This is the first time I make a video so long with such massive files (this was 100gb+ between the interview and the footage), it was a PAIN to actually edit, and Premiere crashed 100 times while making the video. I really enjoyed this interview. The only thing I would like to add regarding the "Endless Progression" section; is that BDO does a really good job of retaining "Object Permanence." If a player 2 years ago obtained a TET Dim Tree Spirit's Armor, it's still something useful now. Even Dead God armor, for as strong as it is, is only 8DP higher than a PEN C20 dim at the highest level. New avenues of progression, while definitely present, are more marginal than something like WoW where every expansion makes the last one's top-end irrelevant.
I love Choice. He's spot on about T1 node wars. A new player can be ready for t1 easy/medium in two weeks and have a ton of fun PvPing in those situations.
@@theshapetv9203 you can do t1 node wars in oasis gear, or, if you're seasonal, full tet tuvala, that's considered "entry level", and that would take you literally less than a few weeks if you're brand new the caps are incredibly low, if you're talking about uncapped NW or Siege, sure, that's a long fucking time, but the conversation was entry level the hardest part would be getting the SP, and learning your class/joining a T1 guild that would take you, but gear isn't not an issue at all
From someone that bought a PEN basi for 18b in February I can't help but agree with him, our time right now is worth way less than 1 year ago, it shouldn't be like this, people that are not RNG carried have to save up 20b per PEN piece or 40b for crescents/basi or 70b for tungrads People that have good RNG and get rewarded with stuff like vells, khan, garmoth also get way more money than before. Overall, with such high prices on everything, they're rewarding being lucky way more than hard work since the trash loot we get now is nearly the same as the one we got before (altho agris changed that a little)
Would be cool if vell/khan/garmoth all had an aura system like kzarka/karanda/nouver etc. Even just 1 aura per time would make going feel much more worth it.

excellent video. excellent content, keep up the good work. he mentioned the guild called sailors, i think i know who he was referring to when it game to rmt when selling smh payouts. sea monster hunting would be an excellent topic to do an interview if you ever get the chance to think about what to talk about next. there have been hardcore smh people in guilds like, sailors faketets kancolle bdonavy torrent. if you do decide to go that route, contact sheen. he runs the guild torrent. that guild had a long ass waitlist to get in and it required previous experience, boat gear, and placement on the sailing leaderboard. smh runs deeper than you think. the botting, the speed hacking, the use of controllers, how insane the gap between controller user and keyboard was, the keyboard mouse movement, the gear gap, the nerfs, the more nerfs, the payout nerfs, the abuse (guild hopping rmt). give it a thought.

In my opinion the second on should be better becauce you have a continious Nummer of Hits with High dmg. But the first lands even more Hits but the ones that hit dont Deal as much dmg becauce of the lack of ap. Ould be really interested, what your opinion is
I'm almost the same as this guy. Uncle is one year older and best friend. Me and my brother are always at my grandma, even when she lives in a different country. Doing motorcycle, games and more. We just fit extremely well together and the age barrier is not there. We even party together =P. BDO costed just to much time for me. I went to gamezbd and play a few times a month.
i do agree that PA is really slow to implement things. people suggested a monitoring system for guild storages. it was at the time when SMH was a huge thing. but they only manage to implement it when they nerfed SMH x.x

@Heedun I disagree with you on siege state. You said that in EU it doesn't matter in comparison to NA. The thing is that matters for siege guilds which provides any relevant monetary reward out of pvp with its castle buff and it's your and alike guilds that just break it by mercing. From our perspective you guys playing T2 is like being teenager that flexes in a sandbox in front of toddlers.
@@Heedun you all are geared there to the brim. With gear War and alikes have you have similar or higher strength than most siege guilds. Any guild trying to play with their own gear rather than sit in capped T1 gear is going to land on you or alikes in T2. It's easier to have guild advance from t1 straight to t3 or something like balenos or serandia siege. I played large scale and small scale. It's all the same. Blob of people against other blob. In small-scale it's just smaller. Main is smaller and all scout / flex teams are smaller. That's it. Only difference is castle itself but so far I didn't see you guys have any issue take those on as mercs. Still call yourself a small-scale guild. This small-scale just seems like good excuse to not put any effort into guild progression. Siege seems dead thanks to merc system in conjunction with existence of dedicated "small-scale" merc guilds. Yes, kill siege and complain it's dead.

