Man this interview made me respect him so much more. What an elite mentality man. Look at the difference between Harry's character to someone like Sancho. Succeeding at this club for players and managers require a different level of mentality.

I Love his mentality, always makes a positive out of negatives. Makes mistakes, but he just gets on with it - he doesn't shy away, which is a huge trait to have and much needed being at united.

Elite mentality! And many thanks to you Gary for remaining the voice of reason during a period where calling for the manager to be sacked is fashionable. You truly care about Manchester United and you will forever be a legend of this great football institution
Really? Have you watched the whole season? Gaz has been slagging of United even on the raw occasions we played ok until a few weeks ago when he spoke to ETH and did a 180
What impressed me most about Onana was not only his awareness and understanding of his role as a team leader and community member, but also his honesty and transparency in every answer during the interview. There’s nothing that makes you second guess his intentions or meanings.
People seemed to be surprised by his strong mentality. He is an elite Africa player of course has a strong mentality in fact African people in general have a strong mentality because nothing comes easy to them.
You see that he became a much more secure keeper halfway through the season, he just needs a better defence and midfielder in front of him, because no keeper in the premier league had to deal with more shots than him.
Google Africans Social Welfare
He is very mature, the way he thinks is like a leader / Manager of the club. Support Onana (as I always support him from day one, 2023 Summer pre-season). The good thing about Onana is that he owns up to his mistakes , and improve. He is a team player.
You may not like Onana's play but you have to respect him.. Great guy.

@@TheCJsamson also doesn’t help his CBs are constantly rotating and his midfield is forever out of position. United needs to get him help.
overall his season was decent,he overcame the mistakes from the beginning but he still has near corner problems that he needs to solve
He's a nice guy. I could tell it was a difficult interview for Gary because Onana didn't give much away and his cultural differences made it hard. Understandably, he didn't understand the motives behind some questions, and he was a bit worried about saying the wrong thing. We can't be too hard on him, as it must be difficult adapting to different countries. He hasn't been here for long, and we have to remember, he has seen the brutal, unforgiving media in Italy whereas now he is seeing the critical media in the UK, which is amplified by the poor season.
The humility behind the man really comes through. Andre is not just intelligent, talented and mentally strong but he has never forgotten where he comes from nor the power and influence that he has. This is what "character" means.
Standards are in the bin if this calamity is considered as intelligent and talented. You forgot what a real world class player looks like.

There’s a big difference between fans in the stadium and the idiots online. He’s always been supported at Old Trafford.

Hope our defence is injury free or less next year so he can showcase himself
What a character Andre is, I see a true leader in him …way to go man…Respect. Looking forward to better times @ Utd next season.
What a lovely humble man, Respect Andre. Top geezer. The Suns going to shine as long as you are willing to keep taking bullets.
Gotta say, I have called him out, blamed him, said he was poor etc and having watched this and listened to him and tried to understand his character, he appears to be a guy Utd need and speaks from the heart naturally. Definitely proved me wrong as to how I thought he may have been as a character in my mind. Gary has this natural ability to draw this out of the people he interviews which makes for interesting and compelling viewing. Class as alwasys.
What a lovely guy, humble, positive and a captain material. Respect for him has increased many folds after this interview and he will become a great keeper for our club. Ggmu
I remember watching Peter, Edwin and David thinking “a dustbin could be in goal right now and we’d still keep a clean sheet”
The number of shots this man has had to face and the % he has kept out cannot be ignored. With a good consistent back line this man is world class.
Only David last season and first season tbf, all other seasons he faced a lot of shots. Both top shot stoppers
Not during David's era, surely.
He is already world class
Fair points on David’s era - he was more inconsistent than Edwin and Peter. But my point is more about the defence being solid. For example Jose’s season where he finished second with 81 points. There were games where David may as well not have turned up.
Erik’s tactics drive the opposite at the moment and that has to change.
Andre, your wisdom both on and off the field is truly impressive. Your thoughtful decisions and leadership set you apart. Keep inspiring us all!

Very levelheaded guy this Onana! 'It won't rain everyday ... the sun with shine'
I’ve been a big critic of Onana from the moment we signed him. I was bitter that we let DDG leave. So that was part of it. No one can live up to de gea he was world class. So it took some getting used to for all parties involved. I stand by the fact that this was a reason for our poor season. But I hope that next season will be better for him and the squad. And he spoke really well. He’s improved a lot as the seasons gone on. So hopefully he will have a strong season next year. Good luck.
Agree with you there pal
De Gea's highest save percentage in the league during his last three seasons was 71,1%, and Onana ended this season with a save percentage of 74,9%, which is the highest in the league, as well as having made the most saves in the league.
Sure, De Gea has had 80%+ seasons, but his average across all seasons at Manchester United is below what Onana got this season, so Onana is of to a good start.
I'd say that Onana kept this season from being much worse, as opposed to having been the reason it was bad.

He is so underated. He saved Man U from a relegation battle. The midfield and defence have been atrocious. Avg 20 shots per game to defend... Shocking
20 shots as every Premier League team know that Bonana has a high propensity to drop Clangers every now and then and seems to be always 2-3 seconds slower in reaction, every team manager would be asking their team to have a pop at goal as Bonana has been encouragement for any team as the 12th man 😂 that’s what our coach used to tell us when we face similar goalkeeper 😅
lol he relegated United from the Champions League.
After a tricky start he’s had a really good first season, and was probably Utd’s best player along with Bruno in the second half of the season. Has what it takes to be Utd’s keeper for years to come. Just needs a settled back line in front of him.
