Lets LET THE QURAN SPEAK on Tawaffā's meaning. Meaning of Tawaffā (26 occurrences) • Death (used along with the word "mawt") (4 āyāt) ○ 4:15 confine the guilty women to houses until death takes them (yatawaffā) or Allah ordains for them a way. ○ 6:61 He sends over you guardians until, when death comes to one of you, Our messengers take him (tawaffa), and they do not fail. ○ 32:11 The angel of death will take you (yatawaffā) ○ 39:42 Allah takes (yatawaffā) the Anfus at the time of its death, and those that do not die during its sleep. • Death (used alone) (18 āyāt) ○ 2:234/240 And those who are taken in death (yutawaffawn) among you and leave wives behind ... ('iddah/wasiyyah) ○ 3:193/7:126 ...cause us to die (tawaffa) with the abrār/muslims ○ 12:101 cause me to die (tawaffa) a Muslim ○ 4:97/16:28/16:32 Indeed, those whom the angels take [in death] (ta-tawaffā) ○ 7:37 until when Our messengers come to them to take them in death (yatawaffawn) ○ 8:50 And if you could but see when the angels take the souls (yatawaffā) ○ 47:27 when the angels take them in death (tawaffa) ○ 10:46/13:40/40:77 And whether We show you some of what We promise them, or We take u in death (natawaffa) ○ 10:104 I worship Allah, who causes your death (yatawaffā) ○ 16:70 Allah created you; then He will take you in death (yatawaffā) ○ 22:5 among you is he who is taken in [early] death (yutawaffa), and among you is he who is returned to the most decrepit [old] age. ○ 40:67 among you is he who is taken in death (yutawaffā) before [becoming old] • Sleep (only Nafs, not Rūḥ) ○ 39:42 Allah takes (yatawaffā) the Nafs at the time of its death, and those that do not die during its sleep (manāmi-hā). ○ 6:60 And it is He who takes you (yatawaffā) by night (bil-layl) and knows what you have committed by day. Then He revives (b-'-th) you therein that a specified term may be fulfilled... when death comes to one of you, Our messengers take him (tawaffa), and they do not fail. • Jesus ○ 3:55 Oh Jesus, indeed I will "mutawaffī" and raise you to Myself ○ 5:117 And I was a witness over them as long as I was among them; but when You "tawaffā" me, You were the Observer over them. So apart from the verses of Jesus, tawaffā refers to actual death 22 times. Regarding tawaffā to mean "sleep", i believe, this usage is introduced by the Quran and was not normally used by arabs. And the 2 times it talks about sleep, it uses specifically the words "by night" or "while asleep". Without any mention of these contexts, by default it simply means that the soul is taken away permanently, which is what is understood from 3:55 and 5:117 if you LET THE QURAN SPEAK.
There is, indeed, a wide distance between a person who is "wrong" and a person who "holds a different belief". As a muslim I come here to listen to a person whose opinion I respect. However, the conclusions I draw are my own and between myself and Allah (swt). To this end, I study First Millenium History and follow what Allah has determined I should experience. I share this with my Brothers and Sisters to say that on the Day of Recompense we will not be judged by what we were told, but by what truthes we concluded for ourselves in our Hearts. Alhamduilah.
I an a follower of the late Imam WD Mohammad. He has been my only imam ive had since my conversion. His death was a major blow to me. I do not listen to a lot of people for my religion. Im loyal to the man who taught me to pray. Before Imam Mohammad i never prayed. I didn't know how. But I can say that Dr. Shabir is a man who not only understands Scripture Bible and Quran, he has also been blessed by Allah with great sensitivity. A rare quality these days. But a quality i look for. My trust, love, and respect for Dr. Shabir have grown considerably. I listen to him daily. I never thought this would happen. May Allah continue to bless him, give him peace on this earth as well his wonderful family, amin.
I think when Allah says in 3:55 "Innii mutawaffeeka wa raafi'uka ilayy", it probably means that Allah directly takes the soul of Jesus (tawaffā) and raises (rafa'a) the soul upto himself, instead of sending the Malak-ul-Mawt to do the job. Its a special intervention for his death, just like he had a special intervention for his birth. Wallaahu A'lam. Thats probably why when Jesus refers to his own death in 5:117, he uses "tawaffā", but does not use "rafa'a", since after his tawaffā, he wouldnt know what is happening to his soul. If "rafa'a" were literal bodily ascension, he would have also mentioned it as it would have been an extraordinary experience and a source of great honour. But as we can see, Jesus doesnt mention any of his ascending or descending experiences in Surah 5, and expresses complete lack of knowledge of what transpired after his tawaffā. He expresses ignorance about the deviation of his followers, which wouldnt be the case if he had returned to see his followers worshipping him. Wallaahu A'lam.

But that will never happen so the best I can hope for is to wish him and all of you blessings and peace! Salaam
This world will bend to Islam?? I wonder why religious people are obsessed with the world bending to their religion. A lot of death and suffering has been done in the name of religions in an attempt to make the world bend to it or spread it. According to the prophet Muhammad, Islam will be a strange religion and Quran will be forgotten. So this world will not bend to Islam according to your prophet
Great discussions as always, I think the only channel to describe the happenings and translations in such concise and informative ways that it gives hope and comfort to one's self
I thought Quran is a clear book and there is no ambiguity in it. The fact of the matter is that Jesus died on the cross for the atonement of our sins. This is the clear testimony of the Bible borne by historical fact that cannot be denied.
Wrong.. There are some ambiguous verses [3:7] He sent down to you this scripture, containing straightforward verses-which constitute the essence of the scripture-as well as multiple-meaning or allegorical verses. Those who harbor doubts in their hearts will pursue the multiple-meaning verses to create confusion, and to extricate a certain meaning.

