My favourite car, i have the Diesel version, excellent wagon. I see them all the time with over 500,000kms. They have the same engine as the Hilux and Hiace and four runners.
@@KyleLiongCars I havent driven the V6 version, but my diesel can be pretty fast. I used to own the 120 series Prado with a 4.0L V6, also very nice. They are very easy to drive, i find Diesels a bit easier to control too. Yours is very tidy looking, considering its 23 years old. Mine was filthy and very bare when i bought it, but after a lot of work and cleaning inside, it looks pretty good.
Hahaha probably only looks tidy from a couple of feet away 😂😂 I am really considering having mine repainted back to the original Toyota green color just to make it look stock again :)) We have the FJ Cruiser (got a vid on it too) which uses the 4.0L V6 as in the 120 Prado and it really is pretty smooth. Despite the displacement increase, it’s also more economical being more advanced and newer

I have the 3.4 version in Australia they are very tough cars and are very off road capable and will run 1million kilometers on same engine if looked after.

This still tops my list so far though, patrol as close second because it still looks badass, i just worry the ride is not as comfortable as the prado (the way you described it). It's hard to find such thorough reviews of the J90 Prado, Salamat! I'm not sure if the price you paid is in-line with other models in this condition, but I'm curious to know how much the maintenance and repair cost though.
Thanks! The price is about right for its condition but the repairs were pretty expensive. Overall though the car is cheap to maintain. It just so happened that the repairs it required were pretty major
@@KyleLiongCars So I bought a 2001 3.4 model with 218,000 kms and a month later the reverse has a delay in engagement, as if it's stuck in Neutral, until I try again. Have you experienced something similar because the transmission is supposed to be bullet proof?
Happened to mine too but not for reverse. First thing you gotta check is tranny fluid. It does that if it’s low on fluid. Second, your gearbox might be shot just like mine. I needed to have a full rebuild

Yes I think so. It’s a good car overall. We recently just sold ours though because we already have too much cars, but if not, it’s really great to keep too

I regret not getting the diesel one of this, but also don’t mind the extra fuel consumption in exchange for smoother power delivery
