We have gone through SO MANY changes with chore charts. Giant chart, simple chart, virtual, blah. Finally found something that works for us. We do a max dollar amount each kid can earn and we stuff binders every other Friday. They can earn $5 per week max: grades, behavior and finishing chores. Do what works for you. I love hearing about other styles and tips.
I’ve always felt that challenges are a bit overrated in the budgeting community. They are fun and useful but overused most of the times. You are doing an awesome job putting priorities in order. Wishing you the best of luck!
I actually love this reevaluation and reshuffling of money. It helps you fine tune your process. I'm all about making my financial life simple and functional. Great video!
YOUR SO RIGHT THINGS DEFINITELY CHANCE SOMETIMES MINUTE TO MINUTE HOUR TO HOUR AND DAY BY DAY NEVER MIND MONTHS AND YEARS MY LIFE ISNT EVEN RECOGNIZABLE ANYMORE SO PRIORITIES DO CHANGE GO WITH THE FLOW ITS LIKE HAVING A SKELETON OUTLINE BUT THE FILLERS ARE DIFFERENT
Hii☺️ I have watch so so soooo many videos of cash stuffing and how to use the cash binder system, and this one so far has been one that I ACTUALLY understand fully! So thank you🙏🏽
I think reevaluating your budget and where you are at in life is important. It's real and authentic to who you are. Thank you for sharing your thought process and what you have learned!
I loved this video! I think we all have to reset our binders and get refreshed because things do change. You are doing what you need to do for your sweet little family. Good job! I’m your Louisiana neighbor!
If you have car insurance then you are probably already paying them for roadside service (which is all AAA is). You could save a lot of $$ by using your roadside service.
I love thrift books! I actually added a books sinking fund after seeing one of your past videos. But, I am the reader in the house and I can easily read a book in just a few days. If I have the time I can actually read a book in a day...lol. So, a book sinking fund makes sense for me. We also homeschool, and, although I do have a homeschool sinking fund, I will probably use some of the book fund to buy literature books we want to do.
I appreciate your openness and honesty about where finances are at. I think thats motiviation for new budgeters that it's okay to prioritize what needs to be done and what bills need to be paid. Excited to see your journey ahead!
Hey, Jordan! I got an iPhone SE a few months ago and I’m really happy with it. It’s well protected in a nice otterbox case, so should last several years. I also went with mint mobile and paid for a year in advance for a 4GB/plan, which comes to only $15/month. (I did a 3 month unlimited plan first to see how much data I used, turns out since I’m almost always home on Wi-Fi I use hardly any and don’t even come close to 4GB/month). Anyway, might be useful info for you ❤️
Thanks for the great video! Just wanted to throw it out there that public libraries are a great resource for day passes (to museums, play centers/ kid friendly activities, etc.). They offer a discount or free admission to so many places! Maybe something to look into as you move to a new city. 😀
So fun fact.....your dryer has a heat element that may need replacing. The complete kit is approximatley $50 depending on the brand. You can replace it yourself or find a handyman to do it. I replaced mine 5 times before I bought a new dryer.
When I moved from fl to ms I didn’t get a new tag until I bought a new car here which was almost 2 years after I moved here. I still had my fl dl and tag lol. And $30 is so nice mine was $285 this year because we didn’t put hubs on my car to get the military exemption. So excited to see and hear about your trip! Hubs and child are leaving to go up to his moms and I have a whole week to myself until I go up there next week so excited!!
Miranda you and I are so twins. I've lived other places before and I never renewed or changed to that state. 🙈 Ohhh a whole week to yourself, I'm jealous! 💗💗💗
Jordan, you can always call the TN DMV to get estimates and see if you need inspections n whatnot. I used to work with title n tags at a car dealership, also any registration fees. Usually, you have 30 days but can "slide" by doing everything at time of renewal instead of right away.
Un hook your dryer and take the vacuum cleaner hose to clean out the big hole in the back of the dryer. Your dryer might have to much lint build up in it. Replace your dryer vent hose to.
Jordan, safe travels to Tennessee. I get books from Thrift books. They have some of the really hard to find books. You can even start wish list for each of your sons. I have one started for my grandkids. I love that most of their books are only 3.49 and up.
THRIFT BOOKS YESSSS!!!!!! There's also Book Outlet that has some okay prices for Children's book titles, but it's more like "half-off" unless you find a "bargain buy." If you have questions about either site let me know because I buy books all the time! Also, I love the refocus of your bills. It's always good to analyze what you're doing and if it's working or not! I took your advice to heart when you said to start simple, so lol it's good to see you doing that again!
Ohh I will check out Book Outlet too, thank you! I see you uploaded a channel trailer, can't wait to check it out and I'm so excited to follow your budget journey! 💗💗💗
Hello came across your ch .& like you Im also starting over myself,,with the last hurricane we had here in Louisiana hit a few months back lights being out a whole week,i had to use all the money i had in my binders& 100 envelopes challenge i was doing& 5 10&20 dollar challenge but i was happy i had it cause it actually really came in handy thank God!!.now it just seem like im having a hard time doing it now like i could stuff my binders but would have to go right back& take the money out for something
Im starting a refresher on mine due to student loans that are coming up in the new year so hopefully everything goes according to plan for next year. Loved your video can wait for the next
I think you should be good until your tag expires, but I would definitely check into that. Good luck with your trip! The Triple AAA was definitely a good investment. I’ve found as I’ve tried to figure out budgeting, etc, simple is best.
Hi Jordan! I love the new set up! Reason being you sound more excited and good about going back to the basics. So I feel if you feel good about your budget then it makes me happy! You could switch a million times and I’d still watch lol. ☺️❤️🌸
I really enjoyed this video! You do what you have to do for bills and stuffing! It is understandable with the holidays and new year coming up faster than we want. You're doing a great job! Hopefully, I'll be getting the saving challenges sooner than the new year.
Hey Jordan. Quick tip on the dryer. Make sure to clean your lint trap and have it serviced. Sounds like either clogged lint trap inside or the heat element. I’m resetting all of my envelopes first of the year and hitting your shop to save me some time. Hugs
Hi Jordan I’m excited to hear more about your planner business I want to start a envelope for it I also agree sometimes you just have to decide what’s more important have a great rest of your day
