- About 100 Israeli hostages, kidnapped by Hamas during the terrorists' October 7 assault on Israel, have been released after more than 50 days in captivity. Dr. Itai Pessach (whose team at Sheba Medical Center, near Tel Aviv, interviewed and examined many of them) describes to CBS News' Lesley Stahl the harrowing physical and psychological abuses he says Hamas perpetrated upon its captives, from branding to rape, as well as the traumas that people on both sides of the border war are experiencing.

I know some employees from the Red Cross in France and in other countries. They mistreat their employees and they always hated Israel and Jewish. Previously, for the 6 days war and the Yom Kippur war, the Red Cross refused to give medical help to the Israeli soldiers while they are supposed to be neutral.

It's what many of us suspected. I think many of the hostages that have shared their stories so far probably deny having been raped because that degree of trauma and violation is so personal and hard to talk about in comparison to not having enough to eat and being watched like a hawk. And considering that it didn't happen that long ago, I'm not expecting complete transparency in these interviews. If anything, people often downplay trauma in the beginning because it's how they cope.
Please, no Jesus. We are Jews. Respect our beliefs, cultural and religious. I wish you peace.

Palestinian Arabs do not feel 'the same.' They were not hostages. They were not raped or burned alive. Instead, they were celebrating October 7 on the streets. There is hours of footage showing them beating hostages or dead bodies when they arrived in the Gaza Strip.

The Palestinians are victims of Hamas too and live in fear of them. Thousands of Palestinians have been tortured and killed by Hamas. Although there are some beliefs, including military analysts that declare "there are no innocent people in Gaza, even the babies are not innocent".
Anything that happens to innocent people is horrible, just like the stories of survivors of hostage taking.
Either we logically apply this belief, don't apply if at all, or, divulge our racist beliefs by only applying the label to one people worthy as worthy of suffering.

This is beyond sad and scary. We can’t begin to comprehend it. Actually just looked up this video because I had a very vivid dream that I somehow wound up in that country and I was one of the hostages. I thought I was gonna die so many times and I just remember talking to God so many times. It was a dream, but surrounded by men with guns. I never felt so terrified. I can only imagine how they feel.

he not only got an interview, he got a place to stay, therapy sessions, food. until they realized nobody knew him and he wasnt even there.. the people from Nova are one big community that meet each other in such events every now and then. every one of them that has survived, had lost dozens of friends there. most of them are getting therapy in groups together because of that. they are not strangers. many of them were under the effects of drugs, and that makes the emotional trauma even more complexed. the fact that there was a sick dude lying, does not nullify the trauma of the 3000 people that were there.

Sexual abuse is a very vague word. Yes it has a meaning which is bad but it is manifested in different ways. The doctor could not confirm there was rape or any other form. So far al the videos of hostages interviewed titled -sexual abuse - have them saying they feared being abused but not actually being abused. Everything is not clear and the media isn't doing their work
Do you think a young married woman who was adopted and raped would openly say it as it is without regard to how her husband would feel?
The IDF dictates what goes out of the hostages mouth, especially after the first few released hostages spoke freely, in uncensored fashion sighting no harm was inflicted on them by their captives. The Israeli propanganda is looking for victory somewhere through unfounded sympathy.

Unless you know facts about another allegation of branding (“like the Holocaust”) they have referred to the boys with motorcycle exhaust burns on the inside calf of their legs. This is a story being kicks around the propaganda field to promote fear and hate just like the story about 40 be-headed babies. Fact: two of the young boys were released with burns. The rest is 3rd party deduction. I understand Oct 7th was a shocking event but facts are important and this one seems obviously false. I have had access to motorcycles for decades and I know people that have had these exact burns by accident.

Israel massacred over 250 civilians during the year preceding Oct 7. When didn't SM report this? @proronen not one released hostage has testified that they were abused or raped. Doctors and law enforcement have collected NO forensic evidence of rape. No one who experience the attacks of October 7 has testified that they were raped.
