- Battlefield 1 7 Years Later in 2023 is STILL a masterpiece. Incredible FPS game from EA and DICE from 2016 and has yet to be surpassed by them or, in my opinion, anyone else.

New Battlefield Game - เกม
Reminiscing this game is enough to make a grown man tear up. Battlefield peeked here and I've never been more immersed in an FPS game than when I was playing BF1.
You mean BF2 or BF3
@@alexplummer6397nah nah you don’t understand. Gameplay and mechanics is one thing but a battlefield to fully immerse you and bring such detail to the gameplay experience. It’s pure art. Sure peaks in the days of bc2, BF3 and BF4 imo tho gameplay wise
@@alexplummer6397No, he doesn’t mean BF2 or BF3, he said BF1. Take off your stupid glasses and try again.

Battlefield peaked at bf3
DONT LET THIS GAME DIE BOYS
Just reinstalled it on my PC
Never!
Just installed it lol
Me too just installed it
Holding it strong from S. Korea homies
Seven years in, and the kill sound is still so perfect.
How about the bayonet charge? The audio was fantastic.
i love it so much and the kill sound is ingrained in my head whenever im reminded of bf1. overall the sound design is awesome and it is by far the only game ive ever felt immersed in.
i can feel the dopamine addiction each time i hear that kill sound
Garand eed quality

It won't die, ever. It's art at its finest. Peak of gaming capabilities. A masterpiece.
I hope so, when i came bakc ot gaming after years of hiatus i was sad to find BF3 almost empty, i hope i can play BF1 still in 10 years.
i just started playing the game 4 months ago and honestly its the best game i have ever played in my life.
@@khorneflakes2175 Well keep in mind there is lots of games like btf 3 (kinda), want a more hardocore feel? you have squad, want a more casual one? you had battlebit (although i dont know how that is doing rn) but there is not a game like btf 1, there is plenty of modern war games, maybe even more for WW2, but for WW1 there is only this title, yeah you have more games but they tend to be more on the simualtor side. There is no game like btf 1.
@@semoq8903 I see your point, BF1 is unique for sure. BF3 has the nostalgia factor thought, i agree that Squad can be considered similar but it ain't no BF3, i suppose i'm like old wow heads missing the good ol times.
WW1 needs more representation in media
Battlefield 1 is practically responsible for the recent resurgence in WW1 media.
WWI will never be represented properly. An average normie, want a bog-standard bad guy (WWII German trooper) in the historical world event... and in the 1910s there wasn't one that falls into this generic description.
Diversity of war much needed in modern days!
LOL
*YES*
Hard agree
Totally agree. Love this game and find myself coming back year after year. You didn't even mention all the different vehicles, behemoths and modes. Such a unique game.

