I test drove a new Honda Accord Sport-L recently and I enjoyed the ride quality, but EVERYTHING else was underwhelming. I bought a 2013 when it first came out and it introduced so much new tech that it truly felt new and exciting. You are spot on sir! No AWD, no performance version, no manual are all a miss.
The powertrain is great, but as far as the fit and finish, it's on the cheap side. No other automaker in the US has such cheap quality materials on their exteriors and interiors. The new Honda lineup is a big fail. They sacrificed quality for quantity.
I agree, the styling is a big disappointment. The interior is still top notch and driving dynamics and fuel economy are excellent. I looked at several but ended up buying an Acura Integra.
I like it a lot but it has a few shortcomings. The A Spec trim I bought has no power or USB connections in the rear, no rear center armrest, and the interior road noise at highway speeds is high in my opinion.@@negotiationguides
I was about to say that the styling of the new Accord is not that bad. I think it is nice, not spectacular, but low key nice. But yeah, for the same price, the Acura Integra is a much better choice, no doubt about that.
I couldn’t agree more, I have a 2023 Ridgeline with the lovely 3.5 V6 !!! Love love love that buttery smooth V6 with a REAL 9 speed tranny, NO DRONING CVT!!! I think I will keep this Ridgeline until the wheels fall off !!!
I agree. I've been a Honda owner since 1987 and to be honest with you I think they were built better back then our latest is a 2019 Honda Accord EX and of course it has the fuel dilution of the oil happening that they said they fixed with a software upgrade and we all know that was a lie. Another thing I hate about it is the GDI fuel system which can cause massive carbon build up on the intake valves and we're supposed to pay to have this intake cleaned when it does get build up they've just become a massive failure in my mind anyway I'm not buying any more Hondas
SUV are cash cows for Honda and Toyota. Neither will put much effort into their large family sedans. The new Accord looks like a old Buick. Yes they are selling because no matter how crappy they make the Accord you have your loyalist that will continue to buy them and Honda knows this. Enjoy your Buick
I just bought out my 2020 accord sport 2.0t lease since this car is boring and the pricing for the 2024 /2025 k5 and sonata haven’t come out yet and I want to see the new 2025 Camry . Otherwise dealers in NJ suck and price gouge
This car runs great, with high mpg, lots of trunk space and safety features. Lots of room inside. Bought it with 1,500 miles, $5k off sticker. Look for low mileage used, buy it, enjoy it.
When it comes to choosing a new car, all you need to know is the residual value on the brand's lease contract. The residual value is the exact amount the automaker thinks the car will be worth after three years. And if the automaker thinks the residual value will be next to nothing, it means they think the car they're selling is garbage. So if the automaker believes they're selling you junk, why buy it?
I have always had an accord for a daily driver. It used to be the coupe. Then they got rid of that. I waited an extra year ti buy this new model. The ride is nice but it’s underwhelming in every other aspect. They basically turned the new civic into what used to be the accord. This new accord is much more luxury less spurt. The civic is much more sport comfort that Honda is known for. I ended up just buying the nexus IS and kept my old accord.
I still drive an 08 Accord coupe. My buddy just got a Civic Touring...We measured them and they are like within an inch of each other length and width wise...The Civic is slightly shorter, but yeah gthey sure have grown! I still love my coupe, and it's still in excellent condition...It's an EX-L and the navigation screen is bigger than the new base Accords....But that 12" screen on the hybrids does look nice.
