Back in O.C. Calif when I was 30 my wife heard a commercial on the radio about a P.F. show coming up. Knowing I am a Floyd fan she called the radio station (KMET - LA, “The Mighty Met”) to get information on the concert, The DJ on live radio Cynthia Fox…. said...."Congratulations, YOU are caller number 10, YOU just won tickets to the show and the Sound Check Party before the show"... I met David Gilmour back stage. He gave us both a signed album that I have in my music room. We talked for 22 minutes. I called him…“The Master Of The Stratocaster” He smiled. I told him his music will stand the test of time with anything from Beethoven or Mozart. He smiled even bigger. I asked if I could shake both his hands that make such great guitar solos, he smiled bigger and said “Sure” and shook both hands at the same time, making a cross between us, I smiled HUGE. Hard to explain how awesome that moment was in my life. I asked him to describe his technique of playing guitar, he replied… “I strike a note, bend it, shake it and then release it”…. Yes, he does that quite well, better than any other guitarist I know. . I told him in my eyes he’s a “Legend“. He thanked me and said “Enjoy the show”…. during the concert after the song “Money” he looked right at me and said…. “On saxophone, another Legend, Mr. Raphael Ravenscroft” … acknowledging my comment to him. It is my favorite moment in over 300 shows I’ve seen. I asked David…. How do you create those awesome solos?… he said….. I sit on a stool and listen to what Roger, Nick and Rick put down and play along. I listen to what I played and pick out what I like, then I put the pieces together into one piece then learn to play it as one. Our fans are fanatics for our shows to sound like the albums so I must play it correctly each time in a show. I have the concert Brochure and album on the wall with David’s picture centerfold. All of us fortunate enough to have seen this show live were in a TRANCE.... MESMERIZED the entire show... as you can imagine. We walked out saying.... What did we just witness? Damn, heard this song thousands of times and I still get chills. This was the best concert of them I had seen, even better than the original Wall tour in 1980.
I saw them in 1987 touring the Momentary Lapse Of Reason album and at the time i felt it was the best concert of my life and the greatest show on earth. Fast forward to 1994's Division Bell concert and they blew me away even more. Truly the most amazing show I've ever seen, just beyond perfection in every way. Pink Floyd exists on a whole different level, unbeatable.
David Gilmour, the lead singer and guitarist was 48 years old when this Pulse concert took place. He's now 77 (one year older than myself), and believe me he still has that voice and iconic guitar expertise. Nobody has ever picked up a guitar and made it literally "sing" like Gilmour. His bending of notes is 2nd to none.
I love seeing when people first discover the best that ever did it. I was backstage in 1988 with the band as my aunt was married to Rick Wright, the original keyboard player and founder. Very cool memories. I’ve never looked back for my love of the band and how they have always made me feel. Their melancholic music always makes me feel happier. It’s a strange irony.
My friend asked me to take him. It was part of the Division Bell tour. He had multiple sclerosis. So, I was at the concert. We took his son. After the first song I looked at him. His jaw was wide open. His father has passed now. We still talk about it now. I say "do you remember when...." He knows what I am going to say lol.

Great reaction, young man.I am 70 years old and have been with PF since 1968 and have had the privilege of seeing them twice in the early 70's. This band will change your life. If you want to have some fun with this superb concert do the whole playlist start to finish. It wil be the best 2 plus hours of your life. Every song is magnificent. Just do it, no regrets.
I’m 72 saw the Floyd at the UFO club in London back in the 60s long before the were famous when Syd Barret was the main man followed them all the way went many of there early gigs. Also at this one. Perhaps the greatest concert I have been up there with Led Zepplin
I agree seen them at Wembley stadium Wembley arena Knebworth and Roger Waters in Rotterdam.Comfortably numb was my husband's song of choice for his funeral every time I hear it's like I have him back for the duration of the song 🎵
David Gilmore was 50 years old when he sang at the show. He's 75 years old now. I can tell you I saw this Toure at RFK stadium in Washington DC and to this day this is still the best show I've ever been to before or since, and I've seen just about any band you can name. Pink Floyd put on a phenomenal show.