But to be honest the plane fights seem arcade, WW1 planes are done better in Rise Of Flight.
But I will give it a go? Curious if it meets the hype....
Goddamn 7 years?!?!?? That realization rocked me
its been 12 years since the OG MW3 came out. Its been 16 years since Spider-man 3 came out. Yeah time flies. We are closer to 2040 than 2000.
psssh imagine how I feel growing up on Bad Company 💀
Games on my backlog are rapidly becoming 'too old to play'. Between quotation marks, because graphics shouldn't be the main reason to be on a backlog list. But still...
@@CJ-jl6hfBad Company 2 was my introduction still to this day my favorite battlefield. They honestly should remake it. I don't give a damn it's just a graphic update but bringing back the playerbase and the absolute complete environment destruction which was actually the best of the series. You could entirely rip apart and collapse pretty much about every house. You could entirely deforest some maps which entirely changed the match. The game was perfectly balanced with its weapons and I never saw any issues after a 1000 hours of gameplay except maybe the drone. I could say so so much more but I don't wanna ramble on like a fanatic. This game though was legendary
@BoxOfCurryos ++
For me, it’s impossible to not smile and get all excited hearing about this game. This was my first bf game that I actually got better at the more I played. I loved playing every single minute of it and it brings back that awesome feeling I had for it.
Same for me. I'm an older player and when I first started out I was ass. But i decided to stop worrying about KD and played the objectives and I'm now getting more kills for it and scoring more per match.
Fr. This was the first big battlefield I got into
😊
Bf1 has the best Immersive atmosphere of any game I have ever played, I forget that I’m playing a game sometimes. Beautiful graphics and detail, and crisp sound design. The melee kill animations are so visceral and horrifying, they made like 8 different animations depending on the side you are on when you kill the enemy for each of the 3 types of melee weapons.
You clearly never played RDR2 or GOT
RDR2 has the best story. But BF1 gameplay is better and I have 2000 hours on Rdr2
@@Gin-San101 I have played rdr2 many times. I’m almost just as immersed playing it. I do find myself more immersed playing bf1 though, not saying rdr2 can’t be more immersive but the first person perspective hits slight harder to me than third person. I would play rdr2 in first person if it wasn’t so clunky.
7:21 Look at the chat LMAO
The least realistic WWI game ever made is immersive?
Man, I've been playing this game since 2017 almost on a daily bases. It got me into researching The Great War and no other game has done something similar. There will never be another game like Battlefield 1.
Same for me, I even went visit verdun and fort du voux and I'm telling you, Isn't pretty. I think is Because of all the dead, grief and mourning vibe. But I felt like it wasn't my first time... I've died a few tausend times on those battlefields
All they had to do was build off this success and bring that authentic gritty experience into WWII and they screwed it up. I'm still upset about that. Also as far as BF1 capturing the horror of war, I think they did great especially in the introduction, but I still gotta give that title to World at War.
World at War is definitely gritty and dark as hell too. Even that games menu is horrifying
@NovemberHotel Yep, I honestly get a bit depressed after playing that game. I can't imagine what the men went through.
I was like 16 when WaW came out good times. No censorship back then.
Literally all I wanted was operations mode but depicting the famous battles of ww2, how do you fuck that up.
@@cantbanme8971 I honestly don't know why they didn't bring back operations as it is in BF1 to either 5 or 2042
Especially with 2042, if you aren't going to have a singleplayer why not create stories through operations? Imagine what they could have done
the behemoth and the pickable classes are the thing that i really like in this game. The moment when the ship behemoth plays its sound is something else
The map intros, attackers advance themes, and end of round themes are so good too
I recently downloaded and played BF1 for the first time. I was immediately struck by how real the multiplayer felt. It genuinely felt like a was watching a battle unfold in front of me. It didn't feel like people being goofy in a battlefield game, it visually LOOKED like war.
It's even worse or intense with proper beefy headphones. On certain map the amount of barrages of artillery, shrapnel sounds and overall explosions gives you literal shell shock for a short duration. It's that intense.
Playing no HUD in this game is some of the most immersed I’ve been since I first played Hell Let Loose.
I play with very minimalistic hud and have a blast

If they could do a Vietnam game at this level that would be insane!!

