ok constructive critic: To much long passes but thats obvious, a lot of blitzes were wasted you want to "open a path" trough which you can send your gutter runners and possible cage material trough, you are a running team afterall. Your gutter runners were placed to far from the line thats bad cause when you get an additional turn you sometimes actually can catch the ball. Sorry but you do not understand how tackle zones work plz learn that. You saw with the elves agi 4 players with dodge are hard to hold, do not forget that your gutter runners actually are the same kind of players. move--> short pass-->move-->hand off-->move remember you can do this chain and prepare people to use it As a general advice you need to "visualize" how to win that means asking yourself what are your advantages compared to the team your fighting and how can you use them.

A lot of rules are fairly simple + UI in BB2 is rather good, so you see a lot just from the interface. A lot of plays by NL here, or Dodger in her game were so cringeworthy... Yeah, Strippin deserved this one. NL seemed pretty rusty. There were a LOT of misplays here, but the most crucial one was probably the game-losing play at 58:40. One square down, and that Gutter Runner would not have been marked, would have given an assist, and a block would have been far more likely. That one made me stand up and wave my arms around for a bit.
To explain; you only get an assist in a tackle if your assister is in *no other* enemy tackle zone than the tackle target. For example @ 58:47, that gutter runner won't be assisting in the tackle, since he's in the other elfs tackle zone. If he'd be put in one of the bottom squares, he would have assisted, and the other elf wouldn't have been able to assist still since he's in your other gutter runner's tackle zone. I think it's kinda silly that Strippin (who obviously knows the game well) doesn't point this out during the game. On the other hand, he does point out the basic "do your least risky moves first" and NL gets all salty, even if he broke that "rule" a bunch of times earlier in the game. :)

Hey NL just a quick tip, you gain +1 strength to any block you make if you have a player in the victim's tackle zone, and only their tackle zone (not in any other opponents as well). You seemed a bit confused as to why you got strength sometimes, so there you go! Love the series, keep it up!
General Blood Bowl tip: Plan for pushes, do not plan for Knockdowns. There are two push results on the dice, that's a 33% chance to push each time. If your opponent has Dodge, 'Defender Stumbles' becomes a push, bringing that up to 50%. If you have block, however, your chance to knockdown does increase, but for the most part, PLAN FOR PUSHBACKS.
Nuffle praised me earlier today when my valiant Dwarves killed a Chaos Warrior and injured two others with crippling injuries (-1 strength and -1 armor I believe) on my first turn, when he probably had the power to beat me. His surrender brought beautiful music to my ears.
TheZedman5000 Surrenders are lame... I ended that game with 5 players on the pitch. As long as I don't have perm injuries on important players, and the apo there just in case, the MVP and cash are worth the struggle.
Gran Gurbo true, but losing 3 players (probably forever) with no apothecary on the first turn was pretty brutal, even if I never got that lucky for the rest of the game.

The Skaven thrower is a pointless piece, always use your gutter runners they throw and catch better because of their higher agility also they can move further allowing for easier passes and safe hand offs. :) Hope this helps.

