    If you were lucky enough to be in an arcade that had the full 360º motion deluxe cabinet - it was an awesome experience.

      It was an arcade game and a ride all in one!

      What?? That sounds fucking cool. I miss the good ol arcade days

      They had a couple of deluxe cabinets at seaside resorts. £1 a go, but it was worth it. I think it was the first game of this type i remember where background objects (such as the blue planet in the first stage) could actually be flown towards.

      It sure was! I was one of the fortunate ones to experience it in all its 360º motion glory twice back in the day as a kid! A shocking & very thrilling experience! Good times indeed!

    I remember as a kid, that part flying over that sun/fire planet or whatever was one of the coolest things I had ever seen in any video game ever. Also, I think I only personally played this game like once or twice, because my arcade had the 360° cabinet, and it cost a whole dollar to play. :\

    I dropped a lot of coins in that one, on the fantastic 360° cabinet. 4th stage fortress was where i was mostly failing due to lack of visibility, compounded by the reflections on screen (the arcade was part of a fair, with lot of ambient lights).
    Once i got the trick of "left turn" that was not a real "left turn" and stopped stupidly hitting the walls, the rest of the game was not so hard, got to be very aggressive to keep the energy levels at 1000+ after each section. And one day i finished the whole thing on one coin, not even playing a flawless game like posted here, still did it, when i climbed down from the arcade cabinet my legs were shaking from the adrenaline rush :D

    Finally, found it! After 31 years! I saw this game when i was 8..never had a chance to play.. Everytime, we went to arcade, I always watch people playing it. Now its gone, but the memories is very precious! 😁

    USED TO PLAY THIS BACK IN MY ARCADE DAYS.
    Unnecessarily huge cabinet that you had to sit down in to play this game - and it was a "quarter muncher" to top it off. But even so, this game should be remade with today's 3D graphics. It's still a fun game nonetheless.

      Yep cuz of the damn hardware limitations and more difficult than the arcade version. I'm not sure if a 6-button pad had all the controls including the blasters manually while the standard 3-button pad set the guns automatically

      @@menartd2618 I can't speak for kaydee, but at the time this game came out I was still in high school, getting a $10-a-week allowance. This game cost $1 just to play, because the arcade opted for the deluxe cabinet (which was $25,000)... they had to make up the money with a high price to play it.

    These graphics are weird. There's so much 3D effects, but no polygon models.

    • @qaanalyst
      @qaanalyst 8 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      That's because this game used sprites. There are no polys, as far as I remember.

    • @fktcd
      @fktcd 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think it's called something like sprite-based 3D graphics. Parallax only moves horizontal and vertical. It's just funny because even Space Harrier had a ground, and sometimes a ceiling on the Mega Drive. I like the idea, but it's too low res to look very good, it's overloaded, complicated looking. Not to mention games like Pole Position had a sort of a proper ground, it still looked funny though.

    • @joshgrondie7545
      @joshgrondie7545 8 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Don't judge the quality of Galaxy Force by this video. The arcade machine had graphics that ran at 60fps and I'm going to guess 480p resolution. The effect was very good as a follow up to games like Space Harrier, After Burner and Power Drift.