Well they did do a Vietnam expansion for bad company 2. God I so wish they would remaster it
A Cold war era battlefield would rock ngl.
Loved the video! You're spot on with your commentary and you have a great voice for it too. I'm also glad you took the time to talk about the sound design, I know that personally, it's one of the aspect of the game that got me hooked the most. When your shots feel punchy and the sound design gives you such positive feedback (satisfying headshot sound, chunky shotgun blast, etc), it's so much more immersive and BF1 did a stellar job at it!
Probably the best battlefield game. The atmoshpere is just insane, playing breakthrough and pushing to the next objective while hearing the war screams and the whistles gives me chills to this date.
Something minor but really cool about bf1 is "Premium friends". If one person in a party has some of the DLC, then every in a group has access to then everyone in that party has access to those dlc. Really a clever feature. Also I really like the turning tides DLC in particular. The Hegiolyth blights map is my favorite because of how massive it is.
holy Shoot! i didn't know about this all this time!! it's minor but EPIC
Battlefield 1 will always hold a very special place in my heart.
I'll never forget that reveal trailer, and how after all the hype the game absolutely lived up to all expectations 🙌
Battlefield 1 was truly a masterpiece, and honestly historic too
I thank you so much for this video! It gave me chills and goosebumps through out the video.i played this game since the BETA and even had the pleasure to play Incursions before it was randomly removed. And being part of Flakfire's platoon waiting for Westie's new update video every week with more anticipation I ever had for any other game. This is one of the those games where you become the character you play as and almost feel bad when you get obliterated by a field cannon from across the map. Destroying the train on Argone Forest is thrilling, I beat the broken bottle challenge on Pashendale on my first try MY HEART NEVER BEAT FASTER!! somethings were frustrating like bullet deviation but sniping on Sinai dessert almost felt like cheating! Wicked easy. The sound of the whistle blowing before you charge in operation will always be one of my favorite parts of the game. I was mostly a solo player as most my friends didn't like the old guns but the maps and action was the cake for me. I loved flanking maps as a German soldier with his MP18 mowing down anyone who would dare oppose me. thank you DICE, EA for such an amazing game. PTFO!
The hip-fire on the MP-18 its so good, most of the times I dont even ads cause there is no need for it.
This game has gotta be my favorite game of all time, DICE really peaked here, this game is such a masterclass in immersion, art direction and sound design, to this day I've yet to play a game that has gotten me as immersed as BF1.
We were so spoilt and we never even knew it.
The last great game before gaming became a soulless costume party
Clearly never played GOT or RDR2
Someone needs to play Post Scriptum. Beats BF1 in every immersion category by miles.
Hell Let Loose is the closest I've ever gotten
BF1 is one of my favourite Multiplayer games, not a massive huge fps online shooter guy. BF1 drew me in with its excellent sound design, will never get over the motivation at the start of a game with soldiers running and screaming. Mid game is hell on earth, while the end game is the push for winning.
While its not a 1-1 accurate to ww1 it is very real feeling, its dark, gritty and is the most immersive modern AAA shooter to come out in recent years for me.
Great to see more videos appreciating this game, it deserves it.
Do people still play? I wanna re-download it
@@ElJCobberinoyes people still do I’m able to find servers everyday on console and I’ve heard pc also has a strong player count still
"not 1-1 accurate" is a bit of an understatement. BF1 is one of the least historically accurate games ever made. At no point does the title come close to capturing the atmosphere of WWI.
Planes zipping by, while a zeppelin explodes as i charge the enemy. Hooked ever since that scene. Literal art in motion
@tofu1608 you gotta admit it does recreate the chaos of war. Did u want linear trench warfare 😅
The Campaign was awesome too. I loved the war story format and the war stories themselves, from the signature trench warfare, to slogging through the mud as a tank crew, to fighting in the Alps, to storming the beach at Gallipoli, and sneaking through the desert on horseback as a Bedouin rebel. I loved the different settings, and how it educated about aspects of the war that may go overlooked.
The pilot war story was interesting, but it would have been better if we got to play as a German ace like the Red Baron or someone like that.
As a big WWI nerd, Battlefield 1 is definitely my personal favorite in the series. However I really do feel that in terms of core gameplay design and all out war feel, the series peaked with BF3. That was the last game where we had properly defended home bases for teams to roll out of (think Caspian Border), airfields to take off and repair aircraft, dedicated faction weapons with their own pros/cons, properly balanced classes and vehicles that would be in the spawn area waiting for you instead of just popping into existence out of thin air. Battlefield 1 has some design choices I take issue with, but those are really the continuation of changes originally made in BF4 (battlefield pickups, shared weapons across factions, no bases/airfields, etc). There was a lot of missed opportunities for unique faction vehicles and faction specific strengths, but my nit-picking aside you definitely hit the nail on the head with this one. It's amazing how much AAA games have regressed from the Golden Age.
Airfields were removed to due spawn trapping. Dedicated faction weapons were locked until you completed the progression for the kits. Classes are more balanced in BF1. The assault class was the most effective class for infantry in 3 and 4 while 1 every class is viable. Vehicles are balanced due to self repair. Vehicle regen is nooby.
Right on the mark about Battlefield 3. Bad Company 2 is my favorite but 3 is just millimeters behind
I still get chills when that trailer plays. I must have watched it a couple dozen times the day it dropped.
Absolutely my favourite game in the BF series. Loved every single thing about it. Sound, atmosphere, the maps, it was a truly gritty and intense game. Not many games come close to BF1’s immersion.
The sound it makes when you sit in gunner seat in a tank is incredible, it was my first day in BF1 and I will never forget its
my only ever "viral" gaming clip was in BF1 when i sniped like 3 guys back to back to back off the top of the blimp. The official Battlefield facebook page reposted it and it got a few million views.
Christmas time 2016, I just finished my semester and bought a gaming laptop during Black Friday Sales. I heard a lot about this Battlefield game and decided to play it starting from the single player campaign. Two enemies nodding each other and making a truce in no man’s land, flying as a pigeon and delivering the message (while The Fight of the Pigeon OST was on play), Ramboing and shooting down planes with armored suit on Monte Grappa, aerial dog-fights above London sky, stealth and night mission in Sinai Desert: I still remember all of them to this day. And the anticipating multiplayer gameplay, all the epic and funny moments, the rage, the adrenaline, the satisfaction: I was so into the game and played it constantly about 15 hours a day till the end of In the Name of Tsar DLC. So many good memories, man. So many good memories.
Even to these years, I occasionally think about those days and smile.
Curious, what laptop did you buy?
@@andybogdan4380 Initially, it was MSI GT75 Titan with two GTX 1070s in SLI. Multiple graphic cards in SLI configuration were quite popular back then and I remember the laptop came with two charging bricks which are ridiculously big. Because of portability issue, I had to send it back after 5 days of playing BF1 and got myself a Razer Blade Pro (2016). Played most of the game on the Blade afterwards.
It had been a long period in my life where I hadn't played a lot of games. Life happened and then somehow I tried BF1 and it reinvigorated my love for games. I used to play it on a PC below the minimum specs with 20-25 fps and I loved every second of it. The campaign, the maps, the chaos... Nowadays I have a bad ass PC, I play it with 144 fps and I'm thankful for every second spent with this game. Thank you to the developers!
Ditto. Long 15 year gaming hiatus that only BF1 was able to revitalize and ditto again... I loved every second of it. Black Friday at BestBuy while waiting in a long line, eventually passed by an XBox that had BF1 bundled with it. I still can't believe I picked it up while in line on a spur-of-the-moment decision out of curiosity to see if I would be interested in gaming again.
Several months and thousands of dollars later, I upgraded to a top-of-the-line pc gaming rig all for this game... and the Division, ngl, lol
I go back to BF1 and BF5 during the holidays months. Gets me in the cold winter vibes every time!
Heck of a video!! Brought back all the memories of the long online play sessions me and bro used to have. Passing the stick and trying to rank up. Time to finish the war stories. Maybe try to hit 86. Servers on PS5 are still full. As they should be
Let us promise here, to never let this game die.

