The price in Germany of 415€ is ridiculous. In the USA it's 249$, even with VAT and customs you should come out under 300€. Greetings go out to Musik Meyer, the distributor in Germany. Der Preis in Deutschland mit 415€ ist lächerlich. In den USA 249$, selbst mit Aufschlag MwSt und Zoll sollte man unter 300€ raus kommen. Grüße gehen raus an Musik Meyer. 🙄
Yeeea the model up SBMM RAY 4 is only £400 in UK and has a ridiculously hot 3 band active EQ and it's a skinnier jazz style neck... Retired my Sandberg from live play and replaced it with one
@@Skippymoogoose90 The SUB series is not good at all. O bought one as a cheap backup bass to my 2009 Stingray and it sounds like a completely different instrument. Not in a good way.
@@ileutur6863 the above bass is BELOW the Sub series... Didn't say it sounded like a real Ray...if a Sub £400 bass got close to a £2k plus one there's some serious quality control issues with the latter... The Ray 4 I can throw around at gigs, holds tuning and cuts through as an over driven rock bass. My Sandberg Ken Taylor is a fantastic and versatile studio instrument. Different leagues and a place for both in a collection.
Less expensive than $250 with matching build quality and iconic sound? Tbh, for $250, you’re getting great build quality and 75% of the tone that I do from my EBMM Stingray Special HH at ten times that amount. Not sure there’s much to complain about here.
I would say an excellent 'alternative' would be the new(ish) Sire MM Z3 bass....3-band 18v pre-amp too...
Waiting for Gregor's review about it!!!
My Harley Benton MB4 can do this too. Also in single coil mode.
Thisone with flats would sound sooo good, I'm shure
Sounds fantastic
Can you please do a review on the Sire Z-Series? Since you're a Stingray Lover, I'm shure you would enjoy it

@ileutur6863 oh also, the Ray 4 and 24 replaced the SUB Series in 2015 and are considered MUCH better instruments than the SUBs they replaced
€429 in Italy....
It really does sound like a stingray!
Is a shadow of the stingrays sound but overall not bad
Man there are sooo many great cheap basses out there these days.

@peadookie no, I just meant basses like these that are less expensive. Didn't want to say cheap basses because they aren't cheaply built anymore.
But... But the Thomann link goes to another Sterling model
Ok I got it - Thomann doesn't have this model listed
There's no top end.
What is the pedal sound that is used on the 1st intro part? Sounds great🙌🏼👍🏼
I'm hearing only a clean DI, plus a keyboard line adding that midrange thing.
I would love to have a real Stingray, but MM is not keen on catering to us lefties much. Pity.
Its not bad but the Sire Z3 exists so its kind of not competitive unless you need exactly the stingray shape
The string spacing is different tho