The ball is loose so it won't be a turn over if the players drop it, and since it is still his turn he can still grab it, likely from a less contested square. The odds for the ball to land on NL's team is 3 out of 8, 2 out of 8 for strippin, and the remaining 3 out of 8 the ball will drop on an unoccupied square, again, less contested. The best part is, even if Strippin's team got the ball he will still have a hard time getting out of the tackle cage if NL is smart enough to build one.
+Jarvis Ritch Mine are on Pyrion Flax as most likely, crendor as second most likely, and strippin as third most likely to win. Dont underestimate the guy who has played bloodbowl 2 so much that he was lvl 20 before anybody else even got to lvl 10 (pyrion, - chode warriors) :)
fan factor was actually an important stat for new teams back in LRB4 and most guides had you dump a fair amount of cash into it, back when GATE was a thing and how it affected your post-match winnings!
Ten minutes in... Loving the whole 'pulverize Northernlion with the Treeman' thing Strippin has going on. He found the ONE team possibly less bashy than himself.
When a player is in another players takle zone they do not count as an assist for your block action. Thus placing your players at the yellow (-1) squares is a lot better than placing them at the red (-2 or -3) squares since they can assist in blocking like that. Having high MA players (like gutter runners) that can just run in and assist in a block is a rather nice thing and can free up a lot of space for your other players to move. Add in a planned Blitz action and you have a rather nice turn with low risk and medium to high reward which is what you ideally aim for.
NL you should always kick the ball in the center of the field. It's the only way (without modifiers) to make sure a touchback does not happen. It's better to have it somewere on the field then straight up giving it to them. Only when you get a guy with the kick skill can you start positioning the landing spot.
FYI, you could have gotten a 2 die block on that last hit before strippin scored by positioning your guys so they were only adjacent to the ball carrier (and not the guy behind him).
NL, if you want to blitz someone ALWAYS put your other guys in the tackle zones marked with a 1. Or you get literally nothing from it. And honestly, with wardancers, it's almost better to just mark them with as many people as possible and just leave it. Unless you have tackle or wrestle to get them down.
There can only be a few things more bewildering than a man debating whether to make a single dodge for a TD... Or his other option! To make a hand-off, catch it, then throw it, then catch it, and score! Clearly a tough choice... But a really fun watch.

NL, placing a player into a tackle zone wont give you an extra die on a block, A player only lends his +1 strength towards the block if he is not in a tackle zone. Several times you tried to get an extra die and could have, but you placed the helper into another opponents tackle zone, nullifying his help. Please learn these basics if you want to succeed
I was rooting for NL at the beginning of this video, but I could not be happier after seeing him lose to Strippin because geez that was a mess. Passing is always a horrible idea no matter how much agility you have unless your passer has Pass and your catcher has Catch and they both have high agility. Otherwise you only do it as an absolute emergency or when you have nothing else to lose. It's so hard to get and hold on to the ball in bloodbowl the last thing you want to do is get rid of it on your own turn.

Of course having a reroll is essential. OH and not throwing long passes....
I would have added the need for a reroll but you can't reroll if you use Pass or Catch so having a reroll is just a substitute for one of the skills. Yes there's more circumstances for teams like elves but with their movement allowance it's a better idea to just do a handoff if you need to give the ball to a different player, unless the elves involved both have +1 agility. People can pass however many times they want but I personally wouldn't pass without those skills unless both players had at least 5 agility, especially not with them having 3 agility, and it being a long pass, and not having a reroll to use on the turn like NL was doing. Fouling is just as fun and much safer, since there's only a 17% chance of being ejected if you break their armor and only a 30% chance of being ejected if you do, I was disappointed NL didn't foul a bunch of people.
Well, that was the most enjoyable match in the league so far, despite the fact that NL is second only to Dodger in terms of how poorly he played lol. I mean no offence ofc but those passing plays were pretty... um, bad. That said I could care less about NL's mistakes cos his commentary was golden, even better than expected haha

Jesus Christ, I don't inherently dislike Strippin like some other people do, but that shit he pulled at 20:49 just to stomp on rats for another turn is just scumbaggery that surpasses even the egg himself.
+TheTrueDeadFingers I'd say that was perfectly fine and I play rats myself. If you have a decent chance at grabbing some SPPs with low risk, you'd be stupid not to do it. After scoring, SPPs are the most important thing as they develop your team. Holding off the touchdown for a turn or two also makes it harder for your opponent to score a counter. And all blocks have a chance of injuring yourself, even 3-die ones (I have seen a triple skull, reroll, triple skull happen in game). The only real scumbag move I'd say are fouls on turn 16 as you don't gain anything from them (no SPPs), there is no risk (if someone gets sent off it does not matter, unless you could actually score this turn in which case you'd be an idiot to foul instead) and the only thing it does is possibly hurt the opposing team in future matches through injuries. Fouls on other turns are fine though as they are simply part of the game and there is a valid risk/reward consideration.
+TheTrueDeadFingers Scoring and giving Skaven (the kings of quick touchdowns) a few extra turns with the ball would have been the worst idea imaginable. There's nothing scummy about it. It was the only remotely intelligent play.