There is no mention of the Quran that Jesus (pbuh) will come back. It has come from the Christian faith to Muslims. Watch Javed Ahmed Ghamidi’s comment on the issue.

I have read a book from an Indonesia scholar 40 years ago that said similar things. He applied the concept of " fitrah" to explain under normal circumstances God will allow things to flow according to "fitrah" , if human and prophets stayed on earth until they die the natural way, God will not intervene to bring human to stayed in heaven., this is against fitrah .
We need to only believe what Allah SWT has given to us as guidance in the Holy Quran. Surah Al-Ahzab verses 33-40 are so clear and so explicit that Muhammad PBUH is the last of the prophet; the 'seal' of the prophets. And yet we indulge ourselves in meaningless discussions creating confusion and controversies. May Allah give us guidance and wisdom to understand and follow the Quran.
Repent and believe the gospel-mark 1:15 In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe.-Hebrews 1:1-3 But what does the Scripture say? “Cast out the slave woman and her son, for the son(Ishmael) of the slave woman (Hagar)shall not inherit with the son of the free woman (Sarah).”
@@mayabouillon4313 You're brainwashed by antiislamist. Jesus isnt god I know many Christians are gonna angry on me for saying this, but I feel it's important to share some things that the church fathers might not have taught you. I understand how deeply you've been told all your life that Jesus is God and that simply believing this will save you. But when I think deeply about it, something feels off, like it doesn't quite make sense. Consider these verses that speak directly about the nature of God: Deuteronomy 6:4: “The Lord our God is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.” Deuteronomy 6:13-15 Fear the Lord your God, serve him only and take your oaths in his name. 14 Do not follow other gods, the gods of the peoples around you; 15 for the Lord your God is a jealous God and his anger will burn against you and he will destroy you from the face of the land. Explanation : He is a jealous God because He doesn’t want us to worship anyone or anything else but Him. God cannot be two, three, or more; He is one and unique, unlike anything or anyone. To think of God as more than one is to misunderstand His very nature. He has warned us time and again in the scriptures to worship Him alone, to keep our hearts pure and focused only on Him. God’s love is so deep that He desires us to know Him truly, without confusion, without adding partners or equals. Numbers 23:19-20, Hosea 11:9: God is not a human Malachi 3:6 God doesnt change Isaiah 45:5: God said, “I am the only God,” and you shall have “no God beside me or God like me.” Deuteronomy 13:1-4: God said that if someone tells you there is a God besides Him, don’t believe or listen to that person. My journey of research has led me to believe that Jesus was a beloved servant of God, sent to preach the words of God. It’s a realization that brings both clarity and sadness because it challenges what many have been taught for so long. My intention isn’t to disgrace someone belief, but to invite reflection on these teachings, to look closer, and to understand more deeply what God truly says about Himself. Bible actually support unitarianism instead of trinitariasm. If Jesus is god dont you think there would be an explicit verse which clear all things? like in which Jesus said i am god or worship me. You would not find it nor you will find any concept of trinity. verses of trinity like 1 john 5:7 and mathew 28:19 are forgeries doesnt exist in some manuscripts. The fact is that he himself has god Mark 12:29, john 20:17 to whome he used to pray not to himself in morning Mark 1:35, when evening came Mathew 14:23, at night Mark 14:33-39, at night Mathew 26:39, even whole night Luke 6:12, he prayed to be saved hebrew 5:7. his disciples likewise at about noon Peter prayed Acts 10:9 , at afternoon Peter and john Acts 3:1 Jesus fell with his face to the ground and prayed(Submitted himself to the creator), like Abraham prayed in genesis 17:3 like Moses and aoron prayed in numbers 16:22 and exodus 34:8, like joshua prayed (Joshua 5:14) like daniel prayed Daniel 6:10, like Ezra and the people prayed Nehemiah 8:6. like ezeikiel prayed Ezekiel 9:8. Jesus said it is written worship the LORD your God and serve him(God the father in context) only Mathew 4:10 he never said worship me, he taught others to worship God the Father who is unseen not himself Mathew 6:6-12 God the Father is only true god according to Jesus John 17:3 its really amazed me that the actual doctrine of christianity(trinity) not mentioned in bible not by concept nor by definition yet it was followed by majority. Even in the KNOWLEDGE he's not like god. MATHEW 24:36 "But concerning that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son,but the Father only also And seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, he came, if haply he might find any thing thereon: and when he came to it, he found nothing but leaves; for the time of figs was not yet. Mark 11:13 he didnt know the season. God is al-knowing 1 john 3:20
Honestly, Dr. Shabir's argument makes the easiest understanding that Jesus went unconscious and passed for dead - explaining the popular confusion that we think he died in the language. The interpretation of Jesus going to Heaven is a popular but wild assumption from the plain text.
" They thought they killed him but God raised him to Himself. " At any rate, his teaching is important: 1) he never ever claimed he is son of God, 2) he never ever claimed he is one of three, 3) he never ever claimed he is the king of Jews, and finally he proclaimed: unless you, people, will increase Justice more than the two main sects of Jews you never will go to Heaven. It is also noteworthy to mention that Jesus son of Mary, as all other prophets, were sent down by The Lord to encourage all people to strive to bring about a society in which there would be no opperssion, evil, poverty, and breakdown of man's character. May peace be upon all of them and may Lord Almighty guide us to the right path and TRUTH. Thank you and best regards.
Like when you say someone passed away it means he died not bypassed it...believers also say we "We all came from God and to Him we will return"...so take it easy "superman"...
Quran is a clear (Mubeen 12:1) Book, and we do not need any man-made book to superimpose on Quran. BUT just for the information of those people, who, instead of following Quran, follow their hadith books; it is mentioned in Bukhari that Ibn Abbas said: Meaning of word مُتَوَفِّيكَ (which appears ONLY in 3:55) is MOUT=DEATH. Same tradition is given by Abi Hatim
It's quite telling that the narrative of Jesus's passion in the quran might have had influence from gnostic non canonical christian texts circulating in ancient Arabia at the time.
Also I love how a book that's supposedly from God verbatim is sooo vague about the whole thing. So which is it did he die or not? What does it even mean "it was made to appear so"? Was that Jesus on the cross or not how was he not crucified but at the same time still on the cross? And don't tell me it was judas or someone else transfigured to look like Jesus on the cross cuz the moment you go there you will have to give credence to the gnostic gospels that say this that existed long before the quran. Why can't Allah just be clear and say it plain and clear
Verses 3:55, 5:117, 3:144 makes clear that Jesus has been died naturally. The meaning of "God Raised Jesus Unto Himself" is never to that God Raised Jesus to Heavens. And God never raises to Himself a body of dust but only Soul after the death of a person. Body of Dust will return to Dust 20:55
Death is the only meaning acceptable here. Allah has caused him to die at the age of 120 after completion of his mission after saving him from death on the cross and the Jews failed to kill him.
Confusing construction indeed, especially if the Quran is supposed to be clear. This is a clear contradiction present within the Quran. As he admits, two verbs "this is a puzzle." It's not though if you accept what is actually written. "Borrowed from Christian Tradition" What a great admittance. The Quran capitalizes on the ambiguity, WOW! Anti-Christ Spirit indeed.
Word WAFAT is used in over 20 verses for DEATH. Same word WAFAT is used for the death of LAST Prophet in 10:46, and the same word WAFAT is used for the Death of Jesus in 3:55, 5:117. So, there is no any sense logic and rationality to translate word WAFAT differently in verses 3:55, 5:117