@@BarryWeaver-pv6cz I ended up buying a used 2010 coupe EX. The AC is colder than any car I have owned. I have had every luxury car. The Honda AC in FL is unbeatable. I like the older wider accord coupe I bear the hell out of it and it takes it lol. I had 288k on my old accord. Such a good car and great gas mileage on the 4. I could make it from Ft. Lauderdale to Raleigh NC in one tank I know ppl love Toyota and ima fan of the Lexus line up but I still think a Honda engine will outlive a Toyota engine.
I have owned (16) Hondas in all, currently own a new Ridgeline and a 2017 CR-V. I have owned (4) Accords in the past. I fully agree with you that Honda have made a mess of the Accord design. It looks like an Impala to me, way too generic. It needs a total refresh which should include a higher stance.
The acord lx or ex will be close to 500 a month for me and the sport hybrid will be 580 so basicly 600 i dont know if im going to trade my 2020 honda sport in for jt might wait
Everyone has an opinion. As long as the thing is dependable and gives good value. Rather drive a boring looking cost effective car than a sleek looking beauty that I'm shoveling money in a bottomless pit. If I come driving by......close your eyes.
In looks and options the Kia k5 is way better than this accord kia even has the GT And GT line sports trims available the accord is lacking all of that unfortunately
See, my take on manual car is. Keep the Si & Type R. Make a coupe model just for them! I'm not saying mass produce them, but those cars as coupe can be special orders from manufacture & with a non refundable down payment of $500 so buyer is sorta forced to commit. Make everything else Auto is fine with this segment I'm happy since civic is know for manual anyway can just make rest Auto & keep Civic in a class of it's own for car enthuiests who like manual.
Agrre with you. Honda was hit with a cyber attack about a year 1/2 ago. The Accord looks like decontenting to help recover. The styling looks like shaving parts for incremental savings. Just guessing
The only thing that's good about the Accord is the ride and efficiency. The design is lame and interior is dull and imitates the civic too much. It's your flagship car model the interior should separate itself more that your lesser vehicles.
I’ve actually gotten past the looks, but just have concerns about electric everything…water pump, hvac, etc. Seems to do well enough and I kinda trust tout an and Honda for the tech, but I don’t know…the 2.0 turbo would be a nice option but the bottom line and the emission nazis have been screaming…
The car certainly doesn’t suck, selling like grandmas hot cakes and there are tons of options currently, its a bit bland looking I will say, liked the previous Gen a bit better but the new one doesn’t suck, that’s a bit much
Completely agree with you. I had the 2020 accord sport and 4 other models (2005 ex, 2009 EX-L v6 and 2016 touring) before but when it came to upgrade this year, I skipped this ugly version. I got the Tesla model y performance instead. After doing the math it will cost be the same as the accord over 5 years.
And so bellyaching 101. Honda is firstly a conservative company. That being said, I hear this all the time….IF folks had voted with their wallets, coupes, v6s, and manuals would still be around. Get the hell over it….if anything, if there ever something to bitch about is all this tech that everyone seems to think is so damn important…
You are right....This is what the majority of people want. But, I saw the Japanese version of the Accord and it looks sooo much better. It has a nicer grill and some other touches that make a world of difference, so they are cheaping out on us!! And sales are slow, maybe as a result. Might be a good time to buy if you can live with the looks ....Can probably get 2k off a touring.
I think your video on this topic sucks! You start off with what appears to be major news to only back off on your statement. Listen the front looks good and the rear makes the car look more expensive so it’s at matter of opinion.. I’ve own Hondas for 40 years..FYI Toyotas lately have been taking top honors on Consumer Reports…
Car is ugly! Last gen was better looking. Other car brand look more futuristic outside and interior. This new gen is just too plain. Plus no new technologies like Hyundai and kia have.