I think we can agree on the fact that BDO performs poorly on low fps, and the more people you put into the equation, the less the individual skill of the player matters. So based on that reasoning, the less people are engaging in a group fight, the more your skill matters and the game performs at its best. The lowest node cap we have is 30, and i truly believe that's where you can really shine as a guild, where every single member actually can make a difference and you're as strong as your weakest link. You talk about growing as a guild, and i don't think the amount of players you have has anything to do with it. For me growing as a guild is about organization, strength, structure and community. You can have these things with two people, you don't need 100. The misconception that small-scale is inferior to siege has been around since day one and I certainly thought the same at some point, but even the biggest guilds only rely on a small core of people that carry all the dead weight. If siege guilds actually wanted a healthier and stronger siege scene they would have to focus on quality and not quantity. The fact that the strongest siege guild can crumble to an unorganized merc stack says a lot about the siege guild, not the merc system. Enemy and sovereign at their prime would have never lost to a merc stack, but now the top 2 siege guilds are barely top 5 in terms of strength and that has nothing to do with siege or the merc system. Hopefully this is not too rambly and unformatted, i had to type it on my phone since my pc broke lol
@@Heedun oh i can agree on both of those points. I mean I probably wouldn't be that against those strong small-scale guilds if those guilds weren't interfering in siege every Saturday as mercs. If you stayed in small-scale, maybe pop into 60 man fights to sometimes fight siege guilds for nodes and keep Saturday as maybe progress day when you can just grind and go ba/rbf, me and probably the rest of dedicated siege players wouldn't even bother complaining or thinking about small-scale. I enjoyed small-scale before siege, got into Wars meat grinder, fought Demetori in 2v1 and even take node off VoS. All good memories. Other side of the coin, do you think war would do sieges if they were able to do nws as castle holders?

@@ArcherNoElle Choice is saying that softcap (pen armor Tet acc) can kill hardcap (full pen) because the difference in damage and tank is not very much. Pearl abyss hates this because they want more people to throw money at the game and be whales instead of stopping at softcap. Choice is saying he would prefer to play capped PvP as a new player, this means that he is encouraging other new players to be interested in capped PvP. (Which is not a bad thing, but pearl abyss looses money if their scam operation hits a speedbump such as morality) Capped PvP is bad for pearl abyss monetization that requires you to throw money at your screen for your character to be stronger faster in the open world. This is all 10x worse because choice is hard cap (full pen) so his opinion is more valid according to some people, but in addition to this, choice makes some stark contrasting statements referring to runescapes mundane cosmetic endgame and how boring it is, which alludes to the boredom of BDO grind (which connects to my first statement where choice says softcap can kill hardcap, so why bother grind to hardcap? It's so boring just like Runescape killing mobs for rng, and the reward is ESSENTIALLY cosmetic like runescape BECAUSE the ap/dp comparison between softcap and hardcap is small) However he then goes onto say if he was banned and started from scratch he would aim for CAPPED guild node wars not just regular uncapped guild node war. When a player with max gear says he would rather play capped than grind to max gear again, it makes pearl abyss looses money, because their game is designed around predatory convenience payment that would be WASTED in a CAPPED environment. Furthermore, if you play in a capped environment and you STILL have an advantage due to a paid item or something, it makes the PAY 2 WIN element easier to identify. It's no longer pay for convenience when 90% of the playerbase plays capped to avoid the pay 2 convenience of the real game, and then pearl abyss adds new "pearl 500hp buff works in capped PvP" And then their game dies because it's finally stepped over the line of pay 2 convenience and into pay 2 win.
Capped PvP goes against the monetization system of this game, which is predatory pay to convenience. Pearl abyss remedies this by placing capped PvP out of reach unless you grind untill you have enough gear to get access to capped NW. OR you can just play a trial character in BA, but people will bring their main account so it's not always capped. So in a way even the CAPPED PVP has been set up in a predatory way. Do you think BDO will ever have RBF with trial characters ONLY? Never. Never. Never. Why? Because you must run on the money treadmill before you can SNIFF the carrot on a stick. Not even a lick. The developers of this game have stepped into Skinner Box territory and there no going back because they do not see a problem with their own actions. To them it's science, but in reality it is mass psychological manipulation for profit. Something that is illegal for the government to do to you, but gaming companies can do it and so can the media because they make the situation too complex for the average person to understand it's malice, and therefore it can't hold any ground in the court of law because it doesn't get treated seriously, due to lack of reports and negative controversy because nobody can fucking fathom this. The easiest way to fathom it is to say "pay to win" but then people will come defend black desert saying "it's not pay to win". And therefore another voice is silenced because it wasn't using the correct definition of the deep complexity of pearl abyss predatory money treadmill. Play BDO Evolution private server. Highly populated, bug free, reworked Black Desert Online to be FUN.