everything about barttlefield 1 was amazing, the timing, the time line, the visuals, the stories, the gameplay, the community everything.
This is probably my third favorite battlefield game right behind Battlefield Vietnam and BF2142. One of my family members was one of the last Americans that was killed near Verdun in Meuse-Argonne Offensive. He was a 19 year old farmer from Wisconsin that was really good with horses.
I literally bought bf1 right after i saw this clip. Such unique introductuon of the game. Thanks for sharing thr clip btw
Just started playing this game again. Hard to find servers, but the people who still play are very dedicated. Best FPS of all time in my book.
You can find US servers easy on pc
how about ps4?@@splashboi898
Idk what server you are or what platform, but here in asia, there are so many servers with full of players lol
This is the pinnacle of FPS games. Nothing I have played before or since has come close to giving me the same feeling that this game did.
Ripe for a re-release.
Titan fall 2 is my kind of game and one I would personally put above it just for it's gameplay and campaign, but bf1 is solidly in second place, and I don't really have a solid 3rd so yeah it's definitely these 2 in my book that take the cake.
The fact these games were released days apart is actually kind of insane to me, 2016 will go down as one of the best years in media in general, the shear amount of great games and music to come out that year is astounding.
Absolutely spot on review.
This game was amazing when it dropped. My friends and I sunk so many hours into it and had an absolute blast.
I was a huge fan of the horses and the artillery truck.