Floyd live was crystal clear loudness. Sound came from every direction. They'd pipe in a bird or fly sound and you'd literally turn your head looking for it.
You aren't kidding, I saw this tour at Joe Robbie and was blown away by how good they made that place sound. Keep in mind I had worked for the stadium and had seen at least half a dozen concerts there before Floyd and they all had varying degrees of success with the accoustics from "Yuck" to "Not Bad". Honorable mention for Paul McCartney his band had a pretty damn good sound there too.
So true. I was lucky enough to see them live in Adelaide in 88. Quadriphonic sound. I did the same thing. Literally looked around because it sounded like it was right next to me. Never experienced that again.
I was in the crowd 10 m from David and the girls when they performed this live, at night, outside in 1988. It was the best concert I've ever seen. Glad you have discovered the sublime music of Pink Floyd.
I’m 65yrs old and still listen to Pink Floyd every day and night, the best band ever, also listen to On the tuning away, and Learning to fly, and Mother
Dude, you’re a teen...super respectful..let the band play. I’m 65 years old...your respect I didn’t have at your age...that said I grew up in an epic moment in music history Anyway, loved the reaction and the respect. First time I’ve seen you... I’m about to become. Subscriber
And of course what better way to highlight the man playing the greatest guitar solo ever than to rotate Mr. Screen 90 degrees and focus its 40-50 lights on David. Glad to see youngsters like you appreciate music I grew up with. Great reaction and description of what Floyd means to you now.
I'm 60, a musician since 13. Grew up with this music. Played in numerous bands. My daughter, recently, out of the blue, asked me who my favourite band of all time was. I hesitated, knowing that she doesn't know Floyd, and was racking my brain for a reletavely decent contemporary outfit that I know she would know. I couldn't betray my roots though and replied "Pink Floyd" She's only thirteen so I'm biding time to introduce her. What's telling is that I don't mind waiting, because their music is timeless. I love your reactions! Reminds me very much of my first hearing of them.
My Mom saw them in 1970 at Madison Square Garden in NY. She said they were beyond amazing. She saw all the legendary bands. Zeppelin, Queen, Black Sabbath, Van Halen, etc. David Gilmour must have been in his twenties at the concert she saw. Timeless...
I grew up with Pink Floyd and I have grown old with their music. I'm 71 and have all their records since Atom Heart Mother was released. I'm still listening. I was privileged to have seen them live when Dark Side of the Moon came out in 1973. Every single person who was there was stoned to the gills. It was the calmest and most joyful audience of any concert I'd ever attended. And all the folks like me who followed them in the 60s, 70s and 80s are devastated that we won't see them live. It's people like you who remind us of how great they were. Pink Floyd's final performance was in 2004. They were now in their 70s. Time will take us all, but their artful music will live on for your generation to enjoy. They are at the top of the Pyramid. You will never see their like again.
Saw that tour. Also fortunate enough to see the Animals and Division Bell (aka Pulse) tours. I started with Meddle, to me the best "gateway" album from Floyd. Cheers...
@georgeclarke8137 So well written and so right. I just missed out. I'm 59. I would give my left leg to be able to see and hear David Gilmore for the next 25yrs. You practically brought a tear to my eye.I hope you live a very long time having these memories of seeing Pink Floyd at their best. I am a fair guitarist and to see how effortlessly he bends his notes like no other artist ever. Ever. An extra terrestrial dropped something on him. He is out of this world. My Gawd.
@@oldeskoolnana7543 You cats sure are. Damn. I had a chance to see Another brick in the wall. Kinda thought it was a little too British if that makes sense. Very political. What this lad says is spot on. . I’ve listened to this song so many times I’ve lost count and every time it’s like a spiritual experience. I’m just grateful they shared their gift for all to enjoy x
To all my brothers and sisters who were fortunate to live during the '60s and '70s.....the torch has been passed to the next generation. That's a good thing. Outstanding reaction, young man!