When a player is in another players takle zone they do not count as an assist for your block action. Thus placing your players at the yellow (-1) squares is a lot better than placing them at the red (-2 or -3) squares since they can assist in blocking like that. Having high MA players (like gutter runners) that can just run in and assist in a block is a rather nice thing and can free up a lot of space for your other players to move. Add in a planned Blitz action and you have a rather nice turn with low risk and medium to high reward which is what you ideally aim for.
NL you should always kick the ball in the center of the field. It's the only way (without modifiers) to make sure a touchback does not happen. It's better to have it somewere on the field then straight up giving it to them. Only when you get a guy with the kick skill can you start positioning the landing spot.

FYI, you could have gotten a 2 die block on that last hit before strippin scored by positioning your guys so they were only adjacent to the ball carrier (and not the guy behind him).
NL, if you want to blitz someone ALWAYS put your other guys in the tackle zones marked with a 1. Or you get literally nothing from it. And honestly, with wardancers, it's almost better to just mark them with as many people as possible and just leave it. Unless you have tackle or wrestle to get them down.

NL, placing a player into a tackle zone wont give you an extra die on a block, A player only lends his +1 strength towards the block if he is not in a tackle zone. Several times you tried to get an extra die and could have, but you placed the helper into another opponents tackle zone, nullifying his help. Please learn these basics if you want to succeed
I was rooting for NL at the beginning of this video, but I could not be happier after seeing him lose to Strippin because geez that was a mess. Passing is always a horrible idea no matter how much agility you have unless your passer has Pass and your catcher has Catch and they both have high agility. Otherwise you only do it as an absolute emergency or when you have nothing else to lose. It's so hard to get and hold on to the ball in bloodbowl the last thing you want to do is get rid of it on your own turn.

As an elf player I disagree. 11 lineman high-/dark-elf teams can actually go for passes in some circumstances. Of course having a reroll is essential. OH and not throwing long passes....
I would have added the need for a reroll but you can't reroll if you use Pass or Catch so having a reroll is just a substitute for one of the skills. Yes there's more circumstances for teams like elves but with their movement allowance it's a better idea to just do a handoff if you need to give the ball to a different player, unless the elves involved both have +1 agility. People can pass however many times they want but I personally wouldn't pass without those skills unless both players had at least 5 agility, especially not with them having 3 agility, and it being a long pass, and not having a reroll to use on the turn like NL was doing. Fouling is just as fun and much safer, since there's only a 17% chance of being ejected if you break their armor and only a 30% chance of being ejected if you do, I was disappointed NL didn't foul a bunch of people.
Well, that was the most enjoyable match in the league so far, despite the fact that NL is second only to Dodger in terms of how poorly he played lol. I mean no offence ofc but those passing plays were pretty... um, bad.
That said I could care less about NL's mistakes cos his commentary was golden, even better than expected haha

Jesus Christ, I don't inherently dislike Strippin like some other people do, but that shit he pulled at 20:49 just to stomp on rats for another turn is just scumbaggery that surpasses even the egg himself.
+TheTrueDeadFingers I beleive that the play was probably more meant to prevent NL scoring on the next drive than injuring his rats.
+TheTrueDeadFingers It's a valid tactic, if you ever play BloodBowl either on table or in the game you will find people do that alot.
+TheTrueDeadFingers I'd say that was perfectly fine and I play rats myself. If you have a decent chance at grabbing some SPPs with low risk, you'd be stupid not to do it. After scoring, SPPs are the most important thing as they develop your team. Holding off the touchdown for a turn or two also makes it harder for your opponent to score a counter. And all blocks have a chance of injuring yourself, even 3-die ones (I have seen a triple skull, reroll, triple skull happen in game).
The only real scumbag move I'd say are fouls on turn 16 as you don't gain anything from them (no SPPs), there is no risk (if someone gets sent off it does not matter, unless you could actually score this turn in which case you'd be an idiot to foul instead) and the only thing it does is possibly hurt the opposing team in future matches through injuries. Fouls on other turns are fine though as they are simply part of the game and there is a valid risk/reward consideration.
+TheTrueDeadFingers Scoring and giving Skaven (the kings of quick touchdowns) a few extra turns with the ball would have been the worst idea imaginable. There's nothing scummy about it. It was the only remotely intelligent play.
