Alessa's mother is the only one being spared. That means that alessa does not have a grudge against her, in fact her mother was tricked.

    • @GuukanKitsune
      @GuukanKitsune ปีที่แล้ว +589

Alessa knew her mother never meant for harm to come to her. She was aware these monsters had promised Dahlia they were going to help her, but not how, and she saw her mom try to force her way in and save her when the how became apparent.
She never blamed her mother. That's why the monsters left Dahlia alone. She saw her mom as a victim like her. She placed the blame on exactly the people who deserved to have it... _they_ were the ones she wanted.

You know you've f*cked up royally when the Devil itself is willing to grant a dying tormented child the power to exact vengence and doesn't demand anything in return. Think about that, Alessa didn't have to sell her soul or suffer eternally as payment, she got what she wanted, revenge, justice, even got to spawn a part of herself to live its own life unburdened by her past, and in the end, that part and her mother enjoyed peace.

Dark Alessa and Sharon being the evil and good respectively of Alessa, joined together after this. Alessa was made whole, her revenge complete.
It's such a shame they didn't explore this properly in the sequel, I would've loved for Rose and Alessa to return to the real world, instead of being stuck in the Fog World like the ending shows.

I'm thinking a better line might have been, "...and God does not hear you."
In my opinion, that would have sounded much darker, as it implies that there is a God, but he has willfully turned away from those particular people within the church because of their wrongdoings as well as their abuse of Alessa.
Granted, one would argue that the same implication is already being made even with the actual line that we have. But still, it's interesting to think what affect any alternative lines might have had on the audience.

This was such an underrated film. It was both a solid adaptation of the games AND a great standalone horror film. It might not have followed the lore to the fullest, but God damn if it wasn't VERY close.
The only thing they really could've gone without was Pyramid head. If they designed their own trauma creature for the MC (maybe a manifestation of abandonment or something, idk lol) that would've been superb. Other than that, it's not cheesy, over the top fan service (like the Resident Evil movies) and did a great job capturing the aesthetic of the games.

So dark Alyssa actually wanted to kill Heather in the game most likely to take her over
The interesting thing about this movie
      Is that Alyssa
Her monster form Is based on mary And maria
As for Silent Hill in video games.
Its influence is based on the people.
But usually average people are not affected by it.
There the ones with the strange abilities like Alyssa and Claudia (she is kinda like a half demon or something) that can have control over the influence of the town
The ones that are mentally damaged which the town likes to test them like mice in a maze
And the ones known as average Joe's like Henry harry and Laura
Usually the average ones can't experience or feel the influence of silent hill unless they were somehow connected to its rituals like Harry being the adopted father of Cheryl which she was the reincarnation of Alyssa and Heather was the reincarnation of Cheryl and as for Henry he was at the wrong spot at the wrong time as in the apartment that walter was obsessed with and used an ancient ritual that he learned in his childhood situation
Laura didn't see or physically came in contact with any of the creatures because the only connection she had was a letter of Mary which didn't put her in the interest of the realms of silent hill

It's not under appreciated within itself, everyone I knew liked this movie as a standalone. The issue was the sequel was so horrendous, that it screwed up the series beyond repair, and left a bad taste in everyone's mouth. Same thing happened with Shrek 2 or Matrix Reloaded. They didn't do the franchise justice and they were never quite the same after.

This take on silent hill was very 'for the cinema' crowd. It was obvious the way the original game story worked it couldn't have been translated well into a cinematic format if they stuck to just how that was.
But for what it's worth, this was an okay adaptation. Making Dahlia into a victim and even getting some redemption, having Alessa go full vengeance, involving the cult more prominently.
Only downside was not having Harry in it, maybe they thought having a mother being the focus made more sense to them in Rose.

So if we consider the Fog World and Otherworld to be some sort of purgatory, a place where the living can get in touch with the dead, then Christabella and her cultists died twice. Think about it. The fire broke out in 1974, eats up the entire town slowly until deemed too dangerous to even demolish the old buildings. We never see any of the cultists leaving the hotel. And to top it off they look just about the same age despite the 30 year gap.

All i can say is that in my own life i hope that i do not lose sight of who i am as a person and get spiritually lost due to the continuous abuse that I too suffer since 2010 I know that one poster on here doesn't believe in prayer , but I keep praying that i will get my individual autonomy my individual human rights finally respected and that I get out of this nightmare and Hell that a parent put me in all because he wanted to play God and live My life for me. I'm still holding on to what faith I can . Because i really do not want to go down 👇 that road again, I was once on that road before i found my Faith but i do not want to go down that path and lose my Faith 😢
