    I've worked in the banking industry for almost 11 yrs and I'm considering changing paths to become a MLO. I've been binge watching your episodes and it's truly been great information. I'm also a part time notary signing agent so I see a lot of the docs, but it'll be very interesting to see how it all comes together once I'm on the front end of it. You guys are awesome!

    I love that you say going into the office and having a CONSISTENT schedule is the key to success. I am 100% green to the industry, I come from a Corporate Fitness background, I don't even have my license yet. Passed the NMLS exam but just waiting on the state.
    Can you tell me, "WHY" every one of these recruiters offers remote-jobs, training from another state, and work 7am-9pm, 7 days a week, phone ringing at 1am?"
    That sounds like a horrible life. Love also that you said to put the phone down, bc having that attached to me scares me the most about this path.

    Would love to know the rationale as to why top producers don’t work from home? Is it distractions? A lot of new MLOs are solely working from home without an office now.

    • @TheLoanOfficerPodcast

      Hey Tori - it can vary from person to person. It seems like the younger generation of loan originators is comfortable working remotely - while others might feel that they get more accomplished if they go into a physical officer everyday.

    Y’all killed this...I’m a lil intimidated about jumping in the industry because I don’t know anything about mortgage or real estate but y’all giving a little boost in my inspiration each day. Any tips on overcoming that hesitation?

    • @TheLoanOfficerPodcast
      @TheLoanOfficerPodcast  3 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      Appreciate it Eddy! Full disclosure, neither did D.O…Get comfortable with being uncomfortable. This industry is not for the timid. Jordan Belfort from the Wolf of Wall Street says it best, “97% of the people who quit too soon are employed by the 3% who never gave up.”…always be the student and each day work on becoming 1% better.

    Hey, I love the podcast! I’ve just started listening about a month ago but I’ve gone back to hear the older ones. I’m currently about to start my courses to take the NMLS test. Can you guys make a podcast on how to approach a mentor or how to go about getting mentorship? Thanks

    • @TheLoanOfficerPodcast
      @TheLoanOfficerPodcast  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thank you for the love. I would approach a mentor with coffee and booze. Seriously, look for someone you want to learn more about and meet them for coffee or a drink (you pay!). Find this person either within your organization or by attending a local industry function or by joining a local Facebook group for real estate and mortgage professionals. Never hide from who you are and what you are looking to accomplish. Treat finding a mentor the same way you would find a referral partner. Hook up with them via LinkedIn / Facebook, learn something about them, send them a message, give them a call etc.