Back to basics. Girl I am doing the same. As I was watching I’m currently resetting up cash sinking funds. It’s what I used to do in the beginning and I stopped doing cash saving and did online. Which is fine but I saw that I saved more in cash than I did online. So I got some of your savings challenges and am putting them to use next pay!
Ohhh I'm so excited to see what you use! And yesss, I've bounced around between cash budget and cards throughout the years. I definitely save more when I'm cash stuffing. Thanks for watching! 💗💗💗
Jordan I know you have a lot in your hands. But I was wondering if you could print out the one month ahead freebies. I don’t have a printer. You did it for me last time I bought the package. I appreciate it. Ty
I just found your channel and I would call your cell provider and let them know you have AAA. My cell provider pays the cheapest plan and I pay the extra for the plan I want through AAA. It's really nice, and as don't think people know about that. You can get discounts on alot of things for having AAA. Worth looking into. 😊 Looks like you are doing great! Excited to watch your videos.
I only pay an additional $5 per month for roadside assistance with my car insurance company. In GA we can go to the public library and borrow a dvd on the Zoo Atlanta. When we return the video we get 4 free passes to the zoo. This can be done once a year. I saw online that if you get government assistance the Tennessee zoo offers discount memberships. I have a local thrift store where I buy my books. They are usually $0.25 for paperback and $0.50 for hardback. As for the dryer-clean the lint filter with dawn dish washing detergent. The heating element is usually the problem and this occurs due to build up of fabric softener on the screen.
Simplicity is always the best way to go. As a person with Obsessive/Compulsive Disorder, I admire you and can tell you how easy it is to get carried away with organization (you should see my pantry and closets!). I know it's "wrong" but I can't stop. One of my obsessions is money. Not in a greedy sense but an organizational and saving sense. I'm the person who will take the time to pick up a penny in a parking lot. lol Anyway, don't feel bad about streamlining your process and getting back to basics. I would do it if I could but at this point I could probably fight off 6 Navy SEALS with my bare hands if they tried to take away my weekly Savings Challenges, Monthly Savings Challenges, and Yearly Challenges! I know I could and should streamline my system, but I would rather chop off my right arm. LOL Keep up the good work! You're doing a fantastic job!
My dryer was doing the same thing. I had a friend come out and clean the dryer vent that goes out of the house. Tons of lint was stuck in the vent and the dryer worked perfectly fine afterwards. This might not be your issue but it may be worth a try.
Weellll Tianna I feel silly admitting this but.. the hose was pinched. 😂 So over the course of the last month or so I've been slowly saving to replace a dryer, and then when I started investigating a month later it was such an easy fix. Thank goodness! ❤️ In a more recent cash stuffing I did move the $60 I'd saved over from Dryer Fund to Winter Vacation Fund.. so it all worked out, lol.
This may sound silly. I plan on starting Jan 1st check I’ll be working on. February 1st bills, then follow suit. So basically once my bills are paid for February I’ll be working one March.😩 trying to make sense of this. Lol because I’m really trying to get my spending under control.
I live in Kentucky on the state line with Tennessee. I don't think you have to update your car tag as soon as you move. You do have to update your driver's license within 30 days though. In Kentucky at least a license plate stays with the car for the life of the car. If sell your car to someone else the registration is considered paid for until that person's next birth month. Like I pay mine every February. But if I sold my car in March to someone who has a birthday in June, they would have to pay for the registration again in June, even though I just paid it in February.
i want to order the 24 challenge printable. what is the best paper to print it on? new to this and want to be as efficient as possible \for my success! thank you Jordan. :)
I love the simplicity of this Jordan let’s not talk about how many binders I have lol I was supposed to start budgeting on November 1 looks like it’s going to be first week in December but I like that you’re simplifying it I have one large large painter 5 inches that house holds my entire budgeting household TH-cam and all my other things such as saving challenges and all I just section them off with page dividers as far as it goes to my little syncing fun binders that’s why I’m gonna get in trouble I think I have like six lol love your channel girl congratulations on the growth girl you are just rocking it I wanna see you at 6K by the end of this month
Hahaha if you have a lot and have fun with it, then I say go with it!! I'm excited for you to start your journey, I loved your starting budgeting video that you put up recently, I can't wait to see where you go with all of it. 💗💗💗
I will be honest that I did not read to see if anyone else mentioned this but I would absolutely look at every place you go to membership and see if they have reciprocal relationships with any of the museums or places you might want to go when you move. Museums and science centers often have a relationship with other museums and Science and there's around the country
Love that you rethought things out. You do what’s best for you. It’s not a bad idea to do that. I might have to do the same. I’m almost caught up with your videos. I have watched all of them 😀 and I’m so happy I did.
JOrdan that is me talking about the washer/dryer i have an env right now i have about 800.00 thinking i save til the new year . I love that tracker so you sale those?
I live in MS too and my county has the highest car tag prices in the entire state. 😂 I paid $300 this month to renew mine! Its insane that the next county over is like $25.
I think reevaluating your folders was an awesome idea. We really do need to stop and look at our priorities from time to time, don't we 😉. Looking forward to your email sweetie. See yah soon
Hey Jordan! I think it’s super important to revamp or at least take a look at what’s working and not in your budget. Have a wonderful weekend friend🥰💚😊
You may only need a heating element on your dryer. You should check if a friend or family member can help you. Also TH-cam how to change it on your specific dryer. They are almost always the problem and you won't need a new dryer at the moment. This will give you time to save up for it. Additionally, it will save on your electric bill to not have to run your dryer two or three times!
Jordan your doing a great job 👏🏻 with your sinking funds. It’s natural your getting nervous 😬 cause your moving soon and they are going to be a lot of changes. But have faith in our God and he will help you go through smoothly. By the loved 🥰 your video as always. Never miss it. You don’t have a man besides you but you have our God that will take care of you and your whole family. Many blessings…

