Did you install anything else prior to this? I am on Mac and it will not connect using AP or Wifi. BF configurator opens the serial port then shortly after closes it.
Check your betaflight configurator, ensure Telemetry is enabled. I don't know why it's related, but when I disable telemetry, the wifi config won't work