Assalamolaikum. ALL..There is no doubt about the scholarship of Dr. Shabir Ally. BUT did Allah SWT not say in Holy Koran that He would raise us up on the Day of Judgement? Doesn't this mean that we were dead and were awaiting the Judgement, and then raised ? How is the Arabic different in these 2 instsnces? Could Jesus not have been given an early resurrection? How does it all align with the Holy Prophet in his night journey seeing Jesus in the 5th heaven? Some consistent explanation is needed. And how does one read the Holy Koran verse that says they thought they killed him but they killed him not? Could this not be read as ..they thought they killed the message that Jesus brought but they did not? And that message of Jesus will be preserved to a large extent in the gospels ? Further, How does one reconcile all of this in another Koranic verse which says that Jesus will be a sign of the last day? Could this not mean that Allah SWT would do the same for us as He did in the example of Jesus?
dr. loui al fatoui convinced enough that Jesus was never on the crepes never harmes at all by His enemies , otherwise the Quran would have been hard to understand.
Tawaffā without any mention of "night" or "sleep" simply means death, and thats the Quranic meaning of the word in all the other occurrences of the word. So how and when Jesus may have died if he was not put up on the cross at all? We can never know. But we have a clue. When Jews claimed in 4:157 that they have killed Jesus, Allah says that they didnt kill him, but (he/it) was made to appear so. Most interpreters seem to think that it was Allah who made this drama by substituting Jesus with another person, yet the verse does not say that it was Allah who did it. And it is unfair to say that Allah was the one who did it, when He himself rebukes the Christians for having followed conjecture. So somebody other than Allah did the substitution. The only options we have are the Jews who were involved in the case. So my theory is (if we were to work with the Synoptic-Gospel framework): • after the arrest of Jesus by the Jews, sometime during his interrogation by night, Jesus unexpectedly dies. • In order to avoid being accused of murdering the arrested Jesus, they planned to convert it into a punishment for blasphemy, • and thus they set up another similar looking Jew (Judas Iscariot?), got him flogged and disfigured his face, • presented to Pilate right away in the morning and got him crucified. • A Jewish Rabbi (Joseph of Arimethea) takes down his body and puts him in a tomb. • By night, the Jews take his body away and bury him in another place so that people dont get to look at his body later and wonder where Jesus was if the person crucified wasnt him. • and they also created the rumour that Judas Iscariot committed suicide as he was not seen anywhere. This theory also fits in well with other Gospelic events: • the unusual haste in presenting the accused to the Romans • Pilate's amazement on why the Jews wouldnt condemn him according to Jewish law • Pilate seeing a lack of evidence for condemning Jesus • using another person (Simon of Cyrene) to carry the cross to avoid crowd detection • lack of male disciple eye-witnesses at the scene • Mary who "witnessed from far away" probably doubted the person to be Jesus, and thus goes to the tomb early after sabbath. This theory also explains some Quranic verses more clearly: 3:54 And they plotted and Allah plotted and Allah is the best of Plotters 4:159 And there is none from the People of the Scripture but that he will surely believe in (he/it) before his death. And on the Day of Resurrection he will be against them a witness. (The arabic 'hu' here should be translated as 'it' referring to the crucifixion, which is the only thing that ALL THE JEWS & CHRISTIANS believe strongly before their death, and therefore Jesus would testify against them on the day of Resurrection).
Word SLEEP never applies to the death of Jesus. People sleep for 8 hours; not for 2000 years. Even Sunni Imam Ibn Hazm wrote in his Book MUHALLA that meaning of word WAFAT in 5:117 is DEATH=MOUTH, and he wrote: that verse 5:117 has to do nothing with sleep. Sheikh al-Islam Ibn Asur also wrote the same in his Tafsir

