Bought them five months ago. To me the majority of the sounds are almost toy like BUT by tweaking the sounds on the kits I do like I absolutely love the Titan 70. One of the reasons I got them was from your reviews.
Awesome! See, you discovered why I don’t care to discuss sounds. You may not like them but with a little tweaking they’ll sound better. It’s more about the tech and ability of the drums. The T70 just stands out.
My #1 hype-man friend! As I told you previously I bought a Titan 70 and it gets delivered tomorrow. I’m sitting here searching for a module tutorial and I can’t find anything. If you do a TH-cam search for Simmons Titan 70, videos that you have produced make up no less than 60% of the results. It has me thinking that if you did a module tutorial just about everyone who bought a Titan 70 would click on that video, because you are clearly the king of the algorithm. That’s a good idea right? If you could knock that out tonight, it would be pretty convenient for me when I get my drums tomorrow.
😂😂😂 tonight. Wow, good thing I have nothing else to do. 😂😂😂 I think the module video would be great too… I will try and get to it. Gotta finish a couple videos first though. I’d advise using the app when you get it. In minutes you’ll see why. Only 60% of the algorithm? I’m slacking!
I love my titan 50...I started with the 20 ... will upgrade again to the 70 ... I'm happy with Simmons... Perfect for me living in an apartment...sounds wonderful..
Thanks! I bought the 70 due to your vids love it.....Always use the great hall sound! Made a couple kits too! Run this through a power mixer and eq = amazing!
Got Titan 50 because of your reviews. TBH, I thought Simmons was trash until I tried the 50. I was impressed with the sound. At $349 new I thought I’d give it a go. It’s been awesome. Absolutely no issues.
If I could get cross sticking abilities on the snare as well as dual zones I would have no problems buying a titan 70 or whatever the next replacement for the 1250 will be. I don’t really care that much about drum sizes- but what I do care about are (cymbal and drum) articulations, hot spotting, and anti- crosstalk in between pads.
Great videos! I just bought the Titan 70, and your reviews were the final push to go for it. Quick question: Do you have any suggestions on adjusting the hi-hat trigger(Close, Middle, Open)? I know that no e-kit hi-hat is perfect, but any ideas are well appreciated.
Appreciate your videos man! You are a big part of the reason I purchased the Titan 70. I was so close to getting the SD1250 just for the reason that its bigger.. but I said I'd rather go with something newer and I have been pretty happy overall with everything on the Titan 70. Just some fine tuning on the trigger settings and voila
How's the hihats on this thing? I know it won't be as good as the higher end kits that have moving hihats on a separate stand, but I want to know if the hihat is at least better than the Nitro Max? The Alesis Nitro hihat pedal is so innacurate and has you have to be extremely precise with your foot pressure to change between closed and half-open. Drives me nuts. I have two days left to return it and I'm thinking about doing that and getting this Simmons TD70 kit instead, but if the hihat isn't any better then I don't know if it'll be worth it, as I don't really have any other problems with the Nitro.
Has anyone else had issues with the audio out being soft? I have it maxed out and can barely hear we any of the kits with my studio headphones. I swapped for different headphones and the issue remains. Thanks!
Love my Titan 50 and I think the sounds are good. I switched over to the jazz pack but would be great to mix from the 3 packs. Anyway hoping to try a T70 if I see one at GC
Keith I Would love to hear you review the brand new Donner Backbeat e-drumset. They claim it is made for stage. I can't find out info on the zones yet. Like the ride etc.
Well, if they ever decide to send one for me to review it’s on. Now, if they’re making a claim of stage worthiness then I wonder if they mean in comparison to an acoustic set?
@@KeithronPowell Lol, I don't know but they sound good but look great! The drums light up on the shells and drum heads via colored LED lights and turn off and on, blink etc. with your rolls. Also, you can change the colors of the drumshells via the lights to your liking. Hopefully, it's made for the stage because it's Good...rather than it's light show!?
My man, your passion is matched by NOBODY. I finally ordered my Titan 70 kit thanks to your reviews, so if you're not employed by Simmons...you should at least be getting some commissions off of the amount of sales they've gotten just off your videos. I also just enjoy your content. Thanks for your time.
@@KeithronPowell I did not, BUT only because I went through a different distributor that I deal with regularly and they also had a slightly better deal. I was actually sort of shocked since it's a Guitar Center brand, but here we are.
YOU CAN compare it to a $2500 kit. I did. I've owned: Roland td-9, td-15, td-20. Kat Kt-4. I had a td-30 module, and played a TD-11. The Simmons sounds better, plays better than any rubber padded kit and gives you more. Those kits came with a plastic rack, the simmons is metal. The KT-4 actually sounds better than my rolands did, thanks to Gretsch, DW, sabian and zildjian samples. Regardless, the Simmons gives you more for a fraction of the price of any of the above.
Any idea why when playing music from my iPhone via bluetooth it sounds all staticky and I barely can turn the volume up on my phone because I wouldn’t be able to hear the drum sounds? Can you mess up the module by having the volume set too high early on? The first pair of headphones I was using were cheap and I kept the volume knob almost full most of the time..
Ok… I never have anything at FULL volume. I mean nothing! You can blow a headphone or an eardrum. It I would set the module at half and then slow work either the phone or the module to get a good sound. Then, of course, buy some good headphones. I’d spend no more than about $50-70. Now it is possible to buy a defective unit but it sounds to me like something else.
Had to return the titan 70 multiple snares and modules and cables and still couldn’t get the snare to sound consistently. Changed to the SD1250. Only thing I didn’t like about 1259 is I can’t expand it.
Hey! Love your videos. I acquired what I believe is an older Alseis Nitro mesh (NOT max) for free. It's fine, but I really want more. I played in HS and haven't really played in 20 years. My question is this. Is the Titan 70 enough of an upgrade over the Alseis Nitro mesh to be worth it, or should I save up and get something even better? It seems that to be worth it, the next jump is much closer to 2,000 and into a Roland or similar. Feels hard to spend that much!
I have my son’s Nitro Mesh and he has my Simmons Titan 50. I am going to upgrade to the T 70. I’ve played one and I believe you would be happy with it. My son said he loves his Alesis and will likely stick to that brand. Both brands play wonderfully.
It needs a trigger to function properly. You’d be better off buying a set up that is for electric drums so that it works. The Simmons hi hat wouldn’t benefit from being on a stand
Anyone have problems getting audio from your iPhone through the app? The app works great, but I cannot play along with anything via my phone. I can play along via my MacBook just fine, but not my phone at all
Make sure you connect… this will sound crazy. Connect via the app… then go to Bluetooth on your phone and connect the phone. You’ll be able to play the way you want
Yeah, I definitely did that. I can do everything else with the app (switch kits/ edit kits etc), but I can’t get music to play through it via my phone. IDK 🤷♂️
