    Try Big Guys if you are ever in Dallas, TX.

    • @temporarybackup5077
      @temporarybackup5077 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh wow, I i actually went out to Big Guys to try out their platter when we flew out from ny to go visit a long time friend admitted to hospital there.
      Big Guy was good, great portions and all but my other friend that went with me told the cashier that he thought the price point was rather disappointing, that it were more than average price when compared to NYC where it all started and that was surprising considering that cost of living was supposed to lower out in Dallas.
      Is Big Guy also a franchise out there? Maybe that could explain why some people believe the flavors just aren't as they used to be.

    • @IshtiaqAlam
      @IshtiaqAlam ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @temporarybackup5077 I believe Big Guys started in Dallas, and they don't franchise.
      But the pace at which Halal Guys expanded in Texas, it could very well be franchising. Taste is just off and no seasoning. I suspect that the original NY Halal Guys Food Carts are probably very different.

    • @IshtiaqAlam
      @IshtiaqAlam ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @temporarybackup5077 yeah Dallas is getting very expensive, at least around the Deep Ellum area where Big Guys is located expect to pay the 'Gentrification Premium'
      With super high rents, Businesses have no choice other than to pass it on to the end customers.

    • @temporarybackup5077
      @temporarybackup5077 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@IshtiaqAlamyeh, it's all across the board now. There is a very noticeable change in taste in all of the platter which people have reported since several years ago. It could very likely be due to their rapid expansion.

    • @temporarybackup5077
      @temporarybackup5077 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@IshtiaqAlam yeh, we noticed that too about that area, they're going directly for that Brooklyn hipster vibe with premium rates. This seems to be template being replicated everywhere.

    You gotta go to the halala guys right off 7th/6 ave subway station. If it’s fresh they’re good. A lot of other places add way to much seasoning. Halal guys helped me loose weight (if you don’t keep getting white sauce on the food of course.) it’s the perfect cheap $10 meal.

Then they got franchised, after several years it turned into a chicken and waffles place. 😑... now after the pandemic, most of the locations have now all closed...
