    I ordered $50 worth of items and for a first time user I had a coupon for $25 off $50. So I paid like $27 all together.
    I got my son a lightsaber for Christmas and it ended up being much better than I could have ever expected it had 7 different light colors and sound effects when you hit something. Ordered a Bennie that was great quality surprisingly a belt that was like $2 but works very good. A cap for my daughter with cat ears and goggles built in, she loves it (my only complaint is it says high fashion on the front) and a couple other items that were a good deal.
    My order arrived a day late and they gave me a $5 credit that I used to buy an extra large hoodie for $10 after the discount and it fits and feels better than a $40 one I bought. I'll definitely be using them again. The price fluctuations kind of suck but still a good deal would recommend.

      @@nickt2559 Temu uses the exact same manufacturers and factories as the stuff you’re buying from a supermarket or big store like Macy’s or Walmart or whatever. They reason that temu is so cheap is that it’s direct manufacturer to consumer products instead of being sold to a middle person first. While I agree that it’s probably bad working conditions, it is absolutely no worse than the usual stores you’d buy the exact same products from. You’re just saving money because the owners of the stores aren’t taking a big cut. Shein on the other hand, I have no idea. The "Game Boy" is an NES Emulator. NES games did not have any way to save scores naturally. In later years batteries were added to carts to allow game saves, but out of the 678 released in the US, only 58 had the ability to save a game. And while most software Emulators have a "save state" feature, the ones used in device like this are very much the most basic code needed to run a NES rom file.

    • @monhi64
      @monhi64 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Wouldn’t you think a game that claims it has a high-score leaderboard be one of the games that was designed to save stuff? Honestly the shitty emulator devices always have issues with saving regardless of whether the game was coded to save anything, whether that’s software or hardware cheapness I’m not sure. But I’d take it as a win that it’s even running the games correctly and the games aren’t knockoffs. Lots of them will have shit like super Mario 5 which isn’t even a Mario game that exists and you’ll open it and it’ll be a random game where they just swapped out Mario to be the main character sprite 😭

    I can see the writing tablet being useful on my desk. I often scribble stuff on paper while on the phone and then transcribe it neater and more organized wherever it belongs. This would save a lot of paper in uses like that.
    I also just bought dry erase cards for us to use in games like Scattergories, where again, four of these in the box…
    It could be very useful in the right situation.
    Also, if a fingernail works, it isn’t capacitive, so anything hard and pointed should work.

      The thing he forgot is that most likely those glasses do not block UV rays. There have been some research studies done that showed that most knockoff glasses do not block UV rays and because of that some people have serious suffersd problems. One lady who went to the beach a lot ended up getting eye cancer and losing her eye. Her doctor said that if she had been wearing glasses that blocked UV rays she wouldn't have lost her eye. With the ozone thinning faster than Donald's hair it's very important to get sunglasses that blocks UV.

    • @Jonathan.D
      @Jonathan.D ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Iamonepercent Haha. That's some great satire. I guess you know better than the thousands of real scientists who have actual proof that greenhouse gases are continuing to rise at an alarming rate. What you fail to grasp is that even if you repair the ozone layer it will still naturally allow UV rays to pass through it as it always has. Since you have no clue how anything works I'll explain it in a way that even a 5yo can understand. When you wear sunglasses your pupils dilate to compensate for the reduced amount of sunlight entering the eye. When that happens your eyes take in damaging amounts of UV rays. If you have sunglasses that filter out(or block) the UV rays then it's not a problem. Cheap glasses let the UV rays right into your eyes and damage them. As for the ozone, what's making things worse is the thawing of the artic permafrost that's allowing massive amounts of natural gas to escape into the atmosphere. Those pockets of natural gas do 20x more damage than most other common forms of greenhouse emissions(ie exhaust from a combustion engine). There are lakes in the artic that look like giant jacuzzis due to all the gas that's bubbling up through the water. Even in winter a hole cut through the ice and into the water below will produce a constant flow of gas that can be lit like a torch. That's because we are now and have been for some time, past the tipping point. Stop watching Tucker Carlson and wake up.

    • @mylt1z28

    the one thing I would worry about with the sunglasses is how does their UV protection stack up with other sunglasses? Of course years ago I managed a sunglass shop and that was one of the big things we were focussed on as to why the sunglasses we sold were $50 to way over $50 compared to the cheap glasses people could buy.

    As for Temu customer reviews I agree they need to be taken with a grain of salt. My biggest gripe is when they don't seem clear in what they are reviewing, case in point; there's a pretty snazzy looking duvet that only claims to be a duvet {Duvet: a washable protective cover for a comforter for those unfamiliar with the word} and several people complained that this *comforter* lacked the thickness and the fill they expected in one way or another. But the site in NO WAY tries to label it as a comforter and they misinterpreted it as what they wanted and not what it is. Despite this the same people still seemed to give it high marks despite it not quite living up to their misconceived expectations.

