My friends and workmates think I am crazy for maintaining a detailed financial spreadsheet. However, it is something that I really enjoy and as a result I have absolutely no debt. And possess no credit cards of any kind. And my savings are on point. Owning your home and vehicle outright was a great decision. Fantastic budget video!!!

It's nice to retire in the Philippines, especially in the province because the cost of living is cheaper as compared to say, North America. Medical services are on par with Western Countries. Doctors and Nurses are competent, compassionate, and caring. Your foreign currency would go a long way. If you build a house, you can produce your organic fruits and vegetables, and even livestock.

I don't think that the medical standards are the best. I have had experience with our fist son. He was in private hospital in irmoc for about a week in critical condition and it cost me 4000 canadian to get him out of that hospital and to the training hospital in tacloban. He lived seven days there and I got to be with him in the end hard to watch so many baby's die. But I do agree the nurses and the doctors in the training hospital did all they could for him. They butcherd him in ormoc. I know I have a angel.

I thought that I/we would eat more local foods when we settled here. We still eat a lot of local fish, and do eat lots of fruit and vegetables. Because cooking and baking is a hobby of mine, I tend to spend more on imported ingredients for my dishes. It makes for more variety in our diet, but as you say food costs have surely gone up in the past couple of years. Owning your own house does help to cut down on monthly rental costs, but that is not for everyone's lifestyle.

Since my house is by the beach I can go fishing everyday. I will also raise some chicken for my organic garden and my protein source. My lifestyle will change but to a better and healthier one. I love reading all the comments here because it gives me ideas on how to start a life in the province. I’m happy for this couple, they were able to turn their dreams to reality. @alexmcwhirter6611 2 ปีที่แล้ว

Indeed, A real eye opener compared to the UK where the cost of living is rising at an even faster pace. In fairness to the UK we poor taxpayers have to fund the NHS and that costs £136 billion a year. And then there's social care costs, education, higher standards in all walks of life, subsidising public transport etc. Look at UK rail. Since the start of the pandemic our govt has paid £17 billion, according to rail author Christian Wolmar, to keep the network in operation.

Planning and budgeting is really important..
Well, for most Filipinos, if they (know) have a little bit more, they tend to relax, overlook small things until it accumulated and become big..
Stick with your set plan and budget.. separate the ones for investments/business purposes (you should somehow do it, having passive and active income will help you maintain your lifestyle and maybe level it up for quite some time, just be patient)
Overspending can be managed as long as you know or you can track where it went, through it you'll know what to avoid next, and it might be good to punish yourself a little, like since you overspend, think of it as your debt and you're paying it until everything is balanced again for the next coming months..
Being generous is good, but not everytime.. always be wise..👍

Never mind the cost just enjoy life,i think living in the province is less expensive specially if you have plants for consumption unlike in the city almost everything cost you a lot.but of curse you have to pay your property tax annually, electric and water supply, foods and Isabella's tuition.you can build tank for rain water so it can be use for watering the garden, for cleaning your kubo.

The water situation can be an issue for us foreigners that are unfamiliar with the bacteria and microorganisms that the water contains, so a good filter system is a very sound investment indeed. We tend to boil our drinking water and just let it cool in the fridge, so it seems we are always boiling water. ;-) But it saves us a lot of trips to the shop to get water, so we have decided to continue with boiling it.

Putting that total number of 33,403 PHP into USA dollars assuming a 52 pesos exchange rate comes up to $642.36 per mo. Very reasonable in the province, but in the City like Manila or Cebu that would definitely be higher. We will live in Cebu and we currently have a budget of $1200 per month on rent alone till our house is done. Not sure if that will cut it or not but will see. (Smart) is making it simpler and easier for Filipinos to shift their daily activities online powered by the country's fastest mobile data network as it launches the Smart Magic SIM, a limited-edition prepaid SIM that comes with 24 GB no-expiry open access data for only Php399.
Hey Adam. This is what i use for DATA 399 peso for 24G that never expires. Save you a little money on your phone cost. Me and my wife are in Baybay.

Hi Adam, I do not know how you can survive the weather in the Philippines without air-conditioning. I tried using an electric fan only to save on our electricity bills but with the heat and humidity especially during summer I could not bear it. We live in the province too.

It’s very easy my friend where we are. Being elevated we are safe from floods and have a great air flow. It’s actually cool in the evenings. Sometimes we don’t even open windows or turn on fans 😊

Everything is very cheap but Electricity is very expensive, we also have a big vacation house in the Philippines and 11 of us came to visit our Electric bill was $1300.00 dollars in the states I have washer dryer refrigerator dishwasher hot water and my Electric bill is $300.00 but I do love it there because I can have servants.my husband and I are both retired but we might visit now and then but he does not want to live there because our grandchildren are here. our house in the states is free and clear with our retirement I know we can retire in the Philippines very comfortably

Mortgage alone here will eat alive $2K plus insurance $200, car loan $500 plus insurance $100, utilities $500. It’s not practical living here in west. They call the people who migrated here the modern day slavery, why because you don’t save any money not even a penny. That’s why most Filipinos around the world had a triple jobs but the problem here is the government will tax you more if you have more income per annual because they limit your income with a certain bracket to be tax and if go overboard on your income they will tax you higher.
Great decision for your family that you moved to a beautiful country like Philippines with £500 budget per month.

I think bet😂ter invest on solar and your own water source bury. some pipes on the ground separated from general supply that will help you with the water lastly you have to have source of income the likely candidate is rental properties at least you just collect the the rent living in the Phil its not easy but manageable invest in Phil health and apply for sss anything that can give income in the future. do not terminate your vlog it gives income if your expecting pensions from UK that's good like what I said you have to have pension in Phil apply for. sss voluntary contribution and Phil health
