A friend asked me something that stuck with me for years, ''would there be more or less dead victims if punishment against pedophiles were harsher?'' There will be more dead children. If the punishment were more severe, pedophiles are more likely to kill the child and hide the body in fear of them talking to the police. But, the sexual acts against the children would be even worse and more common if there was no punishment.
