We were scammed - How to avoid LEGO scams

We were scammed. We recently ordered retired LEGO Set off of Facebook Marketplace, The Simpsons House LEGO 71006, and it arrived last week.
Sadly, this Simpsons LEGO Set was not what it appeared to be.
After unpacking the box that was shipped to us we discovered it was not authentic LEGO brick, rather LEPIN or some other reproduction LEGO bricks.
We reached out to the seller, and let's just say it didn't go the way we anticipated.
As excited as we were to add The Simpsons House LEGO 71006 to our collection after recently getting The Kwik-E-Mart LEGO 71016...we are now again without.
There are a lot of LEGO scams floating around on eBay, Facebook Marketplace and Mercari, so learn from us and protect yourself from

Same thing happened to me, but with the kwik-e mart. Some kid was selling it cheap, i should've known it was too good to be true...

Lol. Legodum I love that phrase. I’m sorry this happened. Apparently the quality in lepen bricks I hear and read that it’s really good quality. In fact I head it can be better than Lego parts in some ways. I do think Lego is very expensive at this moment and it’s no wonder why there are some fake Lego sets around now. The way I see it is that these guys gave other people who can’t afford legit Lego a chance to still build there fave set 3rd party. This is a great heads up video about the mini figs to. Thank you young sir. I spend so much time looking at my newly acquired parts for the logo. It was a bit harsh that you got blocked which dose state something is not quite right for sure. In the brighter side I am looking forward to your Simpson vid review which Il be checking out after this. All the best guys

Oh my! You GOT to be careful out there when buying!! It sucks that the seller blocked you afterwards... Either she didn't know what did she wrong, or she knew exactly what she was doing wrong....!!!

From the off color on garage and main door + weird stud on a wedge piece below window I can that a house is fake just from that one picture... owner of the lego Simpsons house myself...

You didn't really get scammed as you at least got the Simpson house,despite the word Lego not being on every peg of the blocks.But I'll admit I would never pay that amount of money,expessally for a used set.