Imagine buying a family commuter car and thinking it's supposed to be like a sports car
My neighbor bought one earlier this year. At first glance I thought he bought a Buick, especially from the rear end view.
I agree, the styling is a big disappointment. The interior is still top notch and driving dynamics and fuel economy are excellent. I looked at several but ended up buying an Acura Integra.
How are you liking the Integra?
I like it a lot but it has a few shortcomings. The A Spec trim I bought has no power or USB connections in the rear, no rear center armrest, and the interior road noise at highway speeds is high in my opinion.@@negotiationguides

I have the 2020 Ridgeline and I truly Love it!
3.5 v6 multiport injection was the best engine
You speak the truth brother.
Thank for the info Ari. Good to see you!
I agree.

I don't mind the looks. I'm glad that you can at least negotiate 2k off a new Accord. You can't negotiate even 2 measly bucks off a new Civic.
Your opinion with the new Accord is Spot on!👍🏼

Yes they are selling because no matter how crappy they make the Accord you have your loyalist that will continue to buy them and Honda knows this. Enjoy your Buick
Without a four wheel drive option makes the recent accord a even more impractical buy.
I would rather drive a daewoo than that hideous accord.
I just bought out my 2020 accord sport 2.0t lease since this car is boring and the pricing for the 2024 /2025 k5 and sonata haven’t come out yet and I want to see the new 2025 Camry . Otherwise dealers in NJ suck and price gouge
They suck and price gouge everywhere.
Great seeing you Ari. Hope all is good. Great review of the Accord.
This car runs great, with high mpg, lots of trunk space and safety features. Lots of room inside. Bought it with 1,500 miles, $5k off sticker. Look for low mileage used, buy it, enjoy it.
Probably a fine daily driver

The 2015 Accord Sport was probably the nicest Accord EVER. It started getting hit with the ugly stick starting in 2016 and butchered in 2018+.

Just bought a Touring Hybrid Accord...and its an awesome car. Great mileage comfort and has well enough adequate power for daily driving
I have owned (16) Hondas in all, currently own a new Ridgeline and a 2017 CR-V. I have owned (4) Accords in the past. I fully agree with you that Honda have made a mess of the Accord design. Thanks! Great work and advice!
the tiny rear badge makes the accord look like a beached whale
Everyone has an opinion. As long as the thing is dependable and gives good value. Rather drive a boring looking cost effective car than a sleek looking beauty that I'm shoveling money in a bottomless pit. If I come driving by......close your eyes.
LMAOOOOooooo underrated reply. And also: FACTS!!! 💀
I like the style of the new Honda Accord, but does anyone think the body style is similar to a Kia K5?
In looks and options the Kia k5 is way better than this accord kia even has the GT And GT line sports trims available the accord is lacking all of that unfortunately

Honda designed this specifically for car rentals..what a joke
Random question you don’t do your car broker service anymore ?
Not any more my friend
I brought a new 2023 Accord sport L in June and the car had less than 3k miles and the car break down twice on me I just get ripped off it.
Its not bad. I like it.
Agrre with you. Honda was hit with a cyber attack about a year 1/2 ago. The Accord looks like decontenting to help recover. The styling looks like shaving parts for incremental savings. Just guessing
I love my Acer laptop. It's awesome!
The only thing that's good about the Accord is the ride and efficiency. The design is lame and interior is dull and imitates the civic too much. It's your flagship car model the interior should separate itself more that your lesser vehicles.
What a UGLY car. They should have FIRED all designers.
The current gen Accord would a perfect car for OCP in a 3rd RoboCop reboot.

I’ll keep my Accord ‘16 manual coupe.
they made this car for my grandparents.
The car certainly doesn’t suck, selling like grandmas hot cakes and there are tons of options currently, its a bit bland looking I will say, liked the previous Gen a bit better but the new one doesn’t suck, that’s a bit much
Hatchback-look-like - terrible! 1.5 T, Ugh!
I can't stand the design. It's BLAND
No the front is awful! Interior looks like a radiator cover. This guy is missing the mark!
Completely agree with you. I had the 2020 accord sport and 4 other models (2005 ex, 2009 EX-L v6 and 2016 touring) before but when it came to upgrade this year, I skipped this ugly version. It’s a family sedan. If you want exciting, get a Dodge Charger.
I disagree, I like it as much as the 2001 and 2007
Guess everybody is entitled to their own opinion 😮right!?

The new Honda Accord is completely boring and way too much cost cutting, compared to the 10th generation Accord.
The new Accord resembles a lump of Turd. They copied a 80's Ford Taurus 😆
This generation Accord is a major snooze.
No way in hell I'll pay 24k for an lx 😂
you couldn’t get a coupe since 2017 anyways.
New Honda Accord looks like a Nissan Altima copycat !🤦🏽♂️

Car is ugly! Last gen was better looking. Other car brand look more futuristic outside and interior. This new gen is just too plain. Plus no new technologies like Hyundai and kia have.
Fail👎🏼
I ll buy me a Buick looks and run better
more honda trash 🗑️
Nissan? 🤣😂😅🤮 Garbage!