Living in and around London Ive seen all the big acts from Stones, Led Zep, Queen, Clapton, Elton, Tina Turner, McCartney, White Stripes, through to Oasis. Seen Floyd at a number of venues. And yes, this is the best concert Ive ever attended
I grew up, in real time, on Sabbath, Purple, Maiden etc.. and came late to Pink Floyd (circa 80's), but "oblige me" they were masterful. I will watch this performance until i know my time is up. And (hopefully) beyond!
Pink Floyd is nothing short of a gift from God to all of us. If you want another really great one...Shine On you Crazy Diamond....High Hopes...and Marooned are all very beautiful. Great reaction!
I saw them in concert on May 20, 1994 at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, MA during their Division Bell Tour. All I can say is that the packed to capacity stadium didn't care about the misty rain that evening which actually enhanced the laser lights shining into the air. When they played all of the songs in their set, including Comfortably Numb which was the second to the last song, everyone was in awe of the quadraphonic sound, light show and music which was mesmerizing to say the least. The large circular screen seen in this video which was lowered served as a theater screen showing iconic Pink Floyd clips throughout the concert. As a side note, there are two identical stage and speaker set ups that Pink Floyd used. The second set is always on the move to their next venue and set up in advance of their arrival. Each stage set up had a price tag of 5 million dollars. If you ever have a chance to see David Gilmour in concert...don't pass it up. Unfortunately, Pink Floyd will never reunite.
Finally, finally someone who understands the rules of listening to Pink Floyd.👍 The very first is don’t talk followed very close second don’t stop the music and always wear headphones, Always. I was about your age when I first saw Floyd in the early 70’s. They didn’t have all that fancy-schmancy light show but didn’t need it. The were one of the best rock bands ever. When listening to their albums remember, they need to be listened from the beginning to the end. They will take you down a road. You won’t be disappointed. Good start on this experience would be “Dark Side of the Moon. Enjoy your journey.😎✌️
I'm 60. Pink Floyd has been my #1 since I heard them at 14. David Gilmours searing soaring solos still leave me slack jawed after all these decades. MATCHLESS. He's the sole reason i bought a Fender Strat and learned to play. In concert, nobody has had a bigger better badder stage setup. Nobody...ever. Pink Floyd is described as the JUGGERNAUGHT of concert shows, album sales, marketing, fan base, radio play, all of it.
This will be the 2nd best live performance you've ever seen after you watch them play 'Echoes' live in Pompeii when they were young. It will change your life, brother! They're amazingly talented, one of the GOATS!
This and Echoes are among my favorite Live performances of all time also. An honorable mention has to be RUSH’s Live performance of “Xanadu “ from Exit Stage Left.
Saw them in 94, my dad is a big fan so the parents & I saw them in Philadelphia. I went liking a song or two, I left being blown away. It was so amazing & I'm glad I got to experience it. Years & many concerts later from several genres nothing has ever compared.
Pink Floyd's early albums, Atom Heart Mother etc., were obtuse for the day. You had to learn to like them while they sucked you in, slowly. Then Darkside of the Moon came out and stayed on the charts for YEARS. They will be remember millennia from now.
I was there. Dead center. It was 10x as impactful to hear that incredible massive hi fidelity wall of sound. 28 years later, I am nearly 60 and the song is as fresh as it was then. That applies to at least a dozen Floyd works; Echoes, Dark Side, Wish You Were Here, Animals and some tracks from the Wall and a couple of tracks from Momentary Lapse of Reason and Division Bell. It's a real lifetime pleasure.
Try Echoes live in Gdansk. Takes you right around the galaxy twice and then back to earth. Astonishing. Saw this live in London. Awesome. Great video thanks.
The "Wall", album, featuring "Comfortably Numb", came out in 1979. A superb band indeed. I was born in 1960 and I've enjoyed Pink Floyd since 1970 when I was 10 yrs old. My all time favorite band.
OK first thing I say to you is you deserve a sub just for not lashing during a David Gilmore solo. I love that you as a younger man then my generation as I have grown up watching them and seen them many times and pulse concert was my favourite concert I've been to 🫵🏻
Great reaction. I guarantee you’ll find more of “The best song I’ve ever heard” on both “The Wall” album and “Dark side of the moon”. It’s meant to be listened to from cover to cover, with HEADPHONES. You will be taken on a journey with your emotions. At some point your soul might leave your body. You’ll hear the most beautiful singing without any actual words sung (Great Gig in the Sky). Enjoy your journey my friend 😎

This was the very first album I ever bought in my life. I was 8 years old, and it was 1975. I was hooked on the first song. It brings me joy seeing someone younger loving this.
