I hope everyone who does this regularly uses a strong spf on their hands first, or the gloves you can buy that protect your skin (tips are cut off so you can cure nails). If you don’t protect your hands, you’ll end up with a lot of sun damage = age spots, later on.
How long do you think gel x nails would last as an apprentice hairdresser? My main concern is having my hands constantly in water even though I’m only part time:)
Can you paint the extensions first, do all your designs, and *then* go to glue them onto your nails or would all the layers of gel affect the adhesion and not cure properly??

I must have some terrible tips because I got a gelX kit a couple months ago and prepped my nails really well and they would stay on for like a day and then one or two would pop off and I was left with a peeled white consistency on my nails of the gel and some would come off and the rest was stuck really well and I cured them like 3 times to make sure they were dry and still were messed up!
Ok so you did a good job and those look really cute, but those are not gel x tips or gel x adhesive gel. Gel X is a specific brand. Not a cheap one either.
the tips won’t adhere to the nail bed if there is color on the nail already. the tip has to be transparent in order for it to fully cure onto the nail!

From my experience no, it depends what adhesive you use- personally I use builder gel and when they eventually come off they you just peel off the thin coat of that and your nail is completely undamaged and healthy underneath.
Gel-x is becoming one of those brand names that turn into generic words like Kleenex, band aid and Tupperware lmao. I've had people ask what type of extensions I use and if i say gel tips they're like ????? until I say it's like gel-x

You May be confusing some of your viewers by using incorrect terminology and calling it Gel X but not actually using anything from the Gel X line. I work in the nail industry.

Not all need to be buffed inside you can get pre buffed or you can get a pre etch fluid to paint on

Regular Polish won't last as long as Gel Polish does, but you can use regular polish
All nail down are abs plastic. I did a lot of investigating with this I don't know why they have the word softgel on them because they are not gel.