you had an extra 10 when you got to 900! you went straight from 880 to 900. love that you’re reevaluating your budget and starting fresh.
Dryer tip: if you run your clothes through an extra spin cycle they will dry faster since there is less water in them. Hope that helps. Great video 👍👍
I actually love this reevaluation and reshuffling of money. It helps you fine tune your process. I'm all about making my financial life simple and functional. Great video!
Resetting one's budget is such a good idea because priorities and circumstances change. Glad you're doing what works for you, Jordan 🙂

I think reevaluating your budget and where you are at in life is important. It's real and authentic to who you are. Thank you for sharing your thought process and what you have learned!
Agree! I am starting over In January again simplifying what works for our household and only have the necessary savings categories.
I loved this video! I think we all have to reset our binders and get refreshed because things do change. You are doing what you need to do for your sweet little family. Good job! I’m your Louisiana neighbor!
Yes I love my AAA membership! It gives you a sense of stability and independence when it comes to cars!!
If you have car insurance then you are probably already paying them for roadside service (which is all AAA is). You could save a lot of $$ by using your roadside service.

Yes. I pulled all the 5's and 1's I saved throughout the year for black friday and xmas
Notification squad! Love your channel! I’m so excited to see where you relocate all of your money! Also you had $20 in your Christmas envelope! ❤️
I SAW THAT! Good catch, I noticed after I turned off the camera on Monday! Thanks for always showing up (and helping out!) Naseebah! 💗
Oh man, I totally agree about percentage budgeting! It just feels too abstract! I love an easy, clean, straightforward system.
Right?! I tried it for a hot second. Literally, on Monday. Then on Tuesday I was like, "eh, better not." 😂

From Tn, they normally aren’t super expensive ( but if you know your county your going to live in you can search tag prices)

When my mom organized her bills she would criss cross the money every time she would get 100 to keep track of how much she had

AAA is a must!! Good investment on your part.
Love that you rethought things out. You do what’s best for you. It’s not a bad idea to do that. I might have to do the same. I’m almost caught up with your videos. I have watched all of them 😀 and I’m so happy I did.

New here from budgeting community. I like the idea of a reset of your budget and binders.
I have the iphone SE. It is an ok phone. Sucks not to be able to connect to 4 G at least. Won’t work for 5 G if you are wanting it.
I live in MS too and my county has the highest car tag prices in the entire state. 😂 I paid $300 this month to renew mine! Its insane that the next county over is like $25.
$300?! Omg 😳 I would die! Here in Connecticut it’s $110 and I’m stressed with that amount lol
They usually run from anywhere from 30 and up here for your tags.
I think reevaluating your folders was an awesome idea. We really do need to stop and look at our priorities from time to time, don't we 😉. Looking forward to your email sweetie. See yah soon
Absolutely! 💗 Checking my emails tonight and I'll get back with you then! 💗💗💗
You should check your car insurance to see if roadside assistance is already included.
I live in Tennessee. If I remember correctly, car tags run about $90
Jordan your doing a great job 👏🏻 with your sinking funds.