      Just to warn you, the emulation quality on this system seems to be somewhat poor*. Also, these "X in 1" systems almost never truly have the number they have. What they usually do is include some recognizable games, and then they put in hacks/palette swaps of those same games (ex. You get a hacked game called "Prehistoric Mario" that is just a Flintstones game with Fred Flintstone's sprite replaced with Mario)
      *You can notice the console dropping frames on the Mario ROM, and these cheap X in 1 consoles often have issues with input latency.
      If you want more info, just look up some gameplay videos of other X hundred/thousand games in 1 cartridges/consoles, since they tend to all use a similar code base.
      Just want you to be forewarned, and have this info up front.

      The "game boy" isn't a perfectly legal product, it's in a gray area. The game companies wouldn't go after you for buying typically. The games are taken from illegal download rom sites and sometimes homebrew rom hacks to make an special game that a publisher would never make. The latter isn't illegal but it's pretty uncool that someone's homemade game is taken for profit to just pad out the game count. It's more likely the handheld console he has here has maybe 100 actual games and is padded out with slightly different looking but the same games. The funny thing is that this thing has an easy to source lithium battery when it ever does die. It's an standard Nokia phone battery!
      I would recommend reading reviews before you buy one as that issue with not being able to save would upset any serious gamer who would want to come back to a game later. Temu or Amazon may have a different and better model. This one shown is an common cheap Chinese handheld console. Buttons aren't the best but it's made to an cost.

    • @MCraft-pt9nf
      @MCraft-pt9nf ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Another issue to note - I work with a lot of Chinese made ROM storage carts like this for homebrew. Many Nintendo games prior to 2003 used save batteries. So unless this device has ROMs that have been patched for flash memory (unlikely) you won't be able to save any progress. You *might* be able to install a battery.

    • @MrMega200
      @MrMega200 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@MCraft-pt9nf That would be down to the emulator because I've used roms in the emulator playing SNES games before and could save in-game. I think the emulator just made save files. But of course this console is so low budget to think of adding a little extra storage chip inside for saves. Wouldn't take very much for these old games.

    • @MCraft-pt9nf
      @MCraft-pt9nf ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@MrMega200 you're right. It does depend on how it is being emulated, but I highly doubt it's a decent emulator. So at the end of the day they're going to be in the same spot - no saves.

I also ordered a tube of hair elastics for ponytails. 98 cents for 20 and the quality was better than what I buy in the stores for three times the price. I bought knock off Crocs for 4 dollars and they fit perfect and are comfortable. I use them for gardening. I was also impressed with a silicone mold I bought to make flowers for cake decorating. Same quality as the ones I bought for 5 times the price. Always look at the dimensions of a product so you won't be disappointed that it's too small. So far I've been happy and thanks for your review.

      But the quality of fabric and stitching that you expect of a costume, particularly a Halloween costume, is far less than what you expect on regular clothing, and there have been a proliferation of "Clothing Temus" - i.e. fast-fashion subscription services that send you a monthly surprise package of "cute little outfits" made with Halloween costume quality, for very little money. They last about 3 launderings and have been an environmental disaster and have ruined the second-hand clothing market.

    • @5siggi
      @5siggi 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@rodneykingston6420 That's what I expected, cheap Halloween costume with bad stitching. The material was not cheap costume material. It was good quality and well stitched and has held up through many washings, just like a store bought dress from a department store. That's why I was shocked. Maybe I got lucky and the others are crap.
      I understand your concern about other costumes being crap and not lasting long and therefore being environmental disasters. I agree with you and wish there was some way to recycle them. My oldest granddaughter does buy used clothing and restyles them but you can't do that with cheap material that is falling apart. The costume accessories of cheap plastic is another thing that shouldn't be made. You know that will break in a matter of hours or maybe even minutes and is a waste of money and more plastic in landfills.

    I used Temu one time and I will say that I had low expectations and in some cases that was the case, but in others I was really quite surprised. I bought very cheap headphones that go around the back of your head and sit in front of the ear so that you can hear other things going on around you,. I use them all the time. They are light weight, volume is easy to adjust, and they turn on and off easily. One of my favorite headsets. My duds were a $1.98 set of fake nails, and, actually, the most expensive thing that I bought, which is a dog bed that fits on the consul between the seats in my car. The nails were too small for me and not advertised as being for a child or tween, which they are perfect for, so not a total dud. As for the dog bed, it was for my 4 pound Chihuahua, and it seemed perfect for him as he’s very unhappy in his car seat on the passenger side. The leash to hold him in the car seat was made from a half inch wide ribbon. Thin ribbon that frays like the kind you tie a bow on a package with. This on a $20 item. Couldn’t believe it! As most of the stuff I purchased was about two dollars, if I didn’t like it I figured no great loss. The only way I will order from them again is if I am going to purchase something on Amazon that is likely to be on Temu as well, and it will save money, and still has free shipping, then I’ll order from them.

