I got some sort of mandatory shot when I was born in a hospital in Pretoria (south africa) even though my mom was against it, but I'm not sure what it was for, maybe vitamin K otherwise I've never been vaccinated and I ended up fine I guess. but I guess it's up to your parents.
Also another thing I wasn’t mentally prepared for was once the baby is out and you’re in recovery or whatever they immediately try and latch baby to breastfeed and it was extremely overwhelming for me and I wasn’t mentally prepared for how fast your breastfeeding journey starts! And one more piece of advice would be to bring premade formula in bottles incase you do get overwhelmed. Just so you do have that option! Breastfeeding is so so hard and I was not prepared how hard it would be. But that was just my personal experience. Hopefully you have no issues and baby has a great latch and hopefully your milk comes in right away! A great thing to have also is a pump, vitamin d drops, and a baby probiotic. I cannot remember the name of it right now but I can look it up if you’re interested.
Thats good to know! Its crazy how different people's breastfeeding experiences can be! I am curious to find out if it will be challenging or easy for me. Thank you for the advice!
My advice would be to not be afraid to speak up and to listen to your body! My midwife was telling me to push when my body didn’t feel like it needed to. And I wish I asked her to stop. And for me to do it in my own. ( I did have an epidural, it was amazing) it didn’t hurt at all. But I will say this, babies heart rate dropped multiple times and I did end up having an emergency c section. So I would definitely mentally prepare for the possibility of a c section. I wish I watched more videos on it so I could be more mentally prepared. Because it happened all so so fast! I also wish I asked my midwife to film it. She did take pictures but I wish I had a video to look back on. I’m not sure if they are allowed to film so I would definitely ask about that if that’s what you’re wanting to do. Also the miles circuit and membrane sweep speed up me going into active labour. Also when I got the epidural I wish I napped but my adrenaline was so high I wasn’t able to. So definitely recommend calming music. Wishing you a happy and healthy birth ❤
Such big times ahead! It helped me so much just the thought of 'you are stronger than you think' and trusting those around me and knowing plans can change and that's ok too. I did go without any pain meds for all three. It was odd as my risks were higher if I had an epidural, so I just kind of didn't think about it and oddly I didn't think once about asking for pain meds. Though no shade to anyone who does, it's so personal!
Yes to praying for such strength and peace for the welcome of your little one! PS. I was so sad I couldn't come to your shower, as it was our recital weekend!
I have been looking forward to this video 🤗
Me too! And i was hoping she would film it in the car lol

The part where you talk about why you want your son to follow God, made me tear up. You will be a wonderful mother Alicia

I appreciated being at the hospital and the maternity rooms now are so spacious and well equipped.

That's such a good mantra for child birth! I love that
Thank you ❤️ Aw thats okay! Next time 😉
That's cool that your clinic has both midwives and doctors! I dont know if i would prefer a dr or a midwife 🤔
I like midwives because in my experience they often feel more personable and relatable
Neither do i, thats why im with them lol
