Hey mate. This might seem like a dumb question but is there a dipstick for the manual transmission or is it like the transfer case where you use the plug in the side? Cheers
Get one of those billet alloy eBay 4 way diff breather kits & mount it up in the engine bay. I ditched the cheap plastic push in fittings in the kit for larger nylon reinforced pipe pushed over the the original heavy duty steel diff & gearbox barbs & pushed the new hard plastic pipe into them. I did notice on all my 2014 VDJ79R "breathers" when at operating temperature and dis-connected let out a big dose of positive air pressure so they weren't breathing. The gearbox barb is located over the second rib on the casing on the passenger side if you reach up in there, it links to the top bell housing breather hose on a 90 degree barb fitting.
@@fvlok ARB make & sell very good stuff, I think their breather kits wouldn't be any different. That said, I've seen a few breather kits with big price tags & name brands on them & they look exactly like the cheaper no-name eBay versions. I like the kits that have the sintered bronze breathers in the billet aluminium breather block.

i used penrite GL4 in my 79 gearbox and the gear changes became very notchy. Changed to nulon.

I used penrite oils in my transmission, it made it shift and sound worse.I changed it to nulon and it came back to normal.
