I respect those who like 4 doors, but please see my perspective. I'm a big guy with wide shoulders. The "B" pillars of 4 door vehicles always hits me right in the shoulder. It's like sitting between 2 big, fat guys in a plane. That's why I drive a 2 door Silverado. I love my truck, but it's getting old and I would love a fuel efficient or even electric option with modern features. The El Camino of old had nice, roomy cabs and nice, long doors because they didn't fool with a back seat or too many doors. This also allows for a longer bed with a shorter overall length, less weight, better efficiency and a lower price tag. Standardizing on a single cab design will also save Chevy money. It's the best solution for an inexpensive, fun to drive and comfortable utility vehicle. Not everyone needs or wants a back seat and there are plenty of other options for those who do.
I’m a big and tall guy too, and I gotta have the seat as far back as it’ll go so I can get in. With a four door car, I’ve already ripped my pants on the door jamb of a four door car, because they’re just not long enough. Also, the B pillar blocks my peripheral vision, so another reason I’m not a fan of a four door car. Never had that trouble with a two door, so that’s all I’ll buy. ✌🏾
I liked El Caminos back in the day. I worked in an Automotive shop for ten years between 1975 to 1985. SBC engines were all the same. My employer for the last four or five years of that time coudnt read, but could put a small block together with an air wrench in his sleep. I would like to see less fancy stuff and go back to the simpilar days of utility, reliability, simplicity, and fair prices. 47,000 is a lot of money for what that is.
I think it will be a sharp looking truck, but have both models a two-door, which it always has been and a four-door for people that want four doors and I do love the SS look model!!!! I’m glad to see it coming back because there’s a lot of people that love the El Camino !!!!!
