I buy two Sideral, blue and yellow as I use them for different use cases. The yellow Sideral is indeed a fun watch to wear during weekends or sporting. The blue Sideral I change the strap to a black color which cost is cheap. Then this blue Sideral with black strap becomes a working horse diver watch and I would like to try it on next week work.
@@CroRaven84 A very friendly AD calls me there is black strap available for this Sideral at the boutique located at Marina Bay Sands. The Sideral strap is very soft and have high quality which I immediately agree to buy.
Mike you're such an excellent orator. I've been binge watching your channel. I hope we get to meet in person someday and talk watches. You're amazing. And not to mention, an amazing take on this timepiece. You have a fan for life! Keep up the excellent work.
Scrolling through your video history and this got my interest; because I own this! I was looking for a while looking to expand my watch collection and just kept coming back to the Sideral. It's fun, it's different and it is a quality watch. Very comfortable to wear, the strap is probably over-engineered but it is so comfortable and perfect for the summer weather. The thing is, I don't love it and in the process of moving it on. It's one of those watches that ticks every box on the spec-sheet but for me it wears a bit too high on my wrist and I think that's the actual kicker as to why I don't want to keep it. The same day I also bought a Doxa Sub-200, in the first few months the Sideral received the majority of wrist-time but as time went by I did fall in love with the Doxa and it's surprising versatility and in blue it's a classy looking watch. The Sideral is a great watch and many others will love it but it is that brightly coloured convertible car you enjoyed for a year or two but then it's time for someone else to have a go with it.
It certainly is unique! I would rather have this than the Moonswatch! The problem is that this is very niche and pricey. Id rather get a dive watch with a funky dial. Hope you have a great weekend and that you are staying warm in a not so hot SA! 👌👌
@@Mike.thiswatchthatwatchyeah but you can change straps and that is why i like it and bought it in yellow, tone it down with a black strap 👍for those dark and dinjy uk months. Might even keep on the yellow so it brightens up those winter uk months
Bought a yellow one a few weeks back. Got 20% off retail through a work discount scheme. Primarily for a holiday watch but having worn it for over a week, it’s so much more. Not for watch snobs.
This watch caught my eye and I couldn’t stop thinking about it so I finally bought the blue one this week. It’s fun and funky and totally unique looking. Custom carbon case with great lume. Rubber strap is perfect for this - ultimate waterproof wash and dry off. My only knock is the bezel clicks aren’t as good as my CW but maybe I shouldn’t expect it to as I bet the carbon case took most of the budget.
You just laid down the analytics that might have explained why I kept looking at it on the shop window, smile and then move on to the g shock opposite the store
I couldn’t resist this watch and went ahead and purchased in blue. I absolutely love it. I wanted something cool and unique. Your review was spot on. Only thing I’d say differently is in my opinion, the strap is the star of the show. Great comfort and totally unique design. I forget I’m wearing it sometimes, which for a larger watch is impressive.
Great honest review. I personally would buy it as I love the look and I will wear it to office even. For me extremely formal watches dont go well with me. But something very casual I can get away with. I was thinking should I buy the Tudor 1926 or Louis Erard Sports Heritage or this as my next watch. Both Tudor and LE are way too formal in the way they want to achieve that sports aesthetic.
Thanks for this great review 😊 I'm late to the party 😂 but a few days ago I finally bought the blue Sideral. I really love this watch and yes, it probably won't sell as well as more conventional watches. But for me that was the reason to buy it - all the watches I own are more or less conventional and I was craving a watch like this: good specs, mechanical, reasonable price point and fun 🙂 I'm going to use it as an everyday watch - as I don't have a traditional office job, I can wear whatever I want at work 😉
I received my Sideral Yellow a few weeks ago. Outstanding comfort and an easy to read dial. I agree the strap is little finicky but it is very secure. Amazing lume. I love mine.
I think I fall into that category of “think it’s fantastic, but am unlikely to buy” and agree it’s a little too expensive to be an occasional thing, and a bit too quirky to go into regular rotation. For me it’s the sort of thing you’d pick up to wear on a beach holiday, then put away again until the next one.
Yeah the fastening system on the strap just doesn't look safe at all tbh with you pal? I would always be checking my wrist to see if I've still got the watch on! Great summer watch though with a very unorthodox / summer styling too.
I like experiments with lugs, like the original PR516, or Hamilton W10. Here the watch is big and almost 15mm thick. That design is playing against the size. It's wonderful with mid sized watches.
Many are going to love it,not many are going to buy it. I love that😊 that’s why I ordered the red one. It will look so cool when I’m hanging on Jeff Bezos yacht.
Great review, you hit all my concerns. I'm wondering if I do the watch for $900 (or $700 at JS) will it be $500 in 6 months? As for colors I the yellow is an eye grabber but I think I'm more the blue. Plus I could pair a black band with it down the road if I tired of it.
Very good analysis, I've just discovered this watch and I find it very interesting as for its design language, and I do think it may be a daily wearer for myself but only if I put it on the optional black bracelet which adds up to the price. P.S. Je ne tolère pas la sauce béarnaise, quels que soient les aliments ou plats que je mange avec ;-)
Not quite sure why you think the strap is thick. I have the "BLUE" version. Of the 13 watches I own, Omega and Rolex, there isn't a single watch thinner when the band is assembled on my wrist.
It reminds me about the french 70s Lip - "Mach 2000" model , 3 spheres crowns , Tallon's Design - but a Powermatic 80 inside and the retail price ruins the whole concept... everybody loves it no one buys it 😂
Absolutely love your work, and if you're not interesting in tips from someone who couldn't put a TH-cam channel together if he tried, then don't read any further. 1) Your audio could be higher. It sounds fine here in my living room, but I watch your channel on the treadmill, in a gym with typical-gym-techno music blaring overhead. So I have to have your volume up full and even then, I struggle to hear you clearly. Play your video here at a comfortable level, then play this Bark&Jack vid at the same levels: th-cam.com/video/TQI7VwilNwg/w-d-xo.html His is a good 3dB-6dB higher than yours and his is fine in the gym. 2) You frame your eyes at the screen-center, and it's a little ... odd, especially with the cabinet-top and chair-back effectively dividing the screen in two. Look-up the photography rule "Rule of thirds". It'll make your presentation a touch more professional-looking. 3) Your inter-scene graphics appear dead-center of the screen. In this vid particularly, they cover the watch-face. Especially if you ignore (2) above, these graphics might be moved to the top-left of the screen for more of a "Chapter heading" look. 4) I have 0 subscribers and you have three thousand. So I've no right to be advising you on anything 😆
A few places have this in the sales now… it looks a really nice proposition when discounted to £652 at Beaverbrooks etc… really appreciate your video, very constructive and considered, thanks.
Great review! I picked mine today in yellow. It’s fun and perfect for Summer. Also, the lume is outstanding!
The lume is burn your eyes off Seiko good. Have to agree on that 😀😀
M*A*S*H. Now that's a blast of nostalgia from my youth!.. Nice.