Dude streaming and becoming famous is 2 things: 1. do all the things right that other popular streamers are doing aswell. Do content that people want to watch, stream at the right time, be challenging all the time, have a good title, ect. second part is, have a good and rememberable voice! (you cant change that)! Rest is just a bonus. This guy was lucky enough to have all the things going for him and then he was lucky to get his gear. Imagine another streamer not having the luck to have this gear, people would not watch him and try to find someone with better gear. RIP! They clearly themself dont really understand why they are the most viewed ones.
Some feedback for the future : Maybe use video clips of the person you are interview doing pvp/grinding/etc in the background you know something relevant to your subject? Watching you grind underwater for an hour is beyond fucking boring

BDO doesn't have a pay 2 win problem, no one pays to win, people pay for small conveniences. The guy with the most gear is the guy that spends the most time making silver, not the guy that spent a few hundred bucks to tap pen safely a few more times.

This is because on a private server you can get things like: Kama buff, value pack, Mervs pallets, old moon book, tent, 5x T4 pets, costume, pet food, fairy reroll, I could literally sit here for 2 hours and list all of the "pay for convenience" This game is 70% pay for convenience. If you play a private server with free pearls and 10x increased exp and drop rates, you will start to realise that all of this pay for convenience is just bloat making a simple game seem more complex with extra steps. When you play a private server the "pay for convenience" is removed and every player has unlocked access to the whole game. Yes in retail you can buy pets and buy pearl items in the central mp, but that doesn't make the monetization any less predatory. I have to admit though: that with the addition of seasonal servers, retail BDO is becoming more accessible to new players. But that does not remove the barrier to entry in the form of pearl items. Yes you can buy it from the market but 100m for a pet when you make 5m per hour fishing and grinding altar imps? It's a fucking pathetic excuse for early game in an mmorpg. Choice would understand this because he plays Runescape and understands the significance of a progression system revolving around exponential growth. (Runescape exp system is exponential) But in Runescape the LOW LEVELS IS FAST, and LV 90-99 is slow. In BDO the entire game is slow. But if you PAY then the early game is fast and the lategame is slow. Like sure, I can play retail for 2 years and WADE through the swamp of fucking putrid pay2 convenience, and say thankyou to pearl abyss when they mail me 5 Cron stones, or I could go and log into a private server, reach softcap in a few weeks, maxed out pearl items and costumes etc, and go and pvp. Simple.

This means this is a skill based PvP setup, and it's directly the OPPOSITE of what pearl abyss wants. Pearl abyss wants you to throw money so you can be strong. Choice prefers capped PvP (like most other people btw) because its skill based. Choice would be attracted to capped PvP if he was a new player. Hence private servers are highly popular because there is no desparity of strength based on external influence of money. Your skill and your time and your luck is the ONLY thing that affects progression in a private server. You can throw 100000$ USD and nothing will happen because private servers do not use the cash shop. They monetize via donation system for premium buffs (for example daily teleport to velia etc). Pearl abyss CREATED SEASONAL SERVER to combat private server popularity. This is a fact. Some of the best PvP players in this game never leave trial character on battle arena. Their BDO gameplay loop is CAPPED PvP 100% of the time and 0% grind. Just think about that.
The only guy I know that actually payed to win making FULL Pen is in eu and he spent 75k euro to buy out all the pens. This is not pay to win. Pay to win its something different, so if you can't see the difference in not gonna try to convince you.

