Is It Safe to Remove Your Nails With Dish Soap+Water+Oil 🤔

  • I saw the trend of using Dish Soap + Water + Oil for Nail Removal on TIK TOK, and wondered why does it appear to work for some and not others? In this video I explain in detail why this happens (and doesn’t happen).

I bought your nail system awhile back and I love it! It gives me enough time to get the acrylic where I want it. However twice now I have gotten so excited to use it that I have forgotten to put the prep and primer on one hand then then other the next time. Both times I have done this I have not had any lifting or any problems with my nails. I, however plan on trying to do better about remembering to put them on both hands from now on. I want to thank you Susie for your videos and your products so that I can have nails again. See I’m disabled and I can’t just go to salon and sit there waiting because I can’t sit for long in on spot. And there are some times I’m in pain so making appointment is really no good because I don’t know what my pain level will be from one day to the next. Anyway sorry about the rambling just to say thank you so much for giving me nails back. And I think I’m getting pretty good. Please keep the videos coming. I’d love to see one with you and camera together where we can see both your faces.

I love wearing acrylics, because my hands are in water so much (hot soapy water, water with chemicals, you name it), and the acrylic protects my natural nail. Without them my natural nails will break off, split, tear, etc.
Right now, my nails have broken off one way or the other to the skin. There is hardly any free edge left. Cuz I’ve not had time to do the acrylics for a good while now.
Ps: I hate gloves, I have them and I hate working with them, I have tried.

I feel that this method is only for press on nails. I've worn acrylic nails for more than 40 years and nothing would take off my acrylic nails besides a professional nail technician. I've now have graduated to using only press on nails they have come so far that it is you can't tell the difference, I'm sorry there's no way anybody can tell the difference every time someone sees my hands they ask me "oh my G-d what's nail salon do you go to?" it's phenomenal how the press on nails have come. And again you're 100% correct and stating that this oil soap and dishwater which is when I'm using right now to help soften the glue and then I use a remover to take off the remaining nail without damaging it.

I think this is what I've been doing to destroy my natural nail bed. As my polish chips off, I fill and top coat but at the cuticle it loosens. I get about 6 weeks doing this before my natural nails get shorter and shorter and more damaged on the ends. If the polish didn't chip off almost daily from heavy use and I didn't just let the nails come off in the shower or dishwater I would have better luck. I think I need a good acrylic or gel coating to start with. My worry is that changing or doing polish replacements that I'll destroy the. nail enhancement that is on for a long duration. My last nail tech didn't want to do any gel -she said she was afraid to use gel. It's hard to find someone such as yourself who has the knowledge and skill to do perfect nails.

The other only way I think it would work if a nail peel off base coat is used before soaking. I agree with you Suzie.

This only works with stick on nails i sometimes do that to give my nails a break from acrylics and use this as a remover 😊😊😊

Worked for me and i had gel nails. Of course yes there is a little thats still stuck on but it worked great for me. But I had mine for 1.5 weeks and did that after they already lifted.

Hey girl hey, big fan... been a long term subscriber and I can't recall a video on dip removal.. im having such a hard time with it.. I efile all the shine off then soak off but my fingers get all sticky does that mean I'm not taking enough off w the efile? Also we learned about the ring of fire in class will all bits hurt my nails if not used correctly? I know some bits will damage skin but some are super smooth on the skin does that mean they are safe for the nails because sometimes I wonder if im taking off my nail or the dip residue... please help a girl out.. im trying to get prepared for the second shut down I am not missing out on my nails this go around lol

It works best on press on nails. I've tried it on poly gel as well and it doesn't work.

I’m new to press ons and I want to change to a new set. However, I used kiss glue and they just wouldn’t budge. I even tried this exact warm water+oil+dish soap method. I don’t want to soak them in acetone because I still want to reuse my press ons. What can you recommend to safely remove glued on press ons? I saw one video about using debonders, it works (in the video), but it leaves the nail dehydrated 😅

To my knowledge, there is nothing. We cannot use strong adhesive to adhere some thing, and then peel them off easily without causing any irritation to the natural nail. Soaking with water, oil and soap does not work if that was the case every time you had a bath your nails would come off. so there is nothing to my knowledge to keep a nail adhered and then easily removed when you want

What about removal of gel polish with magic remover or gel breaker. Is it safe?

Just as you said, it works on lifted nail enhancements. But the mix should be mostly soap and oil with just enough water to get it slurry.

Even with nail glue it doesn’t work if you applied the nails properly with glue! I do dishes, love my bubble baths and I’m constantly washing my hands with hot water and industrial soap and not once have my hand made press ons lifted or popped off and that’s with using both abs full nails and full gel nails! 🤷‍♀️

I read that on Tik tok, the mixture is supposed to be 3/4 dish soap, 1/3 water and 3-4 TBSP of olive oil

This method is only meant for press on nails, use nail glue or adhesive tabs

i think this is ok to do with JUST gel polish (no hard gels or polygel or anything else), i used to do it and de gel gets soft and it comes of without damaging the nail. Also you can never do it with new nails, you need them to be outgrown
