    Many Waldorf synths, even those from the early 1990s, are MPE-compatible due to their 16-part multi-timbral mode. The Blofeld was released in 2007 and works great with the Roli Seaboard!

      Yes, 16-part multi-timbral synths can certainly be used to do "fake" MPE. Although, most times I've found it a PITA to set up the synth that way. This because you need to set up all 16 channel parts on the synth with the desired preset and controllers. Often, that is very time consuming. The big benefit of MPE MIDI spec is it allows for using only one preset setup globally and the synth will respond to all MPE channels individually. Much more efficient way to go. Particularly so when you want to map multiple parameters to the X/Y/Z MPE controllers.

      @@tjontheroad Fortunately the Waldorfs can have the same patch assigned to all 16 channels - or less, since most of us only have 10 fingers. All changes made to that patch are applied to all voices every time you hit Save.

    Is the distortion coming from the iridium or is it just the video?

    • @tjontheroad
      @tjontheroad  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Any distortion that you may hear is likely from the camera mic.

    Great news, indeed. Does it also do velocity release for mpe?

      No, not yet.

      Does mpe spec require that? I.e. do they need to implement it in Iridium to declare mpe support?

    • @tjontheroad
      @tjontheroad  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Tvaroh Release velocity is a part of MPE. But not always supported. Iridium didn't support it before either.

    Great news, TJ! Thanks for sharing! Any news on whether Waldorf is going to improve the importing multi-samples? I love my Iridium, but that's my one big gripe. Thoughts?

    • @tjontheroad
      @tjontheroad  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for watching. I don't have any insight on what is next. Improvements for the multi sampling is also high on my wish list.

      @@tjontheroad Understood. Thanks! Keep up the great work! I've really enjoyed your videos on the Iridium. In fact, I think you inspired my Vesa mount purchase from Amazon. Such a great design idea on Waldorf's part. I hope more manufacturers utilize that option.