Well said young man. They are the pinnacle of music for human kind. I said this in other comments, but Pink Floyd makes today's music sound like commercial jingles. Been listening since high school in mid 80's. Seen this concert tour in 94 when they came to New Jersey. Will take that memory to the grave

His voice is inexplicable, rivals his guitar playing. It's so soothing, it puts you in a place where it feels comparable to your mother's womb. D.G. and Pink Floyd will change your life, you'll see that there's other people who feel their music as well.
@@rickleblanc8900 it was unbelievable! It was a "Package Tour" with Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix, The Move, Amen Corner, The Nice (Keith Emerson's precursor to Emerson. Lake and Palmer), The Outer Limits and Eire Apparent. I saw the tour in Portsmouth UK.

I've loved PF for 50 years, and I'm delighted to see someone discovering them for the first time. Two live performances you should check out: On The Turning Away from the Delicate Sound of Thunder concert, and Echoes from David Gilmour Live in Gdansk - that is a solo DG tour, but with RIck Wright, so it's half of PF, and the finest version of Echoes I've ever heard. DG said Echoes was his favorite song to perform live, and he always felt like it was a duet between him and Rick - the interplay between them in Live in Gdansk in magical. Shine On, young friend!
Glad you got to hear this version. It’s mind blowing and for me, Pink Floyd has been a life changer. No one person or band has ever lived up to them; again, for me. I’m so happy to see teens like yourself giving it a chance and seeing how powerful and timeless they are.
Welcome to the most talented rock band that has ever existed. Their music is timeless and will exist as the best albums ever created by a group of music genius is! Long live Floyd!!!!!!
React to Pink Floyd Shine on you Crazy Diamond. There are 9 parts to the song and it is 25 minutes long, BUT WELL WORTH THE TIME. I was at this concert in 1994. All I can say is being there in person was an honor and an experience that I will remember for the rest of my life. The audience was in awe during that performance. Even in the parking lot after the concert, we were still in awe from what we just experienced. I grew up listening to Pink Floyd and I have been to so many of their concerts. Every concert was more epic than the last. They have endless Masterpieces to choose from. Enjoy your trip down the Pink Floyd rabbit hole.
Great reaction to a legendary song! I suggest reacting to 'Sorrow' from Pulse. I think it's even more intense than 'Comfortably Numb'. Also, to answer your question: In 1994, David Gilmour would have been 48 years old. He's 75 years old now (he's the same age as my dad). :)
Comfortably Numb was originally released around 1979 as part of The Wall album. Pink Floyd was formed in 1965 in London. 3 of the members of Pink Floyd from the 1960’s performed in the 1994 Pulse concert. The 3 would have been around 50 years old at the time of Pulse. Check out Run Like Hell and also Sorrow from Pulse. Also, Pink Floyd’s Pulse concert was not just one night. They played for 14 nights in London.
@@oldguyespo640 Comfortably Numb was never part of Dark Side of the Moon. Do you have an alternate or bootleg version of Dark Side that includes Comfortably Numb? I can’t wait to see your proof.
It's actually called the Division Bell Tour. Pulse was the live album that resulted. I was fortunate enough to see this tour in DC, almost 29 years ago to the day. Floyd is an experience. They may not change your life, but they will change your soul. Cheers....

I can tell you I saw this Toure at RFK stadium in Washington DC and to this day this is still the best show I've ever been to before or since, and I've seen just about any band you can name. Pink Floyd put on a phenomenal show.
Gilmour my PF friend not Gilmore. 👍🏻
@@stevebellyman voice to text my PF friend, voice to text.
Was a steward when I seen these so seen a few big bands. This lot blew me away. Never heard owt like it
I was in the crowd 10 m from David and the girls when they performed this live, at night, outside in 1988.