@@ArcherNoElle Choice is saying that softcap (pen armor Tet acc) can kill hardcap (full pen) because the difference in damage and tank is not very much.
Pearl abyss hates this because they want more people to throw money at the game and be whales instead of stopping at softcap.
Choice is saying he would prefer to play capped PvP as a new player, this means that he is encouraging other new players to be interested in capped PvP. (Which is not a bad thing, but pearl abyss looses money if their scam operation hits a speedbump such as morality)
Capped PvP is bad for pearl abyss monetization that requires you to throw money at your screen for your character to be stronger faster in the open world.
This is all 10x worse because choice is hard cap (full pen) so his opinion is more valid according to some people, but in addition to this, choice makes some stark contrasting statements referring to runescapes mundane cosmetic endgame and how boring it is, which alludes to the boredom of BDO grind (which connects to my first statement where choice says softcap can kill hardcap, so why bother grind to hardcap? It's so boring just like Runescape killing mobs for rng, and the reward is ESSENTIALLY cosmetic like runescape BECAUSE the ap/dp comparison between softcap and hardcap is small)
However he then goes onto say if he was banned and started from scratch he would aim for CAPPED guild node wars not just regular uncapped guild node war.
When a player with max gear says he would rather play capped than grind to max gear again, it makes pearl abyss looses money, because their game is designed around predatory convenience payment that would be WASTED in a CAPPED environment.
Furthermore, if you play in a capped environment and you STILL have an advantage due to a paid item or something, it makes the PAY 2 WIN element easier to identify.
It's no longer pay for convenience when 90% of the playerbase plays capped to avoid the pay 2 convenience of the real game, and then pearl abyss adds new "pearl 500hp buff works in capped PvP"
And then their game dies because it's finally stepped over the line of pay 2 convenience and into pay 2 win.
Capped PvP goes against the monetization system of this game, which is predatory pay to convenience.
Pearl abyss remedies this by placing capped PvP out of reach unless you grind untill you have enough gear to get access to capped NW. OR you can just play a trial character in BA, but people will bring their main account so it's not always capped.
So in a way even the CAPPED PVP has been set up in a predatory way.
Do you think BDO will ever have RBF with trial characters ONLY? Never. Never. Never.
Why? Because you must run on the money treadmill before you can SNIFF the carrot on a stick. Not even a lick.
The developers of this game have stepped into Skinner Box territory and there no going back because they do not see a problem with their own actions. To them it's science, but in reality it is mass psychological manipulation for profit. Something that is illegal for the government to do to you, but gaming companies can do it and so can the media because they make the situation too complex for the average person to understand it's malice, and therefore it can't hold any ground in the court of law because it doesn't get treated seriously, due to lack of reports and negative controversy because nobody can fucking fathom this. The easiest way to fathom it is to say "pay to win" but then people will come defend black desert saying "it's not pay to win". And therefore another voice is silenced because it wasn't using the correct definition of the deep complexity of pearl abyss predatory money treadmill.

Dude streaming and becoming famous is 2 things: 1. do all the things right that other popular streamers are doing aswell. Do content that people want to watch, stream at the right time, be challenging all the time, have a good title, ect. second part is, have a good and rememberable voice! (you cant change that)!

a good example of a good private server is BDO Evolution
BDO doesn't have a pay 2 win problem, no one pays to win, people pay for small conveniences. The guy with the most gear is the guy that spends the most time making silver, not the guy that spent a few hundred bucks to tap pen safely a few more times.

This is because on a private server you can get things like: Kama buff, value pack, Mervs pallets, old moon book, tent, 5x T4 pets, costume, pet food, fairy reroll, I could literally sit here for 2 hours and list all of the "pay for convenience"
This game is 70% pay for convenience. If you play a private server with free pearls and 10x increased exp and drop rates, you will start to realise that all of this pay for convenience is just bloat making a simple game seem more complex with extra steps.
When you play a private server the "pay for convenience" is removed and every player has unlocked access to the whole game.
Yes in retail you can buy pets and buy pearl items in the central mp, but that doesn't make the monetization any less predatory.
I have to admit though: that with the addition of seasonal servers, retail BDO is becoming more accessible to new players. But that does not remove the barrier to entry in the form of pearl items. Yes you can buy it from the market but 100m for a pet when you make 5m per hour fishing and grinding altar imps? It's a fucking pathetic excuse for early game in an mmorpg.
Choice would understand this because he plays Runescape and understands the significance of a progression system revolving around exponential growth. (Runescape exp system is exponential)
But in Runescape the LOW LEVELS IS FAST, and LV 90-99 is slow.
In BDO the entire game is slow. But if you PAY then the early game is fast and the lategame is slow.
Like sure, I can play retail for 2 years and WADE through the swamp of fucking putrid pay2 convenience, and say thankyou to pearl abyss when they mail me 5 Cron stones, or I could go and log into a private server, reach softcap in a few weeks, maxed out pearl items and costumes etc, and go and pvp. Simple.

This means this is a skill based PvP setup, and it's directly the OPPOSITE of what pearl abyss wants. Pearl abyss wants you to throw money so you can be strong. Choice prefers capped PvP (like most other people btw) because its skill based. Choice would be attracted to capped PvP if he was a new player. Hence private servers are highly popular because there is no desparity of strength based on external influence of money.
Your skill and your time and your luck is the ONLY thing that affects progression in a private server. You can throw 100000$ USD and nothing will happen because private servers do not use the cash shop. They monetize via donation system for premium buffs (for example daily teleport to velia etc).
Pearl abyss CREATED SEASONAL SERVER to combat private server popularity. This is a fact.
Some of the best PvP players in this game never leave trial character on battle arena. Their BDO gameplay loop is CAPPED PvP 100% of the time and 0% grind. Just think about that.
The only guy I know that actually payed to win making FULL Pen is in eu and he spent 75k euro to buy out all the pens.
This is not pay to win.
