You're inspiring me to get a doll house for my mother's 1940's doll furniture. Ugh. I don't need another hobby, but I've always loved doll houses and tiny things.
Go for it my daughter started me off because she did up a house then she wanted another one so sold it to me I changed all the furniture and decorated it different it still needs a lot more doing but its fun
This is great. When I was little my dolls lived in cardboard box houses furnished with things I found outside. It took a lot of pretending, but it was fun. Now that I write it down it sounds like my dolls were homeless people. :) Thank you for sharing.
I just realized that a doll house would be perfect for my great niece who has autism and loves collecting lil’ things and arranging stuff. It would be a great age appropriate activity as she outgrows the children’s collectibles and a great thing for her and mom to do together! Love you guys and how much you have to share 💕

Such a cute kitchen! You could use alcohol ink(found in craft stores) to age/ darken the bright jelly molds. I like that things are mixed ages. As we all know, when you have your own first house, it's always a mix of those treasures you take with you from your childhood home and new items bought as you can afford them. When a house is filled with love, it doesn't matter if it matches!!!
As a kid at home, we had a real radio like that, but the top of front folded down and had a turn table for playing records. All 3 speeds worked and the radio dial worked and the sound was awesome. What memories I had when you pulled that out.
Its sooo pretty ...A tiny utensil rack would look adorable next to the cooker, and maybe a pot geranium or some herbs... a lovely 30s/40s 'glass' lampshade would look great too x

Your both just like me with your minitures and my favorite room is always a kitchen with all the tiny bits and pieces, such fun. Love the holly wallpaper and the brick floor. I had that cat and kittens when I was small but somehow I lost the kittens they were so tiny. How exciting this is going to be. ❤❤❤

Love the house and the outside decoration Kate. Good choice. The brick floor covering fits in perfectly and the Christmas wallpaper adds excellent colour. One has to be joyful when preparing meals for family! Very down to earth contents for the kitchen, so well made.

I had a cardboard dollhouse when I was young and always wanted a wooden dollhouse throughout my sixty years but never really had the money for it. I just love your enthusiasm for miniatures and mud larking 😊😊😊
I'm so thrilled you included us in this furnishing!!!! I built my first dolls house in my 20's, for my young, newly married self! I remember the thrill of choosing special pieces. I also started making miniature food for it with Fimo clay. It was so new, there were no instruction books about it, but it was fun to be self-taught, too. Have fun with your new home!!!

Your kitchen is gorgeous! The buckety pan thing looks to me like a preserving pan,my mum and Nana used to use for making preserves, jam and preserved fruits and vege when we were kids, here in New Zealand. Btw I have jelly molds just like that on my kitchen wall today! Love it!! ❤️

I just loved the way you did your kitchen over and over again until you were satisfied . I had done the same with my dolls house and then gave the whole 33 years of collecting to my eldest daughter. I'm still in morning about it being in another state that is hard for me to visit. All memories are not forgotten just not here to share like I used to. A docent for my dolls house was a glories time for me. Now it's my paintings and you. I will say again I loved the way you did your house and I'm watching it again while typing this comment. May I suggest you look up Dolls' Houses Past and Present? It is a free, online group of very friendly people and there are lots of photos, discussions and info there that you might enjoy. We even have a quarterly e-zine with articles written by members and your houses would be of interest to members. I have twice started dolls house blogs but can't keep up as I'm carer for a grandchild and my 100 year old Mum. Lack of time and terrible photography skills hold me back. My house like this one of yours and Grandma Jean and Grandpa Roland, the residents, are my favourites! I'm not in my second childhood, it is more that the first one that has lasted for nearly 70 years 😂😂😂.

A while back we found a Triang dolls house from the 60's in the garage of my partner's parents' house. (They have both passed away now) Sadly the rain had got to it and the roof was heavily spoiled and the plastic covering for the roof was split. The electrics were heavily rusted, too. The front of the house was metal and that was heavily rusted. These houses need a lot of care to restore them and repair damaged parts, especially if they've been stored incorrectly as well as damage due to age. I gave up on it.

I have five dolls houses with the earliest being a 1964 Lines company one, who were bought out by triang. Yours looks very much like a triang house and very fine it is too! Enjoy restoring it with your mum xx
