DIY Faux Wood Beams!! (w/ Integrated Lighting) **part two** | EXTREME RENTAL BEDROOM MAKEOVER

Part Two of the DIY Faux Wood Beam project in my rental apartment bedroom! In the first part, we talked about how to build and hang these beams… In this video, we’re hanging the final beam BUT we’re also wiring it for the bedside pendant lights as well!
Also, we’ll be figuring out how to cut and hang crown molding to cover up all the plugs for the electrical. It’s a lot for one week, but we made it happen! Welcome to DESIGNING THE DREAM!

You should be extremely proud of yourself, this is about the hardest thing you could do especially alone.
As-is it is wonderful. That room looks nothing like a plain white box, but has character and dimension.
I know hind-sight is 20/20, but I do not believe you could have done a better job, especially with the aesthetics.
thinking aloud, the opposite sides of the room seem to contrast too much. Could you echo the opposing side a little?
Maybe use a little of the green limewash on the other side, could be the back of the shelves only? Maybe a big watercolor above the bed? Or a shelf like the other side with some mostly white things on it there? Somehow echo and blend the difference between the two sides only for balance.
Just a thought.

Is there a remote to turn on and off the lights? Curious, do you run all your ideas past your landlord or is it more of a deal where you just have to return everything to its original state? You need to start your own budget friendly design service. Clearly God has given you creative vision coupled with a mechanical know how. Your love of entertaining shows you care about people and giving them an enjoyable experience. Why not marry that into a business? Meaning, you already know how to get into a clients head to learn what they like combined with your design and building skills…..😉 i really enjoyed your work keep it up!