Doing morphosemantic researches and etymology, mutawaffiyk is from form V means a factitive mood and reflexive "to make that وفي on oneself", and the verb وفي it's to put and maintain something or someone far from something, then it could mean to have fulfill something, and the verbe رفع is very badly translated, this verb express the Jesus (as) is like a Star shining and sparkling far above, to be known. And not "into" Allah, but For Allah.
and for boasting, “We killed the Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary, the messenger of Allah.” But they neither killed nor crucified him-it was only made to appear so.1 Even those who argue for this ˹crucifixion˺ are in doubt. They have no knowledge whatsoever-only making assumptions. They certainly did not kill him.
And you got this from your Demon possessed prophet? Don’t you realize Jesus is a real person that had people living with him? May Hodge save you all from your blasphemy!
God is not the author of confusion. Jesus is the WORD of God made flesh, he lived a life without sin in perfect communion with God the Father. Born as a man from a virgin who was conceived by the Spirit of God. He died on the cross, taking the sins of the world upon himself as a sacrifice for our Salvation. He was Dead for 3 days, where he went to the underworld and made an open show of Satan. He rose from death because death could not hold him. Appeared to his disciples and over 500 people. And rose into heaven. But before he left, he promised to give his Holy Spirit . He told his disciples to wait in Jerusalem until they received baptism of the Holy Spirit of God. Jesus, the Father and Holy Spirit are ONE GOD. Salvation is only by praying for the forgiveness of sin through Jesus Christ and his sacrifice on the cross. Salvation is not of personal works, so nobody can pridefully boast.
@@MindSprout-k1w Is that the answer to my question? I firmly believe that Muhammad peace be upon him is the last and final messenger from Almighty Allah. Allah's Deen was completed over 1400 years ago. "Last Messenger" means last WARNING before the end of the day . No more messenger is coming from Almighty.. Next is ONLY QAYAMAT.
So Quran 3:55 is in contradiction with 21:98-99. In Quran 3:55 Allah says that he will raise Jesus to himself. But here’s the contradiction - in Quran 21:98-99 - the same Allah says that anyone who worships any other God besides Allah, he will burn them with the god that they worship, in hell. Now Christians Believe Jesus is the God and son of God… they worship Jesus…. According to the latter verse, Jesus will go to hell… now does he go to hell or he goes to Allah? Because Quran says both….. and here is the breakdown of 21:98-99 word-by-word breakdown and translation of Surah Al-Anbiya (21:98-99): إِنَّكُمْ وَمَا تَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ حَصَبُ جَهَنَّمَ أَنتُمْ لَهَا وَارِدُونَ 1. إِنَّكُمْ (innakum) - “Indeed you” 2. وَمَا (wa ma) - “and what” 3. تَعْبُدُونَ (ta`buduna) - “you worship” 4. مِن (min) - “besides” 5. دُونِ (duni) - “other than” 6. اللَّهِ (Allah) - “Allah” 7. حَصَبُ (hasabu) - “fuel” 8. جَهَنَّمَ (jahannama) - “of Hell” 9. أَنتُمْ (antum) - “you” 10. لَهَا (la-ha) - “for it” 11. وَارِدُونَ (wariduna) - “will be its fuel” Translation: “Indeed, you and what you worship besides Allah are the fuel of Hell. You will be its fuel.”
There is no contradiction if one want to understand and consult appropriate sources. I think Javed Ghamidi has done extensive research on this topic and presented in great detail in his 23 Objections series; worth listening
It is better to ask to be taught rather than making a bold claim of contradiction about something you dont know. If you had read the next verse; Qur'an 21: 101, you wouldn't have made such a claim. Qur'an 21: 101 says: " Verily, about those for whom the good (record) has gone before US, (they) will be moved far from there (Hell)." Allah put this verse to clear any contradiction that the likes of you might assume but unfortunately you didn't read. The verse means that righteous people like Prophet Isa (Jesus) whom Allah has already said good about them that He will take them to Jannah, will not be part of the false deities that will be put in Hell alongside their worshippers. This is because Isa(Jesus) did not tell his followers to worship him during his time on earth. The idea of worshipping him came long after him. Please, next time ask scholars of the Qur'an on something you have no knowledge of before coming out in public to make wild claims.
@ScarGalley Surah Al-Anbiya (21:98-99): This verse clearly states that those who worship anyone other than Allah, and the objects of their worship, will face eternal punishment in Hell. The verse emphasizes that worshipping false deities results in being “fuel of Hell,” and this includes both the worshippers and what they worship. Surah An-Nisa (4:158): This verse asserts that Allah raised Jesus to Himself, implying that Jesus is not subject to the punishment described in the previous verse. The verse focuses on Jesus being taken up to Allah, indicating an exemption from Hell. Surah Al-Anbiya (21:98-99) establishes a clear principle: anyone who is worshipped as a deity, and their worshippers, will face Hell. According to this verse, if someone is considered divine by their followers, they are included in this condemnation. In this context, Christians worship Jesus as God or the Son of God, so logically, both Jesus and his worshippers should be punished in Hell according to this verse. Surah An-Nisa (4:158) contradicts this principle by stating that Jesus was raised to Allah, thereby exempting him from the fate of Hell. This implies that Jesus is not subjected to the punishment described for those worshipped as deities. First Verse (21:98-99): Jesus, as an object of worship for Christians, should be punished in Hell according to this verse. Second Verse (4:158): Jesus is taken to Allah, which implies that he is not subject to Hellfire. The contradiction is clear: Surah An-Nisa (4:158) provides an exemption for Jesus, while Surah Al-Anbiya (21:98-99) mandates that all deities and their worshippers face eternal punishment. If Jesus is indeed taken up to Allah, then according to the first verse, he should be in Hell with his worshippers. The exemption suggested in the second verse creates a logical inconsistency with the consequences outlined in the first verse.
Wfka as per sultanbin translation of the Quran not a single time refers death. So all the Conventional Quran translationsare wrong. The correction translation is: Quran 3:55: [Mention] when Allah said, "O Jesus, indeed I will recall you [from all your past] and raise you to Myself [as you are] and clear, purge you from those who disbelieved. And I [thereby by shunning you from crucifixtion] will make those who follow you superior to those who disbelieve till the Day of Resurrection. Then to Me is [now] your [living body, prophethood, portion of the Scripture, mission, biographical data: language, lineage, last but not least photo ID] return, and I will establish between your [followers and foes] this [unlearning process of yours] wherein you all were differing [to sort out its know-how]. It seems the good Dr Shabir himself has misunderstood the Qur'aan verses about Jesus[pbuh]!! The idea of using the Gospels as some sort of 'tafsir' of the Qur'aan is a joke. The Christian salvation story of Jesus[pbuh] dying on the cross being flipped to mean somehow Jesus must have appeared to look like he was dead is ridiculous. Shame on Dr Shabir on equating belief on the return of Jesus as some sort of Sunni aqeeda. Has he forgotten that the Hadith of Gabriel narrated by Umar Ibn Al Khattab does not even mention Jesus ? Has he forgotten surah 5:117, where Jesus actually denies ever returning to Earth after the event 'muttawafik' ? Has he forgotten the verb 'rafa' is also used with the Prophet Idris[pbuh] ? are we awaiting the return of Idris ? All these end of time stories in hadith claim somehow the people of the book [ahle kitab] will believe in Jesus as a prophet, yet the Qur'aan tells us that God has set enmity and hatred between the ahle kitab until up to the day of judgment as a punishment for not believing in the true teachings of Jesus.

