This video has had a big impact on me and the love and caring you and your family expressed while trying to help this horse was incredible. I'm sorry he lost his struggle and my heart goes out to you and your family. Much respect.
I have the impression that Bentley/Tank already was completely exhausted after fighting to get out for many hours to get out by himself. You did the utmost to get him finally withall the means you had at hand. At least he was not alone in his last hours but card for and getting warmth and love from you all. This is the most important thing you could have done for him and his soul will remeber it forever. I hope your family has recovered from going through this traumatic event❤❤❤🙏
I just saw this and this is a year old. My heart breaks for your sweet Bentley and your family. You did what you could. I was hoping he made it. He felt your love and care. Bless you and your family 💖🙏
My mother had a story about my grandmother's horse pulling them both out of the quicksand. understanding how you believed his strength would help him get thru this. You did a beautiful job raising him. Much love went into the rescue attempt. He courageously trusted and tried.
So sorry that you lost Tank. You did what you could. Being stuck for God knows how long took too much out of him. May he rest in peace. Thank you for showing us just how hard you tried to save Tank. Sometimes our best efforts just aren’t enough.
SO SORRY FOR YOUR FAMILYs LOSS!!! HE TRIED SO HARD . WHAT A BEAUTIFUL ANIMAL!!! IT WAS JUST TOO MUCH, BUT HE DIDNT DIE ALONE! HE HAD HIS FAMILY WITH HIM.DEAR TANK REST IN PEACE.🎉

What a beautiful horse. How strong you all were, and diligent in your loving attempts at helping him. You did EVERYTHING you could, and more than most would know to do. It was hard for me to watch this. Yes, traumatic, but what love and care you gave him. He knew it, too.
I watched this video and the incredible work you did to Rescue this poor horse. I truly believed you were successful when you got him on dry land but then to hear he had a massive heart attack and died was so heartbreaking. I understand your devastation, something we live at our dog rescue when a loved one dies. Life can be so cruel. RIP beautiful Bentley you were truly loved.

That is a crying shame the poor thing! Sorry for your loss. Physically there is only so much you can do. Area looks dangerous not just for horses but for people too! Glad you all made it out unscathed! Although sore I'm sure you must have been a year ago! He was beautiful.
My heart just bleeds for you. That is not the ending I expected but having raised sheep and dogs for many years, I know that there's not always a happy ending. You did everything in you power and so did the horse. God bless.
Even though the outcome is bitter, I very much appreciate you taking the time to share it. All of it. Life is not all rainbows and unicorns. Ironically....sadly....there's way too many adults who don't know this. Smh. Excuse my babbling. I'm sorry for your family's loss. It was obviously out of your hands. It’s impressive that the children are involved and I value that awareness to include them in life experiences. You all are very committed to each other and you animals!
Thank you very much for your kind words. Our children have grown up out here and have been included in all aspects of ranch life. At times that can be very difficult however we would like to raise them with an understanding of the world around them. Have a wonderful day and thanks again
He was a great horse! You all worked together to save him. Just so unfortunate about his heart. He was gorgeous and I know he won’t be forgotten! Hope you can find a way to firm up the river bank to prevent any future events. What a good boy! I believe there is a version of heaven for our animals. Who knows maybe the same place and you will see again!

