He's getting louder and arguing, and another cashier comes over, and explains to this dude that the candy he grabbed was in fact from the 4.50$ shelf; directly above the chips. I sat there and just started laughing at the dude. He tried to say something as he left, but I couldn't hear it. When I was a kid, I was out riding my bike, saw a kitten across the street, parked my bike, walked across the street. A man pulled over and started to put my bike in his truck. I had to argue with him about it. He tried to say that I 'abandoned' the bike even though he could clearly see me and knew full well what he was doing. When my girl and I see bake sales or lemonade stands, we typically buy a small amount and tip a lot. Like give a 20 for 5 bucks worth of stuff. It really makes their day and encourages more wholesome stuff.
Yea, my old friend group and I literally made kids entire week. I had a really good friend group in and out of highschool (til life happened and we all got married/ went in different directions) The 5 of us pulled up to this stand one time and we all got lemonade, extras for the party we were going to (we put them in bottles and crap) and he was also selling toys, so us being teenagers bought all of his lightsabers to play with later when we were drunk and this was all about 30-40$ and we just pitched in, gave this 10 year old 100$ and he’s like “I don’t have change for this” and we just said “yea we know just keep it” and drove off before he could even process it
When do adults switch from children who know about selling lemonade as socially acceptable way to make money to adults who hate children and want to destroy every lemonade stand because its "illegal"

my heart broke when i heard the presenter point out the older sister was already pouring the man a cup of lemonade, assuming he was there to help kids raise money, but instead gives them a ugly truth of this world, that is absolutely disgusting behavior for anyone especially a grown ass man
Not just the community and neighbor's. But also firefighters, policemen and even biker gang's that came miles away just to help these kids, soo wholesome
Our neighbors had a similar experience, they had a bench by their mailbox to sit and watch their kids in the street. A contractor came to work on a neighbor's house and for whatever reason assumed a bench by the side of the street with pillows on it was free. He tossed the pillows and loaded the bench onto his trailer. Someone posted their camera footage to a neighborhood chat and the guy called the contractor and told him to bring it back.
Okay now that could be an honest mistake imo. There’s a difference between a bench just on the side of the road (admittedly with pillows on it, but still) and a plastic table and chairs with a huge LEMONADE STAND sign infront of it.
There's a lot of complete a-holes in pickup trucks out there who basically seem to make it their goal to try and fill their truck up with as much crap as they can from the side of the street, under the guise of _"It must be abandoned/free!"_ And it could be anything... even total junk. Like some of the other comments, I've seen it myself, and there's been a few times we've had to be careful because you could tell someone driving by was eyeing tools we were using. Also got a Ring cam recently, and I swear, there was one day I saw the one of same pickup trucks I've seen do that before drive up and down our street like 10X throughout the day.

I’m the man who’s gonna burn your house down! With the lemons! I’m gonna get my engineers to invent a combustible lemon that burns your house down!" And he did indeed make combustible lemons to burn their house down.
I certainly hope not. His spawn will see their piece of crap dad, and think it's perfectly okay to get over on other people, even little kids when they eventually grow up. Sad, really.
Be funny if the thief was now on the other side of town with his own lemonade stand. That's why he threw the sign away, as he wanted to make his own one.

Imagine you are a kid, putting effort, selling lemonade at the stand who paid your parents for you and seeing all disappear because a douche stealed from you
My first thought about this was also "he might just be thinking it was stuff people were throwing away so it was free". I remember where I used to live in Australia we could leave furniture and other big things that would not fit in the trash (and would force you to drive to a landfill or whatever) out on the sidewalks so people could take stuff if they wanted, and then after a few days (don't remember how long) the government had garbagemen collect what was left. However, that was only during specific dates. It was all a LONG time ago, when I still lived in Australia, so my memory is hazy and it might not be the case anymore (it was in Sydney).
That's a nice way of looking at it, but you also have to consider this guy broke traffic laws just to get over there, reversed in the middle of the road, parked on the wrong lane, then loaded up stuff that had a sign on it that he read and tossed away. That's also just not a thing in American cities by the way. This kid probably had a city permit for the stand. In rural areas, sure people leave stuff out by the road a good bit(it can be very unsightly seeing big gross couches on the side of the road for weeks or months). It's unofficial finder's keepers, but usually it just gets picked up by the trash trucks eventually.
Could be, a lot of people will leave stuff out if they don't want it, but if there was lemonade stand equipment plus a sign I doubt he thought it was free stuff.
I live in Glastonbury UK - here, you can walk down the road and there is furniture, clothes, shoes, all free to good homes, in good condition, saves alot of folk alot of money. It's an ideal place.
That's also the general unspoken rule here in the states, people put old furniture by the curb for people to take before the garbage collectors grab it, it's how my old roommate obtained the current sofa that I have in my apartment. Though, usually people can tell the difference between old furniture and an active lemonade stand, especially if there is a sign on it.
Yeah thats what I was thinking. The "stand" is just a table and chairs right up against the road with no cups, lemons, or anything else, just a supposedly old cardboard sign. So the guy likely assumed it was unwanted. Very common for people to leave furniture and random things by the curbside for whoever wants it.
the irony of a guy in a 50,000 dollar truck stealing a kids lemonade stand is outstanding.
Who knows how much of that truck he actually owns and how much is owned by the bank. Just because somebody drives an expensive set of wheels doesn't mean they actually have the money. Him having the need to own such a truck to compensate for someting would also explain why he's such a d***.

Yea, my old friend group and I literally made kids entire week. I had a really good friend group in and out of highschool (til life happened and we all got married/ went in different directions)
The 5 of us pulled up to this stand one time and we all got lemonade, extras for the party we were going to (we put them in bottles and crap) and he was also selling toys, so us being teenagers bought all of his lightsabers to play with later when we were drunk and this was all about 30-40$ and we just pitched in, gave this 10 year old 100$ and he’s like “I don’t have change for this” and we just said “yea we know just keep it” and drove off before he could even process it

Did the fucking sing say FREE SHIT??? i don't thin so.
In Poland we have a "exhibition day" twice a year, where you put some old or broken furniture in front of your house and everyone can just take it
I live in Glastonbury UK - here, you can walk down the road and there is furniture, clothes, shoes, all free to good homes, in good condition, saves alot of folk alot of money.
People do that here as well. But they usually put a sign that it's free and post a "curb alert" on local social media
