Ironically this follows a pretty common anime trope, "The power of friendship triumphs all". Even though they went through so much suffering both inflicted on the other and brought on by their own actions, only by working together Lelouch and Suzaku achieved the impossible by conquering the world and thereby becoming the enemies of the world destroying their futures to give the world a chance for the better. It is truly a testament to the strength of their friendship even though they wronged each other badly the dedication and resolve that allowed them to put aside their differences was commendable to complete the Zero Requiem. Indeed this was one of, if not the best ending in anime history
FMAB wasn't even that good The only reason why it's ranked #1 in MAL is because it's rigged by the toxic fans and the trash mods supporting it while ratings 1s on anime that get close to #1 spot.

@@chrisbradley3458 agree. FMAB has nothing special at all. It's not bad but it isn't a masterpiece either. Like everyone said it is. It's overrated as hell.
Seriously, it takes some balls to make everybody hate you and then order your best friend to stab and kill you in front of a crowd of people. Like no seriously, even putting all the politics and stuff aside I can only imagine how scared Lelouch must've been on the inside when Suzaku stabbed him. I know it was his idea, and he had sort of accepted his death, made peace with it, but even so... the prospect of actually dying is terrifying. Imagining it is nothing like actually experiencing it, and the pain of getting stabbed through the chest with a sword... yipes! It seriously took a lot of guts for him to do that! Goddammit, this is so sad though. Why did it have to end this way? Goddammit! 😭
And he barely flinched in the moment. He didn't try to run, or back out at the last minute. He simply smiled and took the blow. People compare Lelouch to Light yagami, but they're nothing alike. Light only killed for his own gain and was unwilling to die for his cause, running away in tears. Lelouch was prepared to die from the start, and gave up everything for the world, even though they'll never know it.

For me to add to the goat of an ending Lelouch who wanted to live in a world of peace with his sister, died. Suzaku who wanted to die to be with Euphy, lives on as Zero. THIS IS ART
Lelouch said the words "The only ones who should kill, are those who are prepared to be killed" in episode 1. He truly meant those words and proved it. He gave up not only his life, but his reputation as well, to save the world. And the world will never thank him, or even know what he did for them. Im sad that he had to die to fix the fuck up of the black knights betrayal, but it really is a damn good ending for an incredible show. Easily one of my favorite, if jot ky all time favorite, show.

He would love this. And when I told my sister about how great it was and how much I loved it, she didn't understand. She told me to stop and her reaction reminded me of when Lelouch was trying to talk to CC in season 1 episode 5 when she simply responded with "Goodnight, Lelouch". She is not an anime fan nor is she into CodeGeass, but if she watches even just the ending, maybe she will see how much I like it. Or the Ashford Academy scenes. Not a whole episode, just a small clip. Because the way my family don't understand my love for Code Geass makes me feel sad sometimes. I am rewatching Code Geass for the first time in 5 years and I have the DVDs and am now currently on Season 1 Episode 10. And for my birthday, my other sister is getting me Lelouch of the Resurrection, and I can't wait! I will probably end up watching it a 2nd or 3rd time because I love Code Geass. It's number 1 in my top 3 anime, the others being Bleach and Inuyasha!

4:30 a random thought I had is that, Nunally didn't actually get that flashback sequence, and just deduced Lelouch's true goals. Based on the fact that a) Why would Jeremiah just easily Zero get to Lelouch b) The fact that Lelouch doesn't really look regretful c) The fact that they litterally have the same plans I mean there's gaps but I just needed to feed my mind a bit
'Noo I don't want that. CC finding another man? Even after I die I want to be at the front of her mind. For 10 years atleast!!' And then Imagine the fans defending it saying lelouch was acting all along/ you just didn't understand it/ he's only a teenager etc
Nunnally is crying just because she regrets that she didn't trust her big brother. Humans hearts are really fickle 😢 I can say that the only one who loved him truly is shirley even though her father died because of lelouch she accepted it and doesn't hold a grudge about it. That's the best kind of love a love that is not fickle a love that doesn't change just because of a single mistake or misunderstanding. Shirley's love is the most pure kind of love too bad she died 😢
I haven't actually watched the new thing yet. Even though it's not new anymore at this point. I wanted to rewatch the first two seasons first, but never got around to it. Haha.
He was neither a hero (hero-sacrificies the loved one for the world) nor a villain (villain-go against whole world for loved one), but someone who wished best for both loved ones and the whole world; for that he took it all on himself
I remember watching this finale without seeing the whole series years before, thinking "this animation sucks, why do people like it so much? I don't see it" Then I watched season 1 and 2 like 2 weeks ago and Code Geass became one of my top 5 favorite animes, it's engraved on my mind as if it was one of the classic animes I watched on public TV when I was 10 years old. Guys you are watching the greatest ending in all of the fiction 🔥🔥
I just finished this anime and I don’t think anything will ever live up to this
Ironically this follows a pretty common anime trope, "The power of friendship triumphs all".
Man I watched this anime last year and it was golden.
understatement. I'd this a couple of time now. probably gonna watch it again.
The series been out for so long and you have only watched last year? Your taste on anime must be awful.
@@bens.8787 bruh atleast they watched it
Best TV anime ending of ALL TIME.
The fact that Jeremiah was let into the secret demonstrates his strength of character. Fare thee well, orange boy.
This is my favorite anime. Sorry FMAB but you're gonna have to settle for the silver medal.
FMAB wasn't even that good
The only reason why it's ranked #1 in MAL is because it's rigged by the toxic fans and the trash mods supporting it while ratings 1s on anime that get close to #1 spot.
@@saosaqii5807 I agree with the whole trash mods on MAL thing but fmab was almost perfect to me. How come you don’t like it
@@saosaqii5807 totally agree. I failed to see what made everyone obras over the show so much. The build up was slow and there were so many dry spots for me.
The fanboys were so bad that they were purposely downvoting the 4th season of AOT So that it wouldn’t stay at #1 on MAL. It’s ridiculous
Goddammit! 😭
I never thought about that. Now his death is even more painful and tragic😭😭😭😭😭
@@equalstone1813 Amen!