So we know from the Quran that Jesus pbuh did not die on the Cross. Buy that doesn't mean that he never died! The Quran talks about Jesus and his Mother travelling to a safe place amongst mountains and rivers. Now the verse referring to Jesus " Being raised," the Arabic word Raffa means Raised in Honour! It is not referring to a physical raising. Nearly all of the earlier translators of the Quran have been influenced by the Christian narrative!! We have been duped into false belief. The awaiting of the return of Jesus is also a ridiculous notion!!! He will only return on Judgement Day and this is according to the Quran itself and not hokusai pokus hadith!!!
Jewish christian, the ebionite’s gospel. It says After the people were baptized, Jesus also came and was baptized by John; and as he came up from the water, the heavens were opened, and he saw the Holy Ghost in the likeness of a dove that descended and entered into him: and a voice from heaven saying: Thou art my beloved Son, in thee I am well pleased: and again: This day have I begotten thee. And on this account they say that Jesus was begotten of the seed of a man, and was chosen; and so by the choice of God he was called the Son of God from the Christ that came into him from above in the likeness of a dove. And they deny that he was begotten of God the Father, but say that he was created as one of the archangels, yet greater, and that he is Lord of the angels and of all things made by the Almighty Adoptionism is correct . Archangel Michael entered the human Jesus at the time of his baptism. He was taken up to heaven before the crucifixion
"Allah" saved Isa Al - Masih (Pbuh) from the cross. His body was crucified but his soul ascended to Heaven. Yeshua came back down to see Mary Magdalene. She was the one and only love of his life. Did Mary want forgiveness? No! Did Mary want salvation? No! She told God in her prayers she wasn't even worthy of his love and deserved to burn in hell. Mary Magdalene was the best Christian ever by a landslide. The second you feel "entitled" to something from God, your entire soul will be poisoned. We are not even entitled to the "Breath Of Life." Regardless of what you do in this world, you will never be entitled to this breath. When you can understand this, you can evolve through God.
For, of a certainty, they did not slay him: [4:157] Remember how the companions of the cave are put to sleep. God does whatever He wills. The Story of Jesus in the Quran Let’s look at the Quran chapter 4:156-159 156. And because of their disbelief and what they said to Maryam is a great accusation. 157. And their words that we have killed the Messiah Jesus, son of Mary, the Messenger of Allah. And they did not kill him nor crucify him, but it was appeared to them. And indeed those who dispute about it are in doubt about it. It is not for them to have any knowledge of this, except to follow conjecture. And didn't kill him for sure. 158. But Allah raised Jesus to Himself. And Allah is the Supreme Judge. 159. And none of the People of the Book (Jews) except will believe in Jesus before his (Jesus) death (maut, not wafat). And in the afterlife, Jesus will be witness to them. From verse 156 - 158 we have understood the meaning. But the verse 159, I think it’s about the second coming of Jesus near the end of time. That in the second coming of Jesus, the Jews will believe in him as being their messiah. And will believe in Jesus about a prophet after him Muhammad. Am I correct? Sometimes I think all the hadith related to the second coming of Jesus, came out from this 159 verse. When prophet Muhammad pbuh explained about this verse. But walLaahu a'lam.

Therefore we need to look back how the Prophet SAW understand this verses and the Sahaba. And this Vers was very clear that according to their understanding Jesus AS has died. That Statement is in Bukhari - Kitab ul Tafseer where Ibn Abbas RH said that this word Mutawaffika means Mumituk (I cause you to die). This makes it very clear. And The Word Tawaffa in 5:117 for Jesus AS Tawaffa is used for Prophet SAW himself. Where Nabi SAW is in the same situation and said my Tawaffa is the same Tawaffa as Jesus AS. And according to the Tafsir of the prophet SAW Jesus AS is death.