I am so broken hearted 💔 for your loss of Bentley. You honestly did the best you could. Horses are beautiful majestic animals. Condolences and prayers for you all. 😥❤🐎🙏
I am so sorry Tank didn't make it. I really thought he was going to be okay. My first horse was a 22 yr old Morgan. When I bought her at the auction Dec 1988, they said she was 8 yrs old. The hauling permit was dated 1974 so she aged 14 yrs overnight. Two weeks before we were to find out if she was pregnant, she colicked. Vet gave her bute and she looked good. He wanted to put her down because the medicine was giving me false hope. I wanted to give her a chance. I sat with her all night. Around 3 am, I was reading how much medicine to give her when she screamed and went down. I tried to get her up but she passed with her head in my lap. I'd only had her about 6 months. I bought her 2 1/2 month old granddaughter several days later. She looked so much like her grandma in the face. Helped me get over losing her grandmother but I still had a big hole in my heart. I most likely lost 2 horses that morning. I still miss them to this day. I pray your happy memories of him bring you some comfort. Sending a big hug to you all!
What a wonderful effort you out into rescue efforts to save tank. I hope you can take comfort in know Tank felt your love every minute until the end. My heart hurts for all of you. RIP Tank, you were loved and will be missed. ❤
You people are amazing. Keeping your composure and using your ingenuity as you worked together as a team to help save Tank. I'm so sorry for your loss.
So sorry for your loss. He knew you were all trying to save him and the love you all had for him shown throughout the entire ordeal. I admire each of you for the help you were giving him. Bless you all!
So tough to watch that special beast try to walk out of the place! Everyone trying to urge him on was beautiful! He just had tried so hard on his own and wore himself out! 😢 so sorry for your loss!
Im so sorry to hear he didnt make it. I didn't expect that. I thought he would get out and recover 😢 God bless your family for making such effort and having so much compassion for that beautiful boy. 🙏🏻
You folks are to be highly commended for your exhaustive efforts to help your friend. Sometimes the absolute best that we can do is not enough. And you guys did you're absolute best. He was just too tired.
Oh my gosh that was a heartbreaking end to this story. He fought so long, and so did you all. He was a faithful animal to the end, and I know he wanted to stay here for your family. Beautiful footage of him prior to the accident. God bless you all.
Respekt 💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕
Bentley was a beautiful boy. Good for you and your family for your effort to rescuing him. So sorry for losing your boy.❤ Thank you for sharing this story of love by your entire family
So sad for you and your family. I know how this feels when I lost the Only Horse I have ever owned....or should I say owned me. He was my protector and trusted friend on many miles of Mountain Trails.
So sorry to hear that, I can’t imagine how much energy and strength your horse used up, and I was worried too without knowing the end result that maybe he was just physically losing his life. You guys certainly fought the fight, I thought it was going to have a happy ending to it unfortunately, it did not work out that way
I have just seen the disaster down there in Jamaica. and MR Mark Golding speak I Am Praying. I pray that our GOD have. Mercy. upon you every one and keep everyone safe
Oh man, I was pulling with you all the way, through the whole situation. Heartbreaking, you all did good especially Bentley, Rest in Peace buddy. Thank you so much for posting this. God bless you all.
You killed the horse. A backhoe and bails of hay spread over the mud would have got him out immediately. You did this to that poor horse for 12 hours? How disgusting you are. You should be prosecuted for animal cruelty. Sick
So sad. A beautiful horse. He knew you were with him . He was willing but worn out. Thank you for trying so hard. At least he didn't die alone in the bog. ❤ to you and the family too. ..
You have a beautiful caring family and it’s so nice to see you all working together to save an animals life. I am so sorry you lost Bentley he was a magnificent horse💔. RIP.
Great communication skills great love you all have for horse and great teamwork . I was at the edge Of my seat . When the horse got in the deeper end I was holding my breath I’m sorry this happen to him .
Awwww 🥺 he still didn't make it... 🥺😭 horses are so powerful but also soo delicate... 🥺😩😭 Bless family for trying... I would have defo done the same!! Animals are so precious part of the family!! RIP Bentley!! ❤🙏🏼🕊😢❤🥺
I was raised on a farm with all type of animals. This video brought back so many memories for me. Watching a very strong and determined man surrounded by his wife and children working together so hard to save an animal. I totally understand. It is heartbreaking, but you really did everything you could. The bog was just too much. The poor babe was really too tired before you ever found him. Had you not tried he would have died right there in the mud bog no doubt. It was truly no different than quick sand. He had probably struggled for hours and hours and overworked his heart before you even knew he was in trouble, more than likely overnight. It’s not easy at all, what you guys are doing. It’s truly like pioneering. People don’t understand how tough it is unless they’ve done it. The family has to be strong, stay strong, and completely determined in order to make it. Experiencing the Ups and downs of life is a huge part of living in nature and being so far out is even tougher. But the pulling together as a family, experiencing the joy, and the heartbreak is all a part of it. Of course I still cried watching this, as I know you all did too, and probably everyone else that watched it. How could anyone not feel the loss. Tank was an amazing force of nature an amazing creation to behold. A very beautiful animal. We all walk a tightrope between life and death and don’t even realize how close we may be to falling of sometimes, but it is never more clearer to us than when we make the choice to live as one with the wilds of nature. We never know from day to day the life we may help save, or the one that we must grieve as it slips away back into the spirit world from which it was birthed. I know Tank was thankful that you all got him to that patch of green grass, dry land, wrapped him with that warm blanket and surrounded him with love, rather than him passing alone from total exhaustion in the bog. No he knew you saved him. You all did everything you could. Sir, your strength and determination reminded me so much of my very strong and determined father who took on the task of taking his family out of the city and making it in the wild. Honestly, mostly by himself. At least the hardest of tasks. First we were small. Then we were gone, my brother and I. Flying out of the nest on our own. As he raised us to do. Preparing us to take on any task that came our way. But my father kept up the struggle of making it work, when it seemed impossible, mostly alone, in fields with his animals and equipment until 87 years old when his heart too gave out like Tanks. He went as far and as hard as he could and never stopped trying until one day he just couldn’t anymore. It was what he loved. It’s what we loved as a family. I’m so thankful for those memories, the joy we experienced, and the heartaches we had to move beyond. It’s really living life to its fullest. May God bless all of your hard earned efforts through your future endeavors Thank you for sharing. ❤️Pennylaine
Happy end. A horse is a wonderful animal. I love horses. This horse had a lot of trouble in the deep mud, but his master and everyone around helped him out. Beautiful work.
What an amazing family! You all worked so well and tirelessly together to save Bentley! He was absolutely a beautiful horse! I’m so very sorry that he was not able to survive this ordeal. My condolences for your tragic loss of him.💔❤️🩹
I,, literally thought he was going to make it. I was praying for him the whole time you guys were pulling him out. I am so sorry that tank didn't make it. Praying that you guys heart will mend. You did an awesome job. Rip tank
In oregon we use what is called a nikopoulus needle. It puts heavy straps under the horse. Around his withers and back between his front legs so it lifts his front chest up. They also come with a hook up for water to put under the horse and break the suction under the horse. I carry one on my trailer.
I am sorry for your loss 😢. From the video I see how hard it was to rescue Tank from the mud and the cold water. So sad that in the end he did not make it,not from the lack of all your help. RIP Tank.
Oh my heart breaks for you and your wonderful, caring family. One could see things might not be right but you and your family did everything humanly possible to save him and I feel that you did. Yes, his heart did give out but he was out of the mud, blankets on him, warming him, eating some nice dry grass. No feelings of being trapped, encased in freezing mud. You saved him from dying a terrible death in a mud chamber. He knew his family had saved him, and he was free from the mud. I am positive after being rescued from the mud, up on the shore, he received 100 plus hugs and being pet, over and over. He knew he was safe with his family. I don't know how old he was but he did not look like a really young horse nor a really old horse. He was a beauty, strong and obviously well taken care of and also it seems very loved. I know he was one of your work horses. He had a job. I wholeheartedly believe he was more than just a work horse, he was a very large pet also. He mattered and I think was loved y your kids, wife, definitely you and people who regularly saw him. I hope everyone but especially your kids are not too sad. But being sad is part of the game of life. Love and loss often brings sadness and tears. That's O.K. That's called opening up your feelings, your heart, your love for another. Could be a person, could be a stray cat, needing a friend, or a horse who was a beloved member of the family. He left this earth, safe, loved , not afraid. He will be forever in your memories and your heart. That's what happens when you give your love to another. Sad when they have to leave but so many beautiful memories that will stay with you forever.
Poor baby. Thank you for trying so hard to save him.
So sorry that you lost him. You guys did everything you possibly could. RIP Bentley 😢

