Senator ‘sick and tired’ of being labelled ‘evil’ for wanting a functioning economy

  • Nationals Senator Matt Canavan says he is “sick and tired” of people who do not live near Australia’s natural assets, lecturing everyone on the state of them and how “evil” some are for wanting a “functioning economy”.
    “The government’s plans here … this bill will mean more power for Canberra and take away the decision-making responsibilities, the control Australians have over their natural environment,” Mr Canavan told Sky News host Andrew Bolt.
    “I see it first-hand; I live on just kilometres from the Great Barrier Reef.
    “We are sick and tired of people that don’t live there, who have no idea about the reef, telling us what its state is, what we should do about it, how evil we are for wanting to have a functioning economy.
    “We want to protect those natural assets; we just need to have the power and responsibility to do so.”

      Albo owns five rental properties as far as we know, others owned by him and various other politicians may be hidden from scrutiny. If each family could only own the house that they live in, then we would not have an inflation problem or a housing shortage problem, as we could bring in trades people migrants who could build more houses. Negative gearing on houses and other domestic accommodation, and the right to own multiple houses and for landlords to rip off tenants is a national disaster that will destroy this country, as it is destroying the USA, and the UK.

    • @wildstorm74
      @wildstorm74 29 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Why do you want that? As long they don't remove trees, plants and farming land for food btw. Those solar farms and wind turbines are all good. Win win in every situation.
      By the way, Australia just so happens to have like 80/90 desert of land for solar farms. We also just so happened to have lots of coastal areas for wind turbines that are not the coal reef area.
      We just have to keep our mining industry open for Australia's income there, did I also mention we can keep our food farms and animal's farms just fine???
      I don't get why both sides of debt are even a thing. It doesn't take much thinking to do everything, that's talked about. The Australian landscape is just amazing like that. Where most other countries are not so lucky to do the lot like we can here.😕

    I believe that we ought to be able to make a living using the natural resources we have, there is no evidence to support that humans negatively effect the environment. If i can't make a living and support my family using the natural resources that this land has provided then what do we have. Whilst there is an argument that these resources may eventualy deplete and there may be a minor alteration in the atmosphere, what is more important than my families well being. I have a financial interest in things remaining the way they are. If too much changes we are a risk of instability and major companies going broke which would be unpsetting for the financial markets. I do not want to see a shift away from those that hold power because they have cared for us and our families welfare for many decades.
