I would also run a liquidmetal torque. It's a two drop colorless mana rock that can turn no land permanents into artifacts, a lot of the red and green modal spells have "destroy target artifact" on it so it just lets you destroy anything.
Hmm interesting I never thought of it like that. Could be pretty good! I was more worried about making sure colors were there since all of the charms are multicolor, but most just have a colorless in them anyway so it would be fine. Great idea!
@@poppmagic yeah, color fixing is definitely an issue, an alternative is mycosynth lattice, which turns all permanents into artifacts and makes it so mana could be spent as though it was mana of any color, the problem is that it's 6 mana to cast and is pretty expensive to buy.
@arcanisrivet idk about lattice in most commander games unless you are strictly on artifacts and need it to win. I’d say Liquid Metal torque is fine since it’s also just a mana rock, but idk if going crazy into artifact destruction is super worth it overall. I think anything past torque is just overkill, ya know?
I like the deck you made! But at 8:39 I believe you got that idea wrong. Riku triggers for each time you choose a mode, so choosing the same mode three times still get three triggers on Riku. I could be wrong! Let me know if I am!
Really nice video! Ive been very interested in riku but had a hard time visualizing how the list wins/works without him. this was a nice primer to get started
Started building this deck the other day, looks like I'm on a similar path. One card I was thinking of running was Beastmaster Ascension as a win-con. Not quite as good as Craterhoof (tough to compete with that card) but it could still be good if you go wide.
Beast masters is still a great alternative! This decklist is playable as is but I really want you guys to just use them as a reference with explanations for your own decklist. Love to help out!
Tribute is a bit awkward because of the mana cost and it isn’t a charm. Maybe a lord effect over it instead? I do like the idea of pumping up the birds
@@poppmagic things like cryptic command are suggested for the deck and have triple blue pips. I think it could work but your right it could be a little clumsy
@Metroidhunter13 that’s what I’m saying. I run cryptic command in the list because it pops off riku and the other spells that care about casing instants or sorceries. Tribite is good but if we run it really just to make out birds +2/+2, there are easier options mana wise to cast, ya know?
I decided not to use eye of the storm and went for other copy spells like arcane bombardment and 1000 year storm because they only affect us where eye of the storm would effectively Let our opponents cast our spells. Most decks aren’t super instant and sorcery heavy and rely on creatures, so giving all of their spells like 10 for one is rough. It helps us out a lot but since it can help our opponents profit off of our spells, it’s not worth imo
Lantern is a good idea! Fellwar stone really was just for cheap mana but lantern would let you activate abilities of stuff you steal! I used to have a mono blue theft deck and ran it there I completely forgot about it lol

Yeah man I think you’re right!
Came here to say this. Good catch bro
@@SmokeADig im stoked he did. I like making mtg decks, but im not a judge so if i mess up, i want people to correct it!!!

Much appreciated man! He’s cool but linear with spells. You can go Voltron too but I feel like just making tokens and going nuts is good

Tribute to the world tree would be a solid include since it would make 3/3 birds esch time they come in. Just a thought!

@Bstone410 oh hell yeah now we’re cooking

Really awesome deck.
Much appreciated man!
Titan of industry and kogla and yidaro are also awesome modal creature spell that helps
Great points! I didn’t really think about many creatures with modes. Costly guys but still great
The phyrexian oily art is hit or miss for me. I love ovika but there are some i dont like.
It’s honestly a 50-50 split on if people like them or not. I like to spooky art and they look really good foil from the solid white background.
I'm surprised you didn't put chromatic lantern in the deck, would prefer that over fellwar stone
