I found out what was wrong with mine, I had to do to the fly app as if I was going to actually fry the drone. And it updated all softwares for all devices. Then I went back to the simulator app and everything worked fine.
It definitely says it's ONLY available for iOS devices in the small print at the product page. I'm bummed about this as this simulator was actually a huge bonus for getting this drone. I'm seriously contemplating getting an iPad just to run this app as I'm not switching to an iPhone from Android. 😔

I was thinking of just getting an iPad, but still can't bring myself to do it given the already steep price of the drone, extra battery combo, and the joystick controller. That's not to mention DJI Care Refresh or a carrying case for everything. It's crazy that a company like DJI would not have any app they've developed on both platforms in 2021! I saw a new video today on TH-cam by DroneXfactor where he mentions this exact issue and says that he uses another FPV flight simulator to prep him since he hadn't flown FPV before, but I forget the name. He said it did the job but again, it's not a DJI product and definitely didn't look as polished or like the experience we'd get with the DJI Flight Sim app. Either way, it looks like us Android users will either have to shell out even more money for an iOS device (new or used) or compromise on the simulator experience, both of which are not ideal and kind of ridiculous.
@@bufootballa man I know it's pretty ridiculous. But luckily for me I do have a ipad that I can use so I will prob be doing it this route. Def gonna have to get the fresh care though and I am still waiting for the motion controller I have my drone but I couldn't seem to even get it connected so I am gonna try and relink everything separately. I noticed on the dji fly app it doesn't have a option when connecting to the aircraft . A "fpv " button so I'm kinda wondering. If maybe they haven't updated it yet. When u go to your dji fly app does it pop up as a connect option for you ?

You can use any Bluetooth game controller (i.e. Playstion or Xbox). Just need to add it in Settings on the iPad before opening the app. When you open the app choose smartphone control method.

It looks like the only goggles supported are the V2. Also the app is no longer supported as of March 2024. It is abondonware as of now. If it doesn’t work for you there is probably nothing that can or will be done to make it work.
I'm pretty frustrated too not being able to make it work. I have the integra goggles and even got the fpv controller 2 because it said wasn't compatible with motion controller and it still doesn't work 😡

one thing, you could connect the goggle with ipad or iphone with usb-c to usb-c cable, which works, but you need to make sure the goggle and controller are connected or initiated with "DJI fly" app

You can on a computer, but unfortunately, if you want to do it via a phone, you still have to connect the goggles. But on a computer, you can just plug the controller directly in to a USB port. The DJI simulator plus other simulators are available on a PC windows system.

You have to own the Goggles ($569) to run this simulator with a remote. I wanted to use it as well with my iPhone or DJI smart controller...but nope you have to own the Goggles.
Just got my dji fpv drone package.. I want to practice with the simulator 1st before actually flying the drone for real and I do not want to activate the drone as I want to practice 1st and see if I want to get DJI refresh care insurance before flying for real as of course I cannot get DJI refresh care after activating it.. Before purchasing the drone I checked with staff in the online chat service and at 1st they said I could not use the simulator and controller before activating ..then they said they looked into it and said actually I can and ar that point when they said I could I was ready to purchase the drone package but now I have it I cannot use the virtual flight simulator or the controller with any other flight simulator like liftoff at all and on calling back DJI they say I need to activate it 1st which is really frustrating.. It just doesn't make sense that I need to activate everything before I can just use the controller and not use the drone itself.. Do you know of any way of using the remote controller with or without the goggles or using the screen on my phone only without activating the drone itself? Thank you

I cant get my DJI FPV Remote Controller 2 to connect using phone only, Appears you have to use the goggle as well. the lights just blink on the remote (connected with OTG and usb cable)

So i got my avata yesterday. And i spend 2 hrs in normal and sport mode at the simulator.. so i turned it on manuall mode... why is my drone fly backwards... and up as i dont touch my controller? Is this a setting Problem? And will my drone do this also in real when i switch to the manuall mode fly for herself without touching the controller up and backwards? I dont find any answers at google or YT about this/my Problem.
can the controller be connected to the iPhone or iPad without the goggles? it looks like in your example the controller talks to the goggles and the goggles talk to the iPhone.

Trying to use the app, but it says "Press Start/Stop to continue" when I do this on the controller nothing happens. The controller shows 3 lights with the 3rd one blinking green. Any assistance would be appreciated.

