So I picked up watercolor painting about 4 years ago at almost 50 years old. I've been learning through various videos, books, trial and error, and a few online classes and have been progressing relatively well. I've even sold quite a few paintings and taught a very successful beginner class of my own! Then a couple of weeks ago I found your videos. What a tremendous difference your instructions have made!!! I think I've learned more in these two weeks than I've learned in years of practice, reading books, watching videos and taking classes! I love your style of teaching and demonstrating. You break the techniques down so well! Thank you for your videos! I've subscribed and will join your Patreon today!
You are very good at explaining things and showing by example. Do you actually teach in your non TH-cam life too? If not, you should! You are a great teacher!
@@LironYan oh yes, please help. 🙏😊 i bought the colors you recommended to realize what I am doing wrong and will now continue your course. But: If I am using the colors I already have: How can I see the difference if it is a warm or a cool color? Yellow seems to be easys. But the blue colors and the greens? 😳
Thank you so much Liron! This was very helpful. I have a much better idea about how to paint the cast shadows and have them follow the shape of the ground now. Your demo was super helpful. Thank you for taking the time to do this. -Carla
Hi, Thanks for the video, forgive my naivety, Just a point about the shadow on the nose, would that shadow on the side not exposed to the light be a form shadow, not a cast shadow? I think im getting confused! Love you videos. 🙏🏾

@@LironYan you're very welcome!!
This was really helpful, Liron. Explaining the effect of the surface of the ground on the cast shadow really clarifies this for me!
Glad you turned this into a full sized demo, very informative!
You are a very effective teacher. These small improvements make a huge difference! Thank you.

On the actual nose would be a form shadow, but the nose itself can often cast a shadow too! On the lips / cheek (:
thank u !!
איפה היית כל חיי?! איזה אדיר ❤️