Hey, don't be mean to them. Every generation must have a Lelouch, let them have Eren Yeager. Personally, Eren had it coming. 😂
@@Killgore-ip2yq Well just pointing out the writers name
Code Geass is way too better than that crap
Tf did Isayama copy? Nothing wrong with being inspired. Y’all are just old heads that don’t want to accept that modern anime can be good. It’s ok to prefer one show to another, but there’s no need to blow out another’s candle to make yours shine brighter.
I love how everyone there knew exactly what his plan was.
I just noticed the difference between the series and movie version:
In the movie version:
1. Shirley is added in the scene
2. An additional cut when Zero was running is added.
3. Musical scoring
Yeah. Shirley made the movie non-canon.
And no mention of Rolo.
@@scarlightemperor3410 The movies are in it's own canon leading to Resurrection Lelouch and then the new series coming out
Resurrection is pure shit
@@scarlightemperor3410I’m in the minority but I’m glad they made Shirley live

AAHH FUCK this ending still makes me cry like a little girl years later!
It just hits so hard all the memories of laughter, pain, joy and suffering everyone's bond with lelouch aaahhh still gets to me.
man, i already watched code geass' ending so many times but it still hits me. this is a masterpiece. and yeah, the best and most unexpected ending for me 😭
The world will not know everything he’s done for this world. The one that do know is he saved the world sacrificing everything
For me to add to the goat of an ending
Lelouch who wanted to live in a world of peace with his sister, died.
Suzaku who wanted to die to be with Euphy, lives on as Zero.
THIS IS ART
AOT, eat your heart out
Funny to think sunrise used to be a Hentai studio before doing this
Now that I’ve seen this comment the inclusion of full fledged female nudity scenes in Code Geass is starting to make A LOT more sense
So that's why this anime has a balls
Lelouch said the words "The only ones who should kill, are those who are prepared to be killed" in episode 1. He truly meant those words and proved it. He gave up not only his life, but his reputation as well, to save the world. And the world will never thank him, or even know what he did for them. Im sad that he had to die to fix the fuck up of the black knights betrayal, but it really is a damn good ending for an incredible show. Easily one of my favorite, if jot ky all time favorite, show.
I think this was the first anime that actually made me cry.
I mean, there have been a few that got me emotional, but the sheer tragedy and nobility and poetry of this made me sob. Even now, I risk tears revisiting it.
How can i ever look towards the future without you..
Seems he found a way to make everyone happy except for his little sis..😅
Light Yagami: If I don't constantly remind people how good of a liar I am, I might die
Lelouch: I will happily die a villain and be remembered as the worst human being of all time so that the world can know peace

Funny how them chanting zero is basically them chanting lelouch. 10/10 ending
Zero reminds me of jet stream Sam when he dodges bullets and jumps pass enemies

You know what makes me feel as sad as seeing Lelouch's death? That very little people I know know how great Code Geass is. I mean, my dad loves watching series and films with lots of fighting. It's number 1 in my top 3 anime, the others being Bleach and Inuyasha!
bro we get it u like the show. not everyone else has to like it also.
It's ok, but at least I wish my sister or my parents had heard of it, even if they have never seen it or they aren't interested. And, I also watched Resurrection and I loved it! It was actually a real surprise seeing Lelouch come back from the dead.
we truly need Zero right now
Bro 😂
4:30 a random thought I had is that, Nunally didn't actually get that flashback sequence, and just deduced Lelouch's true goals. Based on the fact that
a) Why would Jeremiah just easily Zero get to Lelouch
b) The fact that Lelouch doesn't really look regretful
c) The fact that they litterally have the same plans
I mean there's gaps but I just needed to feed my mind a bit
same as Suzaku sometimes touches CC and got illusion ( a side effects)
Holy shit did I just unknowingly spoil the ending fml bro
F for this fallen soldier
Watch it anyway
I was also spoiled but I enjoyed still a lot because I didn't know the build up to this amazing ending

Just watching th ending is still making me cry years after wqtching it
5:18 the fall of a hero who acted like the villain to the people
To date the only piece of media that made me shed tears
Nunnally is crying just because she regrets that she didn't trust her big brother. Humans hearts are really fickle 😢 I can say that the only one who loved him truly is shirley even though her father died because of lelouch she accepted it and doesn't hold a grudge about it. That's the best kind of love a love that is not fickle a love that doesn't change just because of a single mistake or misunderstanding. Shirley's love is the most pure kind of love too bad she died 😢

He was neither a hero (hero-sacrificies the loved one for the world) nor a villain (villain-go against whole world for loved one), but someone who wished best for both loved ones and the whole world; for that he took it all on himself
"Suzaku, you are going to be a hero now, the messiah who save the world from Emperor Lelouch Vi Britania, the enemy of the world, as Zero."

Altho I spoiled myself of the ending it still hit me