Its a shame that you name your channel as 'Let the Quran speak' and then wont let it speak. Its amazing how Dr. Shabbir, otherwise a quran-centric muslim and a rationalist, seems to use unnecessarily complicated explanations to insist that Jesus is coming back. The only reason i can think of is that Dr. Shabbir feels that this doctrine is very useful in giving da'wah to christians, and had probably used it multiple times in his life to win converts. To state the contrary now would be such a predicament, so he insists on holding onto this cognitive dissonance, at least in the public sphere. (Apologies if im wrong but i can think of no other reason why u would hold onto this inconsequential doctrine). Take it from me doctor! I was a Christian who embraced Islam, and was delighted to learn that Jesus was 'still' coming back, renamed myself as 'Isa' and adhered strongly to the traditional sunni doctrines (shafi-hanbali). After more than a decade of exploring, i have become a quran-centric muslim (to interpret hadith in light of the Quran rather than vice-versa, and to expect to have major issues to have a basis in the Quran), learnt that Jesus' ascension & descension has simply no basis in the Quran (and neither does a literal isra & mi'raaj), and thus left this doctrine. And in all honesty, it was actually liberating to learn this, as i no longer have to look upto the sky and wonder when he's gonna come back. Later i learnt that the ascension of Jesus actually seems to have only a weak basis in the Gospels. • Matthew ends the Gospel with a final speech, and no eye witness account of his ascension is mentioned. • John ends the Gospel with no eye witness account of his ascension. • Mark's actual ending has no mention of his resurrection or ascension. • Luke's ending has a mention of "he withdrew and ascended", and NRSVue has a footnote stating 'other ancient authorities lack 'ascended'''. Only in Acts do we find a graphic description of Jesus' ascension. It was supposedly written by Luke, yet Luke doesnt mention it in his Gospel!! - exactly where he ought to have mentioned it. And considering that Luke states in his Gospel that Jesus lived a day after his resurrection and Acts states that he lived about 40 days, its hard to conclude that its one and the same author. And same with Dajjal!! No basis in the Quran or Gospels. Hadith texts about it are too contradictory and seems to be an exaggerated version of 2 Thessalonians 2. So just let it go!!
The previous scriptures contained the words and life stories of the prophets: Abraham, Moses, David, and Jesus. The Quran doesn't add anything to any of their stories and doesn't even supply the story of Muhammad! It is laughable to try to decipher Jesus' life based on commentaries written about commentaries written about the Quran commentary, when the original Gospel is written easy enough for a child to understand!
Islam claims allah is God, and God is allah. The god of islam is allah al ilahi was a moon god, the sword god, the war god of ancient mecca and medina, one of 360 pagan gods. When mohd decided to create his new religion, islam, he abolish 359 other pagan gods, and crown allah al ilahi as the one and only god. What made him do it? Firstly mohd was an illiterate camel caravan driver who married his first wife, hadija, who was the owner of the camels. So now he became the owner of the camels and very prominent in mecca. As a camel caravan driver came into contact with his customers who were primarily jewish and Christian merchants. Mohd heard Christians and jews preaching their monotheistic system which was superior to the outdated pagan system of mecca and decided, the jews and Christians were right. God is a monotheistic God.
Muhammad is not the father of any of your men, but (he is) the Messenger of Allah, and the Seal of the Prophets: and Allah has full knowledge of all things.Note Essa AS was Prophet He Came to Bani Israel and They Rejected Him and ALLAH swt gave him Death and Punished Jew by sending Romans to Jerusalem . Gona get a lot of triggered christians with this one ! all trying to persuade us that Isa PBUH ( jesus ) is a man-god who died for our sins. Would love a follow from Dr Shabir as the quran is very ambiguous about the return of Isa, it does not say that he will be returning, but we get a lot of hadith that make this claim, do we take these hadith literally or symbolically, not mentioning anything like this in the quran is such a huge omission that makes no sense unless he is not meant to be coming back

○ 7:37 until when Our messengers come to them to take them in death (yatawaffawn)
○ 8:50 And if you could but see when the angels take the souls (yatawaffā)
○ 47:27 when the angels take them in death (tawaffa)
○ 10:46/13:40/40:77 And whether We show you some of what We promise them, or We take u in death (natawaffa)
○ 10:104 I worship Allah, who causes your death (yatawaffā)
○ 16:70 Allah created you; then He will take you in death (yatawaffā)
○ 22:5 among you is he who is taken in [early] death (yutawaffa), and among you is he who is returned to the most decrepit [old] age.
○ 40:67 among you is he who is taken in death (yutawaffā) before [becoming old]
• Sleep (only Nafs, not Rūḥ)
○ 39:42 Allah takes (yatawaffā) the Nafs at the time of its death, and those that do not die during its sleep (manāmi-hā).
• Jesus
○ 3:55 Oh Jesus, indeed I will "mutawaffī" and raise you to Myself
○ 5:117 And I was a witness over them as long as I was among them; but when You "tawaffā" me, You were the Observer over them.

Quran's comment on The belief that Jesus is going to come again before the QAYAMAT . Or in other words The Hour Is Not going to come before Jesus..
"Those who do not believe in it are impatient for it, but those who believe are fearful of it and know that it is the truth. Unquestionably, those who DISPUTE concerning the Hour are in EXTREME ERROR".
(Surah 42, Aayat 18)
Beautiful and Appropriate way of explaining
When God said to Jesus I am going to make you die, he meant Jesus is not going to be killed.
There is no mention of the Quran that Jesus (pbuh) will come back. It has come from the Christian faith to Muslims. Watch Javed Ahmed Ghamidi’s comment on the issue.
There are implicit evidences in Quran watch Nouman Ali Khan's lectures on Isa(AS).
It isn't a matter of argument. As quran speaks, kullu nafsin dzaiqotul maut, meaning "Every soul shall taste death". Maybe he will come in future and die as muslim.

