Born and raised in Wooster. The high school will always be on Bowman St.. l remember when the Court House caught fire! We shopped for my cub scout uniform at Freedlanders. Saw Bambi, Snow White, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty and Uncle Remus at the Wooster theater. Saw Star Wars at the Lyric theater. The Daily Record was privately owned by the Dix family, and we called it the Daily Mistake! I remember watching the fair grounds flood during the night from our house on West Liberty on July the 5th. (The 4th ended at midnight but not the storm!) I remember too that for years all the animal barns there had a red line on them to mark the water level from that night. Near 2 dozen people died, some were never found. I remember bricks being made in Wooster. I remember when a train wreck took out the station there. We ate at Bishops and the A&W drive ins. Saw The Night if the Living Dead at the Skyline Drive in Theater. I remember The Buckeye Mart, Mr Wiggs and Nichols. Attended Walnut St. School. We called Beall ave. Hamberger Hill. Seemed like half of Wooster worked for Rubbermaid. Rode a passenger train from Canton to Wooster during a field trip. Skated at Wooster Skate Land. And on the pond at Schellen Park. I remember when the Sheriff moved from the old jail to the Justice Center. Wayne County built it then didnt have the funds to operate it!! I remember when the Dix expressway opened. I remember 🎶 WWST in Wwooooosssttteerrrr🎵. I remember the Childrens Home on Burbank Rd. I remember Molrose Elem was Smell toes Elem.😂. I remember when Shelmar Trailor Park moved in. I miss the Green Leaf and Coccia House. (Live too far away now). I remember the Parlor Rest. built the Worlds Largest Sundae, several years running. Shared with all for free. Mine was soup by the time l got it but it was still good!!😊 l remember my Mom back handing me and landed on the floor and got picked up by the hair on my neck because of something l should not have said in Beuhlers downtown. (I'm still afraid to tell you what l said!😮) l remember McIntires funeral home ran the local Ambulance service. Had a garage out back that had black herse's and white ambulances same model of vehicles. (That was when they used to 'scoop and run'. I remember when they extended the Dix expressway. We bought feed at the Wooster Equity. Lumber at Curry's. Bowled at Plaza Lanes. Noletti's bakery!!🤪 l liked a young girl once whose parents owned the Gold Star Store. I remember the Amish arriving on buses to shop at Youngs IGA on South St. It was regular. TJ's. Anybody else?

@@sangeethapaul3507 would u be able to answer why people keep saying its in the middle of nowhere? As i saw in the video it has a lot of stories? Do they mean wooster doesnt have bars or clubs and in the sense its "dry"?

@JinaMukherjeeF late but that's definitely not true, there's plenty of places to drink, off the top of my head there's local places like the Olde Jaol, Muddy's, Leroy's, C.W. Burgersteins, and some chain placed like Applebees, Buffallo Wild Wings, and Longhorn

I live down the road from the arboretum, I go there often from spring to fall to walk. Nice place to get some exercise.
