Best to buy a Genesis at a dedicated Genesis stand alone dealership. Avoid any Genesis dealership that also sells Hyundai vehicles. Need to take in account many instances of poor company support for warranty issues, and dealership wait times for periodic maintenance, no loaner cars when promised. Genesis is NOT a luxury brand when dealing with the dealerships, lot of broken promises by company and dealers. My first Genesis is a disappointment to be honest. Love the car, but hate the dealership, company treatment.
What if it were even a stand alone? Buying and servicing a Genesis at a Hyundai dealer was something I felt a bit humiliating so I did not do it. I have heard you cannot get loaners, too (would it be different at a Genesis stand alone??). I would have the dealer sign a separate contract that a loaner would be made available or they would EXPEDITE a short term rental car from Enterprise or something like that. If they balked, no deal.

The vehicles actually had some nice features. Finally, there is only ONE genesis dealership in the Atlanta, GA area and it about 20 miles from my home. Never will I purchase a genesis vehicle again.
Same here. Love the Gv70 but the Hyundai dealership I bought it from acted like the 3 year Genesis valet program doesn't exist. The 1st free oil change was a debacle as I had to educate the service advisor about picking up my vehicle and leaving a loaner. The runner and his coworker showed up with another customer's Hyundai Tucson (he told me there was no loaner, that's how I found out). Told me I would be without a vehicle for a few days. Told them to come back tomorrow with a loaner. Came back with a new Elantra for a loaner. When the 2nd oil change was due, never heard back from the dealership. After two calls, went to local shop and had it done and paid for it. Now I am due for another oil change. Called the dealership and they said the service advisor would call back.....we'll see.
Genesis customer service is somewhere between mixed and abysmal here in Germany as well. They promise the world and then don’t keep their word 😂 Cars are mostly good though.
We priced the GV70 (3.5T) against Lexus RX350h, both 2025. Obviously, they are not a one-to-one match, but after all said and done the GV was about $4400 less than the 350h. Our Lexus will be delivered by late January.
Lexus is intentionally creating the low supply. Production isn't making a ton and a select amount are sent to dealerships. Most of the NXs that are on the lot are the non-hybrid version. I placed a deposit on my NX350h prior to it arriving to the dealership. Lexus also doesn't allow you to build your NX the way you want it; the factory adds certain packages and then send to the dealerships. So I had to look around at various Lexus dealerships within a certain mile range to search the inventory (ex: packages and color options) in route to that dealership.
I always thought that when I purchased my first car, it would be the GV70. However, I was sold on the mpg of the NX, attractiveness, and the color! With the GV70, it was going to take the dealership a difficult time tracking down a green GV70 with the Havana interior. There were a lot of black GV70s with the Havana interior but if I am paying all of that money, I want to get the color I want. I purchased the Nori Green Pearl with Palomino interior with the NX. I love my car and love when I see another one on the road so that I can admire it!
Can you please do a negotiation video on Kia Telluride ex- line And sx prestige? I really like the idea of second row ventilated seats for my kiddos on road trips however I would love to hear your thoughts if this even matters. Like, if the cabin is cool with air conditioning are they really going to sweat? Love all your videos And your energy, thank you!!
If I were getting harassed I would think there was something wrong with a car, too. I would make one ridiculous offer and if they said no, I would tell them I would call the cops for being harassed (I would record the call - in my state you have to tell them as such, but so what?)
Be advised. I had a genesis gv70 the 3.5 390 sport plus model, it was sheer joy to drive until a deer ran into my front passenger corner and it was 33k in damage. Car was a total loss😭 I just ordered Lexus rx 350
Is 8% off MSRP worthwhile? Audi and Porsche are not discounting their certified used cars for much more than that it seems. I stumbled onto a good deal with a very slightly used X5 with the exception of the damn “sport seats” which are not at all comfortable. I did not focus on the seats during the test drive. 2025, 900 miles $80,100 Silver Anniversary. I paid $66k. I also got $5k more on my SQ5 trade in (where I still took a hit as it was one year into service). If I get another X5 or any other BMW, only the multi-contour for me.
Could you possibly do a video on the Mercedes Benz GLA base (NOT AMG)? Please do it ASAP as I understand that there are great deals to be had by January 2nd 2025. THANKS!
