Our Custom Acrylic Quilting Templates are cut on a laser engraving machine which gives you a precision cut design to use for marking just about any automotive upholstery material from leather, to vinyls and polyurethanes to real and of course synthetic suedes like Alcantara. For this kind of cosmetic stitching we would suggest not going below T135 and for reference in this video we used T210. Is that a certain size pick you are using to mark out your pivot point and do I need to do this to vinyl I just order the pick five template can’t wait to get started

Sure Shot Customs I don't have a specific size for the awl that Eric used but that method is purely optional. The hole isn't intended to be anything more that a guide for the needle so it doesn't need to be large. The needle will follow the path of lease resistance so a very small hole should suffice. I would suggest running some tests on your vinyl when your templates come in and see what works best with your machine/material. If you have any further questions feel free to email [e-mail].

Hey what kind of foot did you use to sew that up, I saw a cut in the inner toe that let you see the needle and where it was going to hit on your line.

Spencer Andersen The foot in this video is a standard Durkopp Adler style compound walking foot set. We modified the center walking foot by cutting a center groove to help with visual alignment.
