Every single pointer resonated with me so much. As someone who struggles with the toxic circle of perfectionism-procrastination, "how you do one thing is how you do everything" literally wrecked my life.
Moze dlatego, ze mam 44 lata, niejedno przeszlam, niejeden most spalilam 😉 i niejedna 'prawde zyciowa' uslyszalam... Dziekuje! 🤗 Zycze Ci wszystkiego dobrego na nowy rok i pozdrawiam serdecznie z Edynburga 😘 Ps. Robisz duzo dobrego swoimi filmikami 👍
I really resonated with the part about searching for a reason. Looking back, I realize that I was always looking for reasons for things that weren’t really important. Instead, I should have spent that time working toward my goals. Thank you for always giving me great insights! :))
I guess it’s human nature to seek logic and order in even most random things! It’s proven by science :) so you did nothing wrong :) but yeah, focus on your goals and what you can control, it’s better this way most of the time! Sending a hug!
When I had my surgeries, my body couldn't cope or a doctor made a mistake or whatever - the surgeries didn't help at all and my health is more damaged than before. And for the past four years I stayed in this constant mind loop "Why, why me, why this and who made a mistake, or did I make a mistake? Is there anyone to blame?" until someone this year told me "I'm sorry, it was just too much, bodies are different, it sucks you can't heal anymore properly, but it's not anyone's fault, and it just happened. Not because of a mistake, not because of a reason. It just happens to some people." - And nowadays I try to focus on that and to focus on living WITH the circumstances instead of searching for a reason to blame. It helps a bit. Thank you again for your work! You're by far my favourite Content Creator! 🩷 And you do that so well! Great job!
I am so sorry to hear about your experience. I used to have thing strong belief that medicine is 'hard science', like 2+2 is always 4 kind of reasoning, but my experiences with autoimmune neurological conditions proved that it doesn't always work like this. Sometimes even you do everything well, the doctors do everything well, and it still does not change anything. Even getting my diagnosis was a struggle. I hope that you can now focus on healing, however that may look at given time, and giving yourself the care and patience that you need. There is always hope and our mind can do incredible things! And as always, thank you so much for your kind words - means a lot! I love creating for you 🩷

@@lostinadmiration 'Manageable' ist just the right word! And sooo true! I wish I had known that long before :D But well, it's like that cheesy quote "You know what you had when you loose it" or something like that. Nowadays I try to thank my body for being alive, not sitting in a wheelchair, keeping me aware of myself and so on. Just like you said it: Very blessed it's not worse! 💪
daria, i absolutely love the even-handed way you dismantled the dumba$$ stuff people say. it's so good to hear you say these words! i agree with every rebuttal ty for vindicating me! you rock!
that means so much! thank you :) overall I appreciate all advice that comes with good intentions but some of these have been around so long, I feel like we repeat them without even thinking while they don't mean what we think they mean. sending you a hug and wishing you a great week ahead!
Recently discovered your channel and loving your content. I really like how you give so easy to understand examples for every topic. Also your voice is so soothing and I love your accent 😊
My passion is to do wildfire and postfire erosion prediction modeling using remote sensing imagery and machine learning, but there aren't many jobs in my area doing that sadly. I'd have to move far away from friends and family and probably take a paycut, which I feel isn't worth the tradeoff. Instead I'm trying to find a role in a related field that makes decent money but allows me to work remotely.
I try to listen to everyone I talk to, listen to their advice and test it - if it does not work for me I drop it. Honestly the worst advice you get is from all the gurus in the internet
That sounds great. I think we should be open minded, even to ideas that sound crazy or revolutionary- or maybe especially to those. At the same time, I feel like we sometimes give authority to some people by default, just because they have a degree or a certain job or fame or money. While we should filter everything through the lens of common sense too!
