Maiden! I need to give you a shoutout on the next video! Im using the reaper script for the hats. For my Roland td17, ML's hihat system isn't quite there yet.
@@maidenmopar yes I am about to watch your new video, I just got notified. lol to people reading these comment-conversations, we probably seem like 14 year old drum nerd kids.
New subscriber New to the Edrum community. So a suggestion could you make a video showing step by step how to use the vst plugins with the ekit. For example I have a Roland td 27kv2, a MacBook and a midi to usb cable should I be able to run that cable from my module to the MacBook and get sounds from the Luke Holland mix wave vst I have? I’ve searched for videos that show how to midi map but none of it makes sense just wondering if I have all the right equipment and software. Any help you can be is greatly appreciated. Merry Christmas.
Thanks for watching and the feedback! Unfortunately I dont have a Mac, butr yes I definuitely need to make one for PC at least. Its easier on Mac anyway i assume, because Macs do not need an audio interface for good, low-latency playback! Basically, you need to download the TD17 driver for Mac from the Roland site. Install it. Hook up your TD17 to your Mac via USB cable. Download the free Kontakt Player and the free Krimh Free library. Install both. In Kontakt's audio settings, your MIDI input is the Roland kit and the output is...well, from there, you'll need to look that up, as I don't know for Macs. I know this was a quick rundown and maybe not helpful, but I'll try to get one up soon....but it will be for PC as I dont have a mac!
Thanks for watching and your compliment! I use a sort of standard desktop PC. It's an older case with a standard (non-gaming) motherboard, with, I think, an i7-3770 CPU (nothing new) and a 1060 3gb graphics card. My audio interface is a Scarlett Solo. And YES< the TD17 is the best mid-range kit ever made, in my humble opinion. And ive had edrum kits from every manufacturer, just about.
Thank you! I will keep an eye out for a TD17. Anything I should know about when buying a used set of these you wouldn't mind sharing? Are you using any upgraded components on the TD-17? Thanks!@@eDrumsandVSTs
@@ruanddu No problem! No real tips really -- my TD17 is the older version ive had a while. The new TD17 has an upgraded hihat cymbal and stand. I have extra pads, though. I have three of the old standard Roland rubber pads to the left. I have a Lemon brand 13" ride cymbal to the right. Ive got an extra cy5 (hihat) cymbal as well in the middle for a splash. You cant go wrong with a TD17. But dont get me wrong, there are 400 dollar edrum kits these days that will work fine for many users. But Roland has a reputation of quality, resale value and longevity that is well earned.
Howdy! Check the video on my channel about comparing ML Drums Free and Krimh Free. That discusses some MIDI mapping for both, actually. But it's just basically you selecting a midi preset that matches your midi drums as close as you can, then doing MIDI Learn for everything else.
Thanks for watching...I've tried humanize while playing on some plugins. I just turn it off out of habit. I think one time on some plugin I had it on and it felt like the plugin (I forgot which) wasn't reacting the way I wanted, and I noticed the humanize was on. I might try it again sometime. I am sloppy enough without any help from further "humanizing" :)
ML drums is getting really amazing.
It’s sounds Great.
ML and BFD are my favourites. They sound amazing
Excellent choices my friend
I had the same thought about that brass snare, as soon as. I tried it, for some reason, “Sad but true” just played in my mind.😊
Your hats work very well! Great kit!

Can you please talk about what kind of PC you are using to run the VST software? Are you happy with TD17? Sounds great!

Don't use the humanize button? You can get even more variety in sound.
