Flawless execution. I love it how you play so economically and don't use any more energy than the absolute minimum necessary, in every movement you do. That leaves room for twirls and funny faces. I salute you and feel very inspired now.

The key to playing fast for long periods of time is not to push speed but rather focus on relaxing and minimizing the effort you put into drumming. Super chill and extremely fast dudes like Ken Bedene or John Longstreth are perfect examples.
I'm in love with the beginning and the ending. They're just so beautiful and elegant. Then the rest of the song is neckbreaking. Truly a killer song. The whole song is great as a whole.

The Egoism which we also played live has a 300bpm blast in the end. I play it in 8th note triplets at the moment. Cause it's a bit too much for me right now. But maybe in the future I will be good enough to play it properly. That would be great.

Fastest blast was a hammer just shy of 280bpm. So, for me to watch you play blows my mind! I'm just getting back into playing. The last time I was on stage (until 9 days ago) was January of 2017, with a rock band. The last time in a studio was early 2018. I was happily married approaching 40. I pretty much stopped playing drums mid 2019... My life fell apart last January. My wife left me. It was not expected, horrible luck and terrible happenings caused major debt and I'm no longer the person I was. Life broke me. After months of being depressed, reclusive and drinking heavily, I got a call from a musician friend 5 weeks ago. One of his bands (A working band with a following) needed a drummer, fast. They used a session drummer for the new album and needed a permanent drummer starting then with a show in 2 and a half weeks. It's fast a hardcore punk band with bits of grind. It's actually pretty fast. There's a a lot of fill work with a bit of double bass and blast. I had only touched my drums 3 times in 18 months, the last time being 6 months ago. I figured if something was going to help get me back to being me it's music. I practiced almost every free hour I had leadingup to the show. At 42 and out of shape it messed me up (I injured my shoulder, wrist and ankle), but I played the show perfectly last week. I took a week off to heal and have a show this Saturday with many more booked. I have to say, I feel better that I'm playing again. Not great, but definitely better. I also feel old, achy and slow, but that will change with more practice. You inspire me to relearn better techniques to aid against hurting myself. You also inspire me to take better care of myself, as well.
@@niffingig5143 X Japan's drummer has similar struggles with age-related issues too. It's all about technique and minimizing the more extreme movements, letting the drums themselves do more of the work for you. Distributing the load over lots of different muscles and all that.