It was the best concert I've ever seen.
Glad you have discovered the sublime music of Pink Floyd.
You don't listen to Pink Floyd, you experience them. Watch the whole Pulse concert.
I’m 65yrs old and still listen to Pink Floyd every day and night, the best band ever, also listen to On the tuning away, and Learning to fly, and Mother
Dude, you’re a teen...super respectful..let the band play. I’m 65 years old...your respect I didn’t have at your age...that said I grew up in an epic moment in music history
Anyway, loved the reaction and the respect.
Omg! You are adorable! Your appreciation and enthusiasm is contagious! ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you so much
I'm 60, a musician since 13.
Saw that as well in 1973. How lucky we were.❤❤✌✌
Saw that tour. Also fortunate enough to see the Animals and Division Bell (aka Pulse) tours. I started with Meddle, to me the best "gateway" album from Floyd. Cheers...
I saw them back then too. Most amazing musical experience of my life. Equally stoned to the gills. We doe mescaline. It was quite a trip. ✌🌻🌻
Being what 40 some yrs older, I wish I jumped on the opportunity. Youth never thinks about an end to anything. There's an end to everything.
I’m old now, and on the backside of life, but I got to see bands like Pink Floyd, and Led Zeppelin live in concert.
Living in and around London Ive seen all the big acts from Stones, Led Zep, Queen, Clapton, Elton, Tina Turner, McCartney, White Stripes, through to Oasis. Seen Floyd at a number of venues. And yes, this is the best concert Ive ever attended
Music that make the gods weep. Period. Welcome to the Pink Floyd family. The greatest band of all time.
I grew up, in real time, on Sabbath, Purple, Maiden etc.. and came late to Pink Floyd (circa 80's), but "oblige me" they were masterful. I will watch this performance until i know my time is up. And (hopefully) beyond!
The concert finale was Run Like Hell (played immediately after Comfortably Numb) thats how you end a show :)
Finally, finally someone who understands the rules of listening to Pink Floyd.👍
The very first is don’t talk followed very close second don’t stop the music and always wear headphones, Always.
Spot on lad most Americans can’t help talking over it
I seen PF at arrowhead stadium in 94 the best concert I have witnest
Pink Floyd's early albums, Atom Heart Mother etc., were obtuse for the day. You had to learn to like them while they sucked you in, slowly. Then Darkside of the Moon came out and stayed on the charts for YEARS. They will be remember millennia from now.
Best band of all times 😎👍🎸🥁🎤🎶✨ i think i was watch Pulse concert 1000 times 😁 I never get tired of it 😎👍
I was there.
David Gilmour has perfect pitch. This means he always sing on note. Also means all his string bends, tremolos will be spot on.
I appreciate your sincere reactions....
I love that you as a younger man then my generation as I have grown up watching them and seen them many times and pulse concert was my favourite concert I've been to 🫵🏻
I had the extreme pleasure of seeing this concert and it was a total MIND BLOWER. When the "Disco Ball" came out it was a serious WOW moment.
Glad the younger generation are enjoying, i was one of the lucky to see this live at Earls Court live, one of the first Wall concerts
And to sound this good...LIVE!only floyd. All time classic.no clue how many times ive heard this over the yrs! Im 65 and dont remember NOT hearing them! Spread the news.. ia must hear. For any and all who love music!..that changed music forever!!i could see ..you get it!smiling as i watch you hearing this one! Dan north florida-4/06/21👍👍🤓🤓
This was the very first album I ever bought in my life. I was 8 years old, and it was 1975. I was hooked on the first song. It brings me joy seeing someone younger loving this.
Saw Pink Floyd 5 times & Roger Waters at least over 20 times, The Pulse Concert was a Must See when it came to my area & it sure was...Great Reaction!
Your so lucky. Wish I was watching that for the first time..👍🏴❤
"Dogs" is 17 minutes of amazing music. Shine On You Crazy Diamond (Parts I - V) and (Parts VI - IX) 13 minutes each but this is incredible stuff.
Animals is brilliant from beginning to end !