I already have the DJI Goggles v2 and use them with the Air Unit. I’ve just bought a separate FPV controller on eBay thinking that I could use it with the Goggles and the Simulator. I’ve tried to pair the Goggles to the Controller by pressing the red button on the Goggles and holding the power button down on the controller. They beep and everything, but don’t seem to pair without the drone. Is there a way to pair the Goggles to the Controller without the drone?
Im having same problem and cant for the life of me just have the goggles and controller on (linked) without aircraft being on. When the aircraft is off the controller just flashes and the virtual flight app won't connect. It just says "connecting" on Goggle connection.....

Make sure otg cable is connected to goggles side rather than phone side.
Are you talking about the DJI Fly app? Update it, then connect, the app will see your FPV.

Yes! But that's okay. Connect the FPV, the app will see it. But first update the app itself

Yes you can plug-in your iPhone to the side of the goggles with the provided OTG cable And get a view of the drone by using the DJI fly App

So i got my avata yesterday. And i spend 2 hrs in normal and sport mode at the simulator.. so i turned it on manuall mode... why is my drone fly backwards... and up as i dont touch my controller? Is this a setting Problem? And will my drone do this also in real when i switch to the manuall mode fly for herself without touching the controller up and backwards? I dont find any answers at google or YT about this/my Problem.

can the controller be connected to the iPhone or iPad without the goggles? it looks like in your example the controller talks to the goggles and the goggles talk to the iPhone.

Hi Question for you I am having trouble connecting my goggles to my phone it keeps trying to connect to my phone I have allowed access nothing changes but on help page on the setup page on the simulator setup it says I have to go on the More option on my goggles but I do not have one what I am doing wrong?? I only have 4 options but on the help screen it shows 5??
But, this gives you digital video in... Why can't any other device use this signal? Like pc, it has to be connected through the av input.

I’ve been looking for an inexpensive way to practice Manual Mode for my Avata and I think this will work fine. I have the DRL Sim but don’t have a laptop with enough horsepower. 🤦 I did know where to find the solution. Thanks.
Ok so I got the goggles to work but the controller is not connecting. I'm using my iPad pro. Dongle to goggles to iPad. I'm getting a message saying unable to connect check whether the remote controller and the goggles are paired successfully
great video! i just found out the flymore kit i got w/the motion controller will not be compatible w/the simulator. not happy with dji on that. is it worth buying the RC to be able to use the simulator which also sounds like i'll have better control when flying for real?
Okay maybe I'm just dumb, as a matter of fact I am sure I'm dumb. What app are you using for the fpv simulator. I have the dji fpv combo and an android phone. I also have the dji fly app. I find no simulator anywhere on that app.

@@licanueto My friend works in the develop team,they have just 5 person(designers and programmers)in the team,and used most of their time to support devices and hardware links.Whatever,they finally made it,those two platforms just need more test and bug fix(PC maybe release later cause its need to support General HID input device and support retail stores.

I am trying to use de motion controler on the virtual flight , but I can not change to sport and manual mode on the app. Anyone with the same problem?
Trying to use the app, but it says "Press Start/Stop to continue" when I do this on the controller nothing happens. The controller shows 3 lights with the 3rd one blinking green. Any assistance would be appreciated.

@@sophiaelhorri1628 I ended up charging all batteries again, taking drone outside to pair it all again, then it came up with another update and once update was done all was good to go.

@@scalpthewick Hey. I actually did. My firmware wasn't the same/updated. It turns out you have to update from the "DJI FLY" app first before doing anything.
I have a request, do you have the same problem as I do with the dji virtual flight application, i.e. that the roll is on the left stick instead of the right one as during actual drone flights? can it be changed?

I already have the DJI Goggles v2 and use them with the Air Unit. I’ve just bought a separate FPV controller on eBay thinking that I could use it with the Goggles and the Simulator. I’ve tried to pair the Goggles to the Controller by pressing the red button on the Goggles and holding the power button down on the controller. They beep and everything, but don’t seem to pair without the drone. Is there a way to pair the Goggles to the Controller without the drone?
Im having same problem and cant for the life of me just have the goggles and controller on (linked) without aircraft being on. When the aircraft is off the controller just flashes and the virtual flight app won't connect. It just says "connecting" on Goggle connection.....