We need to only believe what Allah SWT has given to us as guidance in the Holy Quran. @@mayabouillon4313 You're brainwashed by antiislamist. Jesus isnt god
I know many Christians are gonna angry on me for saying this, but I feel it's important to share some things that the church fathers might not have taught you. I understand how deeply you've been told all your life that Jesus is God and that simply believing this will save you. But when I think deeply about it, something feels off, like it doesn't quite make sense.
Consider these verses that speak directly about the nature of God:
Deuteronomy 6:4: “The Lord our God is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.”
Deuteronomy 6:13-15 Fear the Lord your God, serve him only and take your oaths in his name.
Numbers 23:19-20, Hosea 11:9: God is not a human
Malachi 3:6 God doesnt change
Isaiah 45:5: God said, “I am the only God,” and you shall have “no God beside me or God like me.”
Deuteronomy 13:1-4: God said that if someone tells you there is a God besides Him, don’t believe or listen to that person.
Did Jesus done miracles on his own? no its God who did through him. Acts 2:22 ,JOhn 5:30 , 8:28 , Luke 11:20 ,mathew 12:28 Proof that he is Prophet and messenger of God verses john 8:40 ,Mark 6:4(refering himself as prophet)also Mark 1:38, John 17:8, 7:28, 13:16(refering himself as messenger of God)
People who called him prophet John 4:19, 9:17 , Luke 24:19 , mathew21:11(whole crowd called him) yet he didnt rebuked them for saying. how many people called him god in bible? The fact is that he himself has god Mark 12:29, john 20:17 to whome he used to pray not to himself in morning Mark 1:35, when evening came Mathew 14:23, at night Mark 14:33-39, at night Mathew 26:39, even whole night Luke 6:12, he prayed to be saved hebrew 5:7. his disciples likewise at about noon Peter prayed Acts 10:9 , at afternoon Peter and john Acts 3:1
Jesus fell with his face to the ground and prayed(Submitted himself to the creator),
like Abraham prayed in genesis 17:3 like Moses and aoron prayed in numbers 16:22 and exodus 34:8, like joshua prayed (Joshua 5:14) like daniel prayed Daniel 6:10, like Ezra and the people prayed Nehemiah 8:6. like ezeikiel prayed Ezekiel 9:8.
MATHEW 24:36 "But concerning that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son,but the Father only
also And seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, he came, if haply he might find any thing thereon: and when he came to it, he found nothing but leaves; for the time of figs was not yet.

At any rate, his teaching is important: 1) he never ever claimed
he is son of God, 2) he never ever claimed he is one of three,
3) he never ever claimed he is the king of Jews, and finally
he proclaimed: unless you, people, will increase Justice more
than the two main sects of Jews you never will go to Heaven.
It is also noteworthy to mention that Jesus son of Mary, as
all other prophets, were sent down by The Lord to encourage
all people to strive to bring about a society in which there
would be no opperssion, evil, poverty, and breakdown of
man's character. May peace be upon all of them and may
Lord Almighty guide us to the right path and TRUTH.

Many thanks for this good explanation. Logically it will make more sense that God caused Jesus to die and took his soul and raised it onto himself.

So my theory is (if we were to work with the Synoptic-Gospel framework):
• after the arrest of Jesus by the Jews, sometime during his interrogation by night, Jesus unexpectedly dies.
• In order to avoid being accused of murdering the arrested Jesus, they planned to convert it into a punishment for blasphemy,
• and thus they set up another similar looking Jew (Judas Iscariot?), got him flogged and disfigured his face,
• presented to Pilate right away in the morning and got him crucified.
This theory also fits in well with other Gospelic events:
• the unusual haste in presenting the accused to the Romans
• Pilate's amazement on why the Jews wouldnt condemn him according to Jewish law
• Pilate seeing a lack of evidence for condemning Jesus
• using another person (Simon of Cyrene) to carry the cross to avoid crowd detection
• lack of male disciple eye-witnesses at the scene
• Mary who "witnessed from far away" probably doubted the person to be Jesus, and thus goes to the tomb early after sabbath.
This theory also explains some Quranic verses more clearly:
3:54 And they plotted and Allah plotted and Allah is the best of Plotters
4:159 And there is none from the People of the Scripture but that he will surely believe in (he/it) before his death.

I'm worried about the hour. Not Jesus coming
The Prophet of Allah is the one who told us, do you have a problem with that?
Isa is dead and will never come back. Quran has made it clear, but people tamper translation of Quran in order to support their unsound beliefs
Because Quran says both….. and here is the breakdown of 21:98-99
word-by-word breakdown and translation of Surah Al-Anbiya (21:98-99):
إِنَّكُمْ وَمَا تَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ حَصَبُ جَهَنَّمَ أَنتُمْ لَهَا وَارِدُونَ
1. إِنَّكُمْ (innakum) - “Indeed you”
2. وَمَا (wa ma) - “and what”
3. تَعْبُدُونَ (ta`buduna) - “you worship”
4. مِن (min) - “besides”
5. دُونِ (duni) - “other than”
6. اللَّهِ (Allah) - “Allah”
7. حَصَبُ (hasabu) - “fuel”
8. جَهَنَّمَ (jahannama) - “of Hell”
9. أَنتُمْ (antum) - “you”
10. لَهَا (la-ha) - “for it”
11. وَارِدُونَ (wariduna) - “will be its fuel”
Translation:
“Indeed, you and what you worship besides Allah are the fuel of Hell.
Qur'an 21: 101 says: " Verily, about those for whom the good (record) has gone before US, (they) will be moved far from there (Hell)."
Allah put this verse to clear any contradiction that the likes of you might assume but unfortunately you didn't read.
@ScarGalley
Surah Al-Anbiya (21:98-99): This verse clearly states that those who worship anyone other than Allah, and the objects of their worship, will face eternal punishment in Hell.