Pink Floyd wrote dogs 🎯🎸🚬💣
Well said young man. They are the pinnacle of music for human kind. I said this in other comments, but Pink Floyd makes today's music sound like commercial jingles. Been listening since high school in mid 80's. Seen this concert tour in 94 when they came to New Jersey. Will take that memory to the grave
Welcome to the family. They're the G.O.A.T brother imo. If the universe has a soundtrack it's Pink Floyd
I am 63 and i heard it when i was about 14 pink floyd records stay just as good fifty years later you are right your appreciation of the records only get better. It is almost as good to see your reaction as it was to hear them for the first time. Enjoy your trip around the univers listening to all pink floyd, float away to their fantastic records. I wish i was you finding pink floyd for the first time.
We all thought this was out of this world when it was first released and it still wow's me today!! Great reaction!!! It's great to see your reaction mirror ours back in the day!!
I first saw Pink Floyd in 1967. They had been producing classic music since then.....and Dave Gilmour is the finest guitarist you will ever see....
His voice is inexplicable, rivals his guitar playing. It's so soothing, it puts you in a place where it feels comparable to your mother's womb. D.G. and Pink Floyd will change your life, you'll see that there's other people who feel their music as well.
That must have been a life-changing event when you saw them in 1967 !
Live at Pompeii they were Really Young still . Watch ALL of that . Live cut . Superb Production .
You’re on the beginning of your Pink Floyd journey, I’ve been here on that same journey for fifty years. Never get tired of the music and lyrics...they always bring me peace, love and joy. So come on in, the water is magnificent!
Annie
I saw this tour in Oakland. Being there live for this performance was a once in a lifetime experience.
I saw that concert live in the 90´s and I will never forget that experience for my whole life!
Pink Floyd is the greatest band ever ...l was at the Pulse concert at Earls Court London 1994 it was awesome ...
1979 was the year Comfortably Numb came out, on 'The Wall' album. I was 19 at the time ... it was the height of the 70s
I was there,at Earls Court,in London.
I'm still smiling.
🎶🎧
I seen them 3 times. Parliament Hill fields 68. Earls Court 80. Sydney88. We were privileged.
You have to listen to the live version of Comfortably Numb in Live Aid 2005 concert with all of the original members (-Syd).
True music that touches your soul.By the greatest band ever!.Get some more Floyd experiences young fella.
Yes, he's 75, and can still play the heck out of this guitars.
YES and Hawkwind always had great light and visuals too
I saw this concert back in 1994 in Atlanta Ga the best show I have / will ever see
Led Zeppelin 1973 MSG the song remains the same concert. Stairway to Heaven and Since I’ve been loving you are awesome as well.
Don't mean to correct you but Comfortably Numb was originally released on "The Dark Side of the Moon" and then reintroduced on "The Wall" album...
@@oldguyespo640 Comfortably Numb was never part of Dark Side of the Moon. Do you have an alternate or bootleg version of Dark Side that includes Comfortably Numb? I can’t wait to see your proof.
On the turning away has always been a favourite of mine
Great reaction man! Same concert, SORROW, COMING BACK TO LIFE, LEARNING TO FLY, HIGH HOPES, TIME.
Welcome.
Shine on............you crazy diamond. 🤘🎸
You know it 👍
:)
It's actually called the Division Bell Tour. Pulse was the live album that resulted. I was fortunate enough to see this tour in DC, almost 29 years ago to the day. Floyd is an experience. They may not change your life, but they will change your soul. Cheers....
This performance is consistently rated in the top five ever.
" When I was a child I had a fever".
Também eu.... ouvi Pink Floyd uma vez e fiquei "doente" para sempre. Só melhoro quando os ouço.
Música Fantástica !!!!
You want even more WOW?
Sorrow and Coming Back To Life from this Pulse concert.
6 mind blowing solos between them.
you had to be there, no drugs needed, the music got you high
This is my 2nd favorite live performance but no1 is led zeppelin song stairway to heaven. They are my 2 favorite bands ever. Great reaction, you can tell when someone listens to pink floyd live for the first time. Emotional, chills and goosebumps. 😱🤘🤘
