It was finally time to bolt some performance mods to the Sweepstakes MK7.5 GTI and we couldn't be more excited. We added some flow parts including Racingline's IS38 hybrid turbo, Neuspeed's turboback exhaust and front mount intercooler, and our own ECS Tuning intake system and intercooler charge pipes. In addition to the flow parts, we added Racingline's oil catch can, Forge's silicone coolant hoses, and a bunch of cosmetic engine bay upgrades from Racingline and ECS including an engine cover, battery cover, fuse cover, dipstick, oil cap, coolant cap, and washer fluid cap.

Probably around $6-7k easily in parts
He put a catch can which ranges from $250-600
All the forge hoses maybe around $200 ish
Neuspeed intercooler probably around $800-900
Turbo easily $1500+
Turbo back exhaust maybe $1.5-2k
Intake $500+ it’s carbon fiber
For engine work only you're probably looking at around 7K in parts depending. Not to mention tuning and a couple loose ends as well as any suspension, wheels, tires, etc. These platforms aren't the cheapest yet, but neither am I an expert in VW's so do some more research before you take my word for it.

Probably the best place to buy aftermarket parts! Huge variety. My MK5 GTI is made up of all ECS bought parts and I'm in NZ.. Shipping costs is a killer though :/ Running 250kw to the wheels atm..

I just happened upon this video. I liked that it was stated they are going to get the Racingline turbo kit. So what happened? It's been 2 years!!
Imagine putting an APR Stage 2 tune on TOP of all of this. Oh my goodness!!
Stage 2 wouldn't play well with the turbo upgrade, but the car moved after all of these parts and a custom tune!
ECS Tuning isn't this the Is38 turbo? If so, they have a ECU tune specifically for this turbo upgrade

So without the Turbo kit its about $4,443 for full exhaust, intake, front mount, catch can and oil cooler (assuming its $500). Turbo kit looks like it may go for at least $3k. So your looking at about roughly $7, 443 without Forge Lines and extra carbon fiber pieces. You're welcome :)
Any of these kits 50 state compliant? Here in California they check for stuff pretty good, like the oil catch can installed in this video would be an automatic fail, so would the downpipe. So what is available for those that live in strict emission compliant States?

Forge Motorsports are the homies, I have an integrated engineering intake same inter cooler, apr 3” downpipe catless, and an awe track exhaust. Turbo and stage 2 apr next week (: (For the turbo I’m coming to ecs for the IS38 :D)
Can’t forget the forge blow off valve, anyone wondering id honestly check out the hks bov before you look at the forge one

What do you think the turbo does to the sir anyways spinning at 10s of thousands of rpms.. Creates hot ass air which in turn is cooled by the intercooler. Turbos you want the shortest possible route to the turbo, an open turbo with a ram horn is the most ideal setup really. Intercoolers do the work for ya!

I drive a 2016 Volkswagen Tiguan SE 2.0TSI 4 Motion. Great car, despite it’s looks only a middle-aged mother would love.
The acceleration isn’t really impressive because the car’s almost 3,800 lbs.
How easy is it to swap out the turbocharger for a larger one?
Do I have to take the truck to someone to flash it?
Do I really have to change the exhaust? I prefer the quieter the better.
I’m basically asking is it plug and play or is it more involved?
Also, u could buy this mod ..or get an m3 or rs4 for the same price as your 4banger + this mod (which shortens your engine life).

Are you building the internals? or will the gti handle that power level pretty well? never really looked into that platform but figured if youre doubling the HP you might be building it lol
