    Got to drive one of these old Prados a while back when I traveled to Peru. Fun car, lucky those Canucks can get them now! Same with the Y61 Patrol!

    Man, it's SOOO much easier to get a drivers licence in the states and canada... because you can just use an automatic car in the test, it's LITERALLY just like steering, and pressing stop and go with your feet.. its insane!. Here in Ireland, you have to drive ALMOST perfectly, you have that 5 speed gearbox in manual 95% of the time, meaning they will actually give you negative points for not shifting at the correct times, not being in the correct gear ANYWHERE (like staying in 3rd on a fair tame bend when going onto a roundabout on the outside instead of slowing down as you approach, dropping into second and then going that way.
    We also have to to alot of STEEP hill stops and starts.
    We also have to do a ridiculous thing where, again, in a manual, you have to be able to literally reverse around a blind corner (it's a safe one with no traffic) with JUST your 3 mirrors.
    Then, you also have to complete 3 quite tight parallel parking sequences, and finally, you have to be able to identify 6 things under the hood, different oil bottles, fluids etc.
    Thats why there are literally almost NO drivers of 18 years old or younger in ireland. Also, because to get a 16 - 18 year old person insured on a little 1 litre hatchback car, it costs approx 3,000 euros (nearly 4k dollars).
    How different is that to Canada or Japan?

      I've owned a car since I was 17 insurance was $550 for basic and I paid about double that for an old crown vic 302 v8 big sedan. Licence was very easy written multiple choice and a quick drive around the block and park it between the lines.

    I'd like it if more people in Japan just cut and polished their cars rather than attempted to re-clearcoat. It's pretty typical I'll get a car where they didn't do proper prep work and the clearcoat simply flakes off. Then you have to deal with that which is far more difficult than the simple polishing that would have brought it back before.

    "steering feels good" as you yank the steering wheel without the car being in motion and the RPMs high to boost the power steering. Holy shit. The amount of sheer force on the rack and tie rod ends and joints. Totally moronic

    • @gaborkrammer
      @gaborkrammer 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If the pump is good, the power assist is the same at idle/higher RPMs. I have one with the newer diesel, 392k kms, very light steering even at idle. I agree with the rest, right now have to change the rack bushings, probably bc of the standstill steering lock to lock.