      I bought the same flashlight he tested. It works good, especially for the price. I bought 3 sweaters for my Wife, she loves them. Quality seems really good. I bought a couple battery powered tire pumps. Very slow, but they still work. Best if uses just to add a few PSI to your tire. Overall I'm pretty satisfied with the products

      imo power banks are not a great place to try to save a buck. Cheap lithium batteries are time bombs. Just make sure you don't leave it in a hot car or under your pillow at least :)

    I have one of those thermometers and it's plenty good for the most common home cook jobs - fudge, ice cream, large meat roasts.
    Things that take a long time or you can leave the thermometer in happen to be the things the thermometer is needed for. In those cases, the slow update speed isn't so bad.

      I agree. I would say that a 2 dollar meat thermometer vs a 70 dollar thermometer isn't a fair fight, and that if I was just testing whether the meat was at a certain doneness .. once it its that spot, I'm done. I don't care if it is going to hit 160 if I just need to know that it hit 145. For what I'd need it for, it's definitely not a dud.

    The "tablets" screen is of a technology type that simply needs to be refreshed all at once. That's just how it is... It's also kinda nice that such a primitive thing is ultimately packaged into a cheap, flimsy, plastic shell... it suits it well tbh. It should be a paper'esq thing, of which you just quickly use in a utilitarian way. As you'd observed, notes, whiteboard stand-in or alternative, etc. The cheapness matches its use case and novelty, which all adds up to basically a disposable, commodity level, dirt cheap, bargain bin, grab bag, yet useful and/or usable item. It's a win to me... it is what it should be.
    The shoes (only other thing worth chiming in on imo)... basically Wallyworld kickers. You can get the same deals there, and on a semi wide variety of looks, of which are ultimately comprised of similar materials, feeling the same, with or w/o laces, similar weight (or lack), etc. And yeah... all around the $10 mark. . . When you just need a pair of decently comfy, maybe one time use even, whatever colored "shoes", they are often a good route to go. And most Walmarts are on your way to wherever you're heading when you happen to have the need for such a thing. I'm usually in steel toes, so when a thing like that just pops into existence, I have indeed just popped into a Walmart and got a "right now" shoe. Most of which then get used for around the house, in/outside, basement, local quick trips, etc. No need to give up your credit/debit info to Temo for such a thing, lol.

      the 70 dollar thermometer was about 35 times more expensive, and only 30 times as fast. id say the 2 dollar one won that competition.

    I've only made one purchase from Temu thus far - a set of four metal utility hooks with adhesive mounts and they work great. As I recall, it was less than $2 for all four - and free shipping. Not bad. And those sunglasses look pretty good on you.

    Im waiting for my items to arrive. I park them on the cart for a few days before buying. I noticed some items were reduced in price. I bought a total of about $70. But lots of small kitchen items mainly. I did vet only items I would really need because hubby and I are seniors and I downsized to a much smaller space. But the prices are too reaonable for me to resist so it remains to be seen if I judged wisely on the quality. Thanks for sharing your experience with Temu. It seems that its so aggresive in its advertizing everywhere these days.

    As an FYI for those contemplating ordering from Temu, the free shipping maybe monetarily free for you, but it's not free for the USPS or US taxpayers on the whole. In fact, the USPS subsidizes (via taxpayer money) the shipping costs for sites like Temu, which ship from China. For every free shipping order you make with Temu, it's adding to the United States debt burden. The USPS ends up losing millions each year to manage, sort and deliver all of these "free" China packages. This ultimately causes US postage costs to go up to subsidize the cost of all of those "free shipping" Chinese ePackets.

    I’ve ordered from them 2 times for a total of like 40 items. Female sunglasses, male rings and bracelets, laser pointer, drawing tablet , hats and head wraps all sorts of stuff. Also got 2 kalimbas (thumb pianos) that were of good quality. Wouldn’t say everything is perfect but for the price definitely can’t complain! I am satisfied

    I use the tablet for studying. After writing notes I'll write down what I recalled on the tablet without looking at the notes, and do it repeatedly until I memorised.
    It's nice, durable and you can use any pen really, I lost mine a long time ago.
    I just wish it was larger and brighter. Otherwise it's a really good deal!

      You lose and our country loses. Not one cent supports a worker even in a store in the USA. Even the delivery of these items within the USA rips off the post office and tax payers who have to subsidize the loss our postal service realizes with the delivery of each of these items shipped direct from China. It's call being selfish and uncaring.
