Love, Death, and, Robots is so good and has some of the best animation I’ve ever seen. I love this kind of format and I think doing it with video games is perfect. I wonder if the title Secret Level means the stories are an alternative universe or what ifs? It could just be a gaming reference but I’m interested to see.
This show is super validating as a bunch of people still regard video games the same as they did 40 years ago, and this is a chance for people who don’t play games to understand the quality of stories that can come from them.

As someone who is not a gamer, but loved Love Death & Robots, and watches my husband game, I’m actually really really into this. Would love a reaction to it.
This show was created because of years and years of player feedback that Blur Studio needs to make a show with the same graphics/animation that they use with their in-game cutscenes. Their work is so beautiful that players have asked for years to make a full show/movie.
This is something video game fans have been wanting for well over a decade. How many beautifully made cinematic trailers have we wanted to see expanded into either movies or episodes of TV? Especially for Star Wars The Old Republic.

In actual current know facts (from GW's reports to their shareholders as of a month or two ago): Games Workshop and Amazon have until December of this year to either agree on a plan going forward, end the agreement, or extend the negotiations for longer. Would absolutely LOVE you guys to react to LD&R (unless the maj of y'all have seen it) and I could not beg for 40K content any more than now, between the fan animations from Astartes to all of SODAZ's work and not to mention Bricky's videos that are great for new people coming into the hobby!
If you haven't seen Love Death + Robots, you should. It will be a good warm up to Secret Level. LD+R is an anthology of one episode original stories (not tied to an existing IP like Secret Levels) of different genres made by different animation studios. Also produced by Blur Studios.
I'm curious if for some of these games, they will actually be canon to their stories. Like the Kratos one, I could see being an extra adventure of his (maybe set after Ragnarok?).
Though it might turn out to look awesome across all episodes, I'm thinking they're betting on Warhammer and God of War to carry this whole thing, as most people will care most for these two. Also this whole thing is probably intended as a big experiment to see which episodes get most views and they will judge that particular franchise for a possibility of a standalone show. Clever.
On the shot with Kratos you can see modern buildings in the back, which makes me think this isn't gonna be a short set in the GoW universe, but more of a scenario in which Kratos appears in a world in which videogame characters pop out of the games like Ready Player One, which isn't nearly as exciting.
Omg imagine all the legal stuff that went on behind the scenes to make this happen 🤯 deals for who gets the longest runtime, who gets the first episode and which order they go in, the best studio to do their episode… it must’ve been a crazy time for them and a bunch of money thrown at their own episodes coz each IP would want theirs to be the first one the best one the most detailed and the best overall 💀💀💀
