- In this episode we continue our Thailand Tour of Isaan by taking more of a look at Khon Kaen. We will go to the Golden Pagoda south of the city and take a look around, eat lunch with our new friends, get the motorcycle washed, Check out some classic cars for rent, eat a Sunday roast dinner, Check out a huge Night market and even sample an Isaan specialty made from ants. All before saying goodbye to Khon Kaen. Enjoy the Ride

Glad you enjoyed my home town Khonkaen, Ton Tan market is a great place to go out at night and eat, They also have a shabu there which is only 219baht per person all you can eat, my wife and I love the place.

Sorry I missed you. I have been living for the last five years roughly 60 kliks from K K I was stationed at the RTAB Nam Phong back in the early 70’s . Have fun on your trip and keep the shiny side up
Another great video..I'm really enjoying these. The C4 Corvette is cool and would be my choice with its digital dash which was way ahead of the opposition in its day. The Buick is a super I think. The holes/ vents on the fenders are know as " ventiports" and it only has 3 if it had 4 on each side it would be a " Roadmaster". I also like the Toyota Celica. The Brits call the Peugeot..we pronounce them .." Persjow". The light blue car is a British Ford Anglia ( same as in Harry Potter) The Citroen look like Citroen CX's with the rubber rear spoiler one looking like a CX GTI turbo. The yellow car is a VW Passat and the light blue behind that is a British Austin 1300 by the looks of it.
The yellow car is a Vw 1500 fastback and an early low nose example

It's a beautiful pagoda, my better half is still at our house in KK whilst i'm in the UK and she still goes there regularly, and I do when in town. very peaceful and serene. Also Ton Tan is a great place to go and eat and look around the stalls. It looks very quiet compared to pre covid, but definitely worth a visit
Enjoyed your limited touring of KK, seems there’s so much to see, very impressive, definitely on my bucket list after that introduction.
The girls are friendly and liked your choice of meals .

Yes good vid there lucas, never been to khon kaen but it looks very big. Maybe next time you go you need to spend a full week there !!! I've never bought the bird's outside temples,they just catch them again and re sell them. Not good karma for the bird's I think. The seller does a good trade. Keep up the good video lucas. So, when my guys and I used to make long runs on the Harley’s , we always either put them up clean or usually first thing in the am before breakfast, gave them a wash down and a quick coat of “Harley Gloss”.. helps prevent oxidation, pitting in the chrome, and prolongs wear and tear....just part of the day when running long and even after day trips, like to put the iron horse down clean. Even in my solo runs.... four trips to Sturgis.. from Maine in 89; two more from Jax, FL; and the last time in ‘08 from North Carolina.... just after I married my Thai wife. Thanks for the tour Lucas.... and we always keep the dirty side down. :-))

It's got to be 2 eggs for breakfast! I noticed an old Ford Anglia, with the reverse sloping in rear window, in that classic car garage, my Grandfather had one of those back in the day. Love Vee's nail polish colour btw!
Back in the latter part of the 60’s all that was there was a red laterite road, several temples and two military bases. I used to drive through inthe way to NKP.
On the way
I owned 2 Peugeot, while living in Washington and Williamsburg, Virginia. Drove the second one way over 200,000 miles and bit was like new when I traded it for a Toyota pick-up
their pagodas and temples .. they decorate them with such dedication and detail it strikes me every time

Good to have a homecooked meal , I stayed in Ban Phai, town south of Khon Kaen, a friend cooked us a great meal after a long trip from the States... I prefer my red ant eggs in an omelet, looks like a great trip so far..are you Lucas McCain, " the Rifle Man" 5555

There are several places in Pattaya that do an "English Sunday roast" and one on Soi Bukou does it for 100bht

Best roast dinner I've had in Thailand was in Chiang Mai at "Archers Restaurant & Bar" - just off the zoe in yellow drinking area. 🍽

Hi, please be aware of high pressure washing around your Motorcycle chain . It cleans out all the grease inside the O Rings, and you end up with a worn out chain. Love the Vlogs, Take care.

Thwangdeng Khon Kaen is best club in whole Thailand it would be closed so next time I would recommend you to visit it when you are back to khonkaen.

First real racing bike Peugeot PX 10 with Campanolo groupo all round.
I rode a bus from Bangkok to Khon Kaen, 8 hours of misery. .I flew back, just over a hour, $15 for bus, 35 to fly..

Khon Kaen from what I understand is also home to a University that had a lot of Medical related studies, and I do believe in the area outside of the city Boon Rawd Brewing has a Large facility as well

I've never tried the ants, but I have tried the deep fried salted mini green tree frogs and they were great with cold Chang. Then again, what snack doesn't go well with cold Chang?