I just recently started playing Battlefield 1 and the plane controls are a big step up from V! I'm excited to see what this game has to offer.
This is to this day my favorite video game of all time. No other game even comes close to how I feel when I'm playing this game and I am so immersed it's like I feel like I am literally playing a movie or actually a soldier in the war. And those epic moments are a regular occurrence in this game, not a rarity like in other games. I especially like the Operations game mode. The linear attack and defend back and forth is so well done. There will never be another game like this one. We are literally living peak total war immersive fps gaming, and I'm glad that I got to be part of it since the open beta. Dice and EA, my hat's off to you on this one. You have captured pure magic in video game form, and for that I thank you.

“Dawn of a new time” is one of the most beautiful songs I’ve ever heard from a games soundtrack. When the girl comes in and starts singing is just perfect. The first time I heard it, I sat there on the main menu and listened to the whole thing.

i played this game day 1 and loved it. Sales numbers speak for themselves on this one too. I do remember the hardcore battlefield fans having problems with the casualization of the game, but as a fan since Bad Company 2, I really loved this entry even more than 3 or 4 personally. Bad Company 2 just barely misses my number one spot though lol

I remember waiting on the countdown till the reveal trailer for this game. This game was ahead of its time it is a masterpiece. But my favorite battlefield game is bf4 I love how many people are still on that game and it’s hitting 10 years old this year. Crazy how time flys
Have you played Golden sun? It still holds well even when it was released two decades ago. Its has one of the most complex job systems and puzzles for a handheld game. Like at the start of a battle, your a knight then if you used a certain skill, you will rank down as a squire changing you moveset and stats at tge process only to return to normal after a few turns or after the battle.
Never could get into this game. I preferred Bad Company 2, Battlefield 3, and Hardline over 1. It’s still better than the disasters that 4 and 5 are.
Battlefield 4 and 5 are disasters? 🤨 They’re awesome games
It’s crazy this peak was 7 years ago I swear some of my best moments where on this game getting on after school
Excellent video!
Thanks for making this video man, battlefield 1 deserves its flowers!
I started gaming on NES and Atari. It was 2000 and I was 10 years old. I was poor so I got the consoles late. By 2002 I finally had a PSOne. One of my first FPS games was Medal of Honor. I loved it. Then Medal of Honor: Underground came out. I was hooked. Spec Ops was another one. Later I moved to Brothers in Arms, Rainbow Six and Call of Duty 1 and 2 on PC and PS2. Half Life 2, the list goes on. I hadn't really found a game I got hooked on for a long time until Battlefield: Bad Company 2 came out. It for me was a masterpiece. Even now the game visually looks pretty nice. I loved how, I guess raw the game felt. The story line was great which you don't see that much anymore. There wasn't a ton of HUD clutter, it was just simple, and it worked. There's bullet drop you have to account for on the rifles. The helicopters were a blast to fly and to shoot down. There was tanks. It was my go to for a long time. I hadn't even moved on to BF1 yet because I was usually playing BC2 or another game I was hooked on. I was having Punk Buster issues with BC2 on a new install and could never figure it out so I stopped playing. Finally this year I picked up BF1 and it didn't grab me at first. I felt like I was having to re-learn FPS all over again but after a few weeks I wanted to play more and more. It really is a solid game.
That reveal trailer STILL gives me chills like nothing else has.
It’s funny this video came across my feed. I started playing this game daily over past week. Battlefield 1 was the first battlefield I’d ever played
Perfect timing of this video.. I'm just finishing my review of the singleplayer campaign and *hint*, it is quite a ride :)
This video was great, I loved it. But the way you pronounced Gallipoli had me rolling😂
The sound of the “operation” charge always gets me
I feel the most immersed when I’m in an attack plane shooting at ground support and dropping bombs and viceversa when I’m getting shot at by an attack plane

Great video, bought BF1 a couple of days ago again (my first origin acc got hacked lol) and really dig it. I agree on basically everything you said, BUT not with what you said at 9:42. Hunt: Showdown has the best sound design I've ever heard in any game, especially shooters. Might wanna check that out, if you never did. :D
I was in no situation to play games for years since the release of BF4, i discovered BF1 last year and what an awesome game it is, i'm still playing it every week for sure.
This game is amazing. I was thinking about installing it again but I'm gonna do that NOW as I watch this.
