.
Absolutely no idea what I just watched 😂😂
They were brilliant! Love them!
I want to see what is next. It is super interesting and entertaining.
The blond boy leader looks a bit like Paul McCartney, don't you think?
Yep
Rod Stewart
definitely! i thought it the first second he was shown! it's rather uncanny
Ummm, nope!
Terrific. Thank you.

100%
a few voice lessons and he'll be fine.
I very much agree. Blond guy can't sing. as rondaallen7211 stated, he could probably do pretty well with some voice lessons. The tone sounded decent.
Oooooooh dear, oh dear oh dear!
I have not heard many English people sing with an English accent.
I don't think anyone would say this is 'classical' music by any stretch----it actually would be interesting to see that kind of a meld with pop music, but this wasn't it.
I think you are misinterpreting the intention of their performance. Obviously they are talented musicians, but this is a comedy act.
They Are Not The Next Il Divo
@@PafMedic ...For sure!
I’m second to comment 💖 we love Simon
It was Lukewarm for Me!
Ingenious! 🎼🔥
Not that my opinion matters, but I didn't care for it at all.
Same
OH IT REALLY DOES MATTER AND I WHOLEHEARTEDLY AGREE WITH YOU! ☹️
I agree. He has a great voice but it was all over the place.

@Yosetime I totally agree.
That was very well done. I missed this one entirely. First time seen. Very well done.

Brilliant
@@softkitty775 Awful. Ears bleeding.

Interesting. 😊
I thought that was great. What a novel approach and idea 👍👍
@@elizabeth10392 no, it was total trash. What part of it was “great”?
@JessyKenelly Firstly, you're entitled to your opinion as I am to mine. Secondly, I have no intention of explaining my opinion. I liked it - simple
@ Fair enough, I respect that.
Fun. Silly.
This is 14 years old.
I like how Simon looked before all the plastic surgery! He looked like a real man!
Great idea Arrangement, but singer , would take some singing lessons to improve the arrangements, to take it from good to great
Bizarre. But very interesting. I just wish the vocals were stronger.

Well now.... Not up to great standards. Kind of cheesy. But the customer is always right. The audience liked it. Who knew?
Looks like a modern blond Paul Mccartney

So funny
Simon was correct! The concept is intriguing, but the execution is where it fails. Sorry, no. But to each their own!
I would have to say, the guy can't sing real well. Love the instrumental though. LOL!
I liked it. I also like classical. I thought it was entertaining.
@@susangonos589 you’re clearly very easily entertained then.
Aspirin, anyone?
Lol
The “singer” looks about 40!
I thought it was eclectic
NO
And this is why a lot of people have stopped watching. Absolute rubbish!
Have bought one - but find its uncomfortable. Stopped using it!
One what? You bought something that was uncomfortable and stopped using it. Using what? Like what are you talking about? Are you on the wrong video or something? Makes no sense.
Simon can be so boringly conventional.
Could have been much better. Underwhelming.
Sorry I just couldn't get into that but the musicians were were ok but not the singing
TONE DEAF
This was ÀBSOLUTELY ÀWFUL !!!!! The singer was totally off key. I didn't like the first and líked second even leeesssss !!!!!!
Like you can do better? Also no he wasn’t
@lukeskywalker9060yea he was.
@lukeskywalker9060and what’s with all these people posting comments but not showing their face?
He's tone- deaf🤦🏻♀️
Simon is too antiquated and needs to pass the torch along. Not everyone is going to fit into his Boy Band mold.
Yeah. NO!!! 😖

Great idea, terrible singer. Love them anyway.
🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮
This was horrible
Loud of nonsense. 😮
Not great, really!
Nope
Need a new singer
Ewwww
Awful
Not. Impressive
The singer is mediocre. Maybe he has good ideas and can direct the group, but his voice stinks
Classical disaster!
Horrible
He’s not a very good singer
