I like that Luke, who’s the main face of street fighter 6, lost against Ryu. Shows that Luke still has a long road ahead of him similar to Alex. While Ryu has become a Master who finally reach the pinnacle of his martial arts and over come the darkness from within.
He is basically Alex to me. I like Alex more cause he was a grappler with Street moves. Luke is sick too but I believe Alex legit was the natural progression even if fans hated him
And as always like every arcade mode with Ryu, he comes to fight and leaves to continue his training walking towards the sunset. At least his final rival fight was with Luke, a nice scene between both of them at the start to the end. Also nice easter egg reference when Luke took a picture of him on his phone.

The last thing he did in the story before becoming a master is lose to akuma. He is a disgraced man with whiskers. Akuma and Gill never lost to Ryu. Sagat apparently won in the Canon lore, and when he came to help Ryu up, he was cheap, shoted by the dark hado. Ryu being a old stagnant man is just for woke people who don't play street fighter and want everyone to die.
The reverse Jotaro hat (or whatever you call not having the cap cover the whole head) and the fact he actually has shoes helps a lot, although I'm not big on the color of the jacket so I want to see its alternate colors
Ryu IS the world warrior. I like that every main character, street fighter or even crossover games, has ran into ryu and he fights them. Ryu isnt the main character, but he is the goal of every main character. To be the best without transformations, shortcuts, trophies, fame, money, etc. The fight is all.

@@blackout1524 I freaking know what he meant genius however I would counteract that the Alpha games story was mostly focus on the main characters and not everyone elses and all tie down culminating fighting the 1 final big bad boss. SF6 is more with them having individual rivals which each having story ending for different aspects like Ken for one if you haven't read the new SF6 comics leading up to the game which btw is canonical.

Don't see a rival fight between Ken & Vega where in the comic Vega attacks Ken wife and didn;t exact revenge in game. And if Capcom did have to put that story in the game it woulda been a cinematic movie at that point like Guilty Gear Strive story mode.
I'm pretty sure there's no actual final boss of arcade mode and just ends with the rival fight, although the rivals do seem to be harder than the normal fights (I think, anyway)