I never considered Shabbir a Scholar. *He is either highly biased or is very poor in Knowledge*
then why did ibn abbas ra use judeo christian sources? If you dont have knowledge then stay silent

Majority do not know that a PhD does not make a Person a Truthful Scholar. A Man wrote thesis on one oldi Igno Mullah Suyuti and gets PhD. Did that fake thesis made him a Truthful Scholar? No. For to be a Truthful Scholar; a person needs *an honest unbiased brain with decades long study in Comparative Religion and history.*
I have been watching Videos of Shabir for decades. I am an Honest, Unbiased person who do not have any personal grudge with any human. It clearly appears to me that either Shabir's knowledge is VERY POOR or he is highly Biased Person, mean: not honest
Sir Quran furthermore mentions that another person ( most propably Yahuda, The cheater) after resuming the face of Jesus (PBUH) by the will of God.
The Quran doesn't say that.
@@hassanabdur-rahman1559 Quran definitely Says that Crucified but not Jesus, it was another person that they thought as of him. Allah made them confused. Remember, This is the crux not exact meaning.
@@faisaljunaid5826 Where in the Quran does it say that another person was crucified?
@@starsian U haven't heard the famous ayat, last words I remember are "Walakin Shubiha Lahu" . I seek forgiveness from Allah for any error.
@@faisaljunaid5826 "Wa lakin shubbiha lahum" means "it was made to appear so unto them" (4:157). I'm still wondering where it says another person was crucified.
It says
After the people were baptized, Jesus also came and was baptized by John; and as he came up from the water,
the heavens were opened, and he saw the Holy Ghost in the likeness of a dove that descended and entered into
him: and a voice from heaven saying: Thou art my beloved Son, in thee I am well pleased: and again: This day have I begotten thee.
And on this account they say that Jesus was begotten of the seed of a man, and was chosen; and so by the choice
of God he was called the Son of God from the Christ that came into him from above in the likeness of a dove. And they
deny that he was begotten of God the Father, but say that he was created as one of the archangels, yet greater, and that he is Lord of the angels and of all things made by the Almighty
Adoptionism is correct .
And [as We exalted Moses, so, too,] We made the son of Mary and his mother a symbol [of Our grace], and provided for both an abode in a lofty place of lasting restfulness and unsullied springs. [23:50]
But where in the Quran did Allah Say " categorically" that he is going to come again ? It's not a Small news.

The story of Companions of Cave has nothing to do with the Clear death of Jesus which is mentioned in 5:117, 3:55, 3:144. Do not support fables by misusing Quranic verses
The Story of Jesus in the Quran
Let’s look at the Quran chapter 4:156-159
In order to understand Jesus death (sacrifice) (the sinless lamb of God), you must understand the old testament, laws, and psalms, prophets thoroughly. What you here say is total folly !!!!????
Sura Al-Baqarra 2:26 . Then I would invite you to read Sura Al Zumar 39:18 . Then Sura Al-Saad38:29 .
Now take all the ayat that refer to the subject your discussing (not just the few you referenced) . Okay . Now read Sura Al-Zummar 39:42 )which you did mention but you cut the ayat in half I don’t believe you entered into the discussion the end of that ayat .” Indeed in THAT are SIGNS for a people that give thought . Allah (swt) knows best . But I’m expecting Issa (as) to return . Every soul must taste death . Allah (swt) will counsel me on that day about where I differed . May Allah (swt) guide us .
Quran 3.55 Surah Al Imran
when Allāh said, "O Jesus, indeed I will take you and raise you to Myself and purify [i.e., free] you from those who disbelieve and make those who follow you [in submission to Allāh alone] superior to those who disbelieve until the Day of Resurrection. Then to Me is your return, and I will judge between you concerning that in which you used to differ.
Allah raised Prophet Isa pbuh to the heavens he's not dead, as he will come back as one of the final major signs of the day of judgement.
@@Bilal019 Bro. Isa AS is clear dead. Its an big misunderstanding of the verses of the quran. Imam Ar-Razi interpreted 3:55 that Allah took is sould and then raised him on rank. Ibn Taimiyya said that Isa AS is dead. Imam Maliqs Tafisr on 3:55 is taht Isa AS died with the age of 33. Ibn Qaiyyim said, there is no ecvidence from the Hadith that Isa AS got raised physically. And the biggest scholar the Sahaba Ibn Abbas RA said this word Mutawaffika in 3:55 means dead. And 3:144 said that all prophets before Nabi SAW have passed away Isa AS included. This is an conecensus of the Sahaba, actually the first concencus of the sahaba.
@@toofan1028 bro it's a belief for us Muslims that he is not dead. Brother I fear you have misunderstood, only the Christians and Jews believe he is dead. Christians believe he died for their sins also believing he was god na aoothobillah and the spirit, and Jews believe they killed him like they killed countless other prophets.
He is the messiah of the end times, he will come back to earth. You saying hes dead is really a strange place to put yourself as a Muslim.
I'm not coming from a place of arrogance but ask your local imam or someone of knowledge, Shaytan tends to sometimes make us misinterpret small words to put wrong beliefs into our minds.
@@Bilal019 brother. Thats fine. But you will see in the next years. The narrative will be change. Slowly slowly this belive that isa as is still alive will be changed. If you know how Allah defined tawaffa in sura al sumar you will see that tawaffa means taking the soul by death or sleep. But in both cases the body remain. Only the soul is taken.
That verse show that Allah got himself a companion and a partner...nice done muslims...i thought Allah dont have partners or companions..😂😂😂

After trying to reason out so many things i personally think islam is a false religion
So the quran acknowledge that God raise Jesus to himself and still refuse to see Jesus as God or son of God
It doesn't imply that raising someone to higher status will become Gods son
Quranic RAISE is *spiritual exaltation;* not the raise of Body of Dust of Jesus to God
