You just solved my problem. I just finished my first kitchen hand towel. I couldn't keep my son from drying his hands on the dish towels. I must admit the towel is quite ugly but he says he loves it and it's exactly what he wanted. So, I'm happy with my first project. Your videos are a great help. I have much to learn. Oh, I forgot to put paper on the yarn. Your children are lovely, happy and busy.

Thank you Kelly, great idea. I actually did something similar when I was having an issue with a sticky yarn I was using. Only I didn't think to put it to the back, I just kept inserting it for every down shed pick, iin front. 😕 Love your way MUCH better. 💗

I use this technique most ever time I weave. It’s a great way to tighten up the threads as well

beautiful loom. I'm just starting on a small one. I dream about such a professional loom! Very nice and helpful movie. I also lift the threads with a shuttle, at the end of warp threads. I am happy when I saw in the film the same way as mine, because I am self-taught. Some ideas come to me, and some I find on the internet. Weaving is great!

Wonderful tip to try! But for using with my handspun, I think I still want to use a dummy warp. I hate to waste even one yard of handspun yarn if I can help it, esp when I have done all my own processing of the fleece(s). Some of my yarns have silk blended into them, and with all that work, expense, and time, I hate to have a lot of handspun yarn wasted.

Yes, you can give it a try, there will inevitably more waste on a floor loom, but you can try whatever works 😊