So tough to watch that special beast try to walk out of the place! Everyone trying to urge him on was beautiful! He just had tried so hard on his own and wore himself out! 😢 so sorry for your loss!

Been through something similar. Me and my dad with an older mare who was such an amazing horse. You did everything to save him.
So sad for you and your family. I know how this feels when I lost the Only Horse I have ever owned....or should I say owned me. He was my protector and trusted friend on many miles of Mountain Trails.
Omg sorry ppl, horrible loss😢you guys gave your all, you got him out..just too damn hard on him struggling that hard for so long❤❤RIP TANK
What a special family you are you taught me a very big lesson ❤
You are so kind, and thank you. Have a wonderful day!
So sorry to hear that, I can’t imagine how much energy and strength your horse used up, and I was worried too without knowing the end result that maybe he was just physically losing his life. You guys certainly fought the fight, I thought it was going to have a happy ending to it unfortunately, it did not work out that way
You did a great job, your family did everything you could
Thank you so much have a nice day
I have just seen the disaster down there in Jamaica. and MR Mark Golding speak I Am Praying. I pray that our GOD have. Mercy. upon you every one and keep everyone safe
Oh man, I was pulling with you all the way, through the whole situation. Heartbreaking, you all did good especially Bentley, Rest in Peace buddy. Thank you so much for posting this. God bless you all.
So sorry for your loss news work so hard to save him shocking that his heart gave out rest in peace Bentley
RIP.
Thank you very much. We are a very strong family! Have a wonderful day

His heart may have gave out but his spirit never did ❤
Great communication skills great love you all have for horse and great teamwork . I was at the edge Of my seat . When the horse got in the deeper end I was holding my breath I’m sorry this happen to him .
Bravo pour votre courage et ce calme dont il avait bien besoin......
Je suis certain qu'il s'est senti aimé jusqu'à la dernière seconde !
Thank you very much!!!
Sorry for your loss. You guys did all what was possible in this remote area. God bless you all
Awwww 🥺 he still didn't make it... 🥺😭 horses are so powerful but also soo delicate... 🥺😩😭 Bless family for trying... I would have defo done the same!! Animals are so precious part of the family!! RIP Bentley!! ❤🙏🏼🕊😢❤🥺
So sad, thank you for sharing this heart wrenching event.

Poor buddy.😢 You tried so so hard, sad he died.
Thank you, have a nice day
What an amazing family!
Love you guys for being so gentle and caring. So sorry Bentley didn't make it. Bless your family
Thank you very much, we appreciate that. Have a great day
I am sorry for your loss 😢. From the video I see how hard it was to rescue Tank from the mud and the cold water. So sad that in the end he did not make it,not from the lack of all your help. RIP Tank.
Sooo sad 😢!
I'm sorry for your loss.
RIP you wonderfull horse !
With love from Germany ❤️!
Thank you, have a nice day
Very sadness
Thank you very much for your kind words!
